Dr. Phil - Being Gay Is Not A Fad (2006)

It has been statistically proven that Gay children have a four times higher rate of suicide than the general population. This spikes to a nine times higher rate when alienated or rejected by family. There needs to be that threshold moment in the lives of parents to change their harmful views on their Gay children. Sadly, until they want to make a change no amount of interventions, therapy, reading material, videos or any other sources of information are going to get through to them. Change has to come from within.

There is definitely more to the mother's anger then was presented on the show. She needs to face here daughter with love and work through her frustrations and worries with here daughter in a nurturing way.
