Vatsim might consider all pilots to monitor 121.5. This would be great to replace the contact me when a controller (supervisor) wants to have a pilot, who has drifted into their airspace, make contact with the on duty airspace controller. The pilot client does not show up in full screen mode when flying. Just my thoughts. Regards-
can you make a video (or with parts) explaining EVERY calculations pilots do pre flight? Like the weight and balance, takeoff speed, takeoff flaps, landing speed, climb rate, MDA, decent ratehow much to descend etc, becausr i have searched many times, and no one has explained well. Also what is a tailwind, crosswind, headwind and what do they do? Thanks. We really need tutorials about this topics. Also awesome channel, have been subbed more than a year now!

They should bump up the range of unicom...something 50 miles. Unless you’re on the ground, but in the air it needs to have some range. W/o making constant position reports, it doesn’t feel realistic. I’m still new to this vatsim stuff, but the audio could still use a lot of work. Too many variables between client, sim, and players to make the experience easy.

Odd probably a dumb question - How to have the P3D sounds through the speakers and then headset for vpilot/VATSIM ATC only? My poor brain cannot figure that out... :(
Please take the time to READ the notes on proper configuration and pilot/atc client setup. Those extra few minutes will make a world of distance in your online experience. Also visit audio.vatsim.net/ for instructions on how to get set up and going. The developers have done their part, let's do ours. Hope to see you all in the virtual skies! 1) Select proper output volume. Go into the pilot client software settings, and configure your microphone. Listen to the playback to ensure your voice is clear. 2) After switching frequencies, wait and listen before transmitting so you aren't blocking someone who is in the middle of receiving or responding to ATC instructions 3) Proper placement of microphone - not directly on your lips 4) Push to talk -PTT key or button has been configured 5) After pushing the PTT key, wait 1/2 second before speaking so your first word doesn't get cut off to ATC. 6) UNICOM is not a person. It is an advisory frequency to let other aircraft in your vicinity to hear your intentions. Channel 122.80. *Not to be used as a chat frequency. 7) *Side Note: VATSIM FLIGHT PLAN: Don't forget to file your flight plan after connecting to the network. I do this right after setting up my ACARS software so I don't forget. This also lets other pilots see what your route/cruise altitude are so we can keep safely away from each other.

I have been using vpilot fine with the A32n by flybywire, for some reason today I can not hear ATC but can communicate with other aircrafts on frequency. ATC can hear me but I can't hear them. This has only developed today and really don't know how to resolve it. I have tried running as administrator but still no joy. Any suggestion would be great. Thank you
There's something I'm struggling to understand.... Why did they make it so that you can only hear other aircraft within 15nm of your position when tuned to a CTAF/UNICOM???? That ruins the purpose of a CTAF!
It's far away enough to transmit to other people close to an airport. You'll be coordinating near the approach phase and on the ground mostly anyway. No need to announce your descent to people at an airport that's still 100 NMs away.
The new audio codec is going to be so exciting and realistic to use, although I have a slight speech impediment the new codec will make things easier as the audio will be clearer and when I transmit I will not be interrupted by any other background chatter. It will be a case of "mind of matter" as ATC and pilot communications are short messages and responses and it is the short messages and responses that will be a challenge rather long periods of speech when my speech starts to flow, however,. I will give it a go. In the event that I do not feel confident to use speech will text communication still be available? If so, is there anything new with text communication with the implementation of the new audio codec. Forward-thinking, I wonder if there are other users with similar speech impediments that would like to give VATSIM a try but find the experience difficult. It may be possible to form a group, not to isolate users with speech impediments but to give them practice and confidence speaking live
@@AviationPro Yes you are quite right a VHF/.UHF 2m/70cm dual band and 145 is right in the middle of the 2m band VHF. This VATSIM update together with fs 2020 will make a great VFR flying experience. Thanks for posting.
Ya know whats funny. I know Licensed Amateur Radio Operators who are some of the biggest Flat Earthers I've ever heard...Radio Propagation is almost wholly dependent on the Earths Curvature as well as atmospheric conditions..

Simply in vpilot audio settings set your headset as output, and in P3D audio settings set speakers as output.
