The Authorship of Isaiah

- The New Testament cites the book of Isaiah more than any other Old Testament book. Scripture itself treats the book as a literary work by a single author. In this episode, Will Wood, discusses critical approaches to this prophecy that tend to view the book of Isaiah as a composite work of many different people and even different groups. All the while, we will come to see that the question of authorship is not self-contained; it raises significant issues regarding fundamental matters of the faith.

Great video guys thanks! I'm learning as much as I can on Isaiah authorship and the arguments. Reading the fundamentals and other scholars.

Four Presuppositions of Critical
1) Historicism - Hx is purely human cause and effect (there is no divine providence). It is fully explainable in human terms. The bible is a historical artifact
2) Positivism - It is not until the time of Josiah that monotheism becomes a thing (:O) The prophets are religious geniuses who come up with innovations in religion. (They do not hide these things. Alexander Rofe's book on the composition of the pentateuch i.e. says in the second paragraph that he wants to make this as human as possible)
3) Human Autonomy -
They claim that you can come at the bible without presuppositions.
Is he going to write a book about all this?
No - the human names associated with the Bible are meaningless. Also - the fact that I believe there were 2 or 3 primary authors (human) of the book in NO way means that I do not believe in the innerancy of the Word or Biblical prophetic prophecy. Pick a better hill to die on - you guys sound like intelligent fools.
