If u are trying to reprogram for cable purposes, hold down the satellite/cable button and power at same time instead of tv and power.. and if the reverse button doesn't work, then press the foward button. If u already pressed reverse button, then redue the steps and press only the foward button when u get to that step, and of course press it a couple times if it doesn't work at first.. just give it a few seconds in between presses.. this video helped to an extent.. it helped for tv purposes.. I could turn volume up n and down and change the tv channels but the cable wasn't working still so thats how eventually it clicked to try the satellite/cable button n power button together instead.. And reverse wasn't working either so I tried foward.. hope this helps someone bc took me a hour b4 I had my ephinany lol

Hey man really appreciate it even though this video is 3 years old it still works and has helped me out. I just broke my element tv remote and only had a old rca remote that wasn’t broken and doing every step in your video got it programmed to my tv in no time and I was in the middle of watching a movie when my original tv remote broke too. All these other UA-cam videos about programming remotes are just talking about what each button does and it’s annoying.

Hey there, I had to tap play about 20 times but eventually instead of turning the tv off it changed it from HDMI1 to channel 3. From there I assumed it to be the same procedure as turning it off (which I couldn't get it to do), so I tried hitting "reverse" once every 3 seconds or so to no avail. As some comments mentioned "forward" worked for them; but I couldn't get any response from that button either. Also my tv's blue light flashes red every now and then which tells me it's connecting. I've also tried hitting "stop" assuming it's working, but I still can't get it to control it. Any ideas?

Thanks your instructions worked great for an older RCA remote model to control a Sony smart tv. The Sony tv’s remote power button failed. After spending hours trying to repair it I gave up and ordered a cheap knock off remote. Now I don’t have to get off the chair to power the stupid smart tv on or off until the replacement arrives.
