Basically the best video to summarize internet culture in the early 2000s. I really miss how it focused on just being "fun" and creating new things, but the internet is a lot more judgmental and toxic nowadays. No matter the quality, or if it was "cringey", creators would just create. To me, this video is a reminder of that, and hopefully other artists can feel the same way to create the creative and fun online spaces we once had.
I think nowadays the toxicity holds a lot more merit just because of this new wave of people who especially care about the vocal minority of people who start shit.
As an artist I’m sorry to say the internet’s become basically inhospitable for even the best of us now, what with art theft and people on twitter hunting you down if you so much as don’t know how to draw a person right. But there are a lot of people who are clinging on like me, so maybe that will change with time.
I sure i feel like crying when i watch this, i saw this back in grade school it was amazing, rewatching it now shows how much life has changed, since im about to enter highschool
I wish people still had the will to make these kinds of works with their favorite characters without feeling cringe. The early internet was a wild place, but you can't deny it sparked so much creativity.
I swear I left a reply here...eh, I'll say it again. People are very much still doing this! We're the Top 5 and Rakenzarn Tales are two great examples of this kind of thing in the modern day
I sadly wasn't old enough to truly appreciate this era of the internet, but evey time I see a relic of that era like this, I feel like a bit of me is in that 2005-2008 era.
I'm almost crying to see how a simple animation video has made such wonderful memories for many people around the world... Makes me believe the world can be a a wonderful place.
@@ZomBee04 exactly. but that feeling very quickly turns sour when for people who never got to grow up on animations like this. at least for me, theres a certain feeling of guilt i feel knowing this animation has been around since i was a kid but i never got to grow up with it and look fondly on.
This song is what my 6 year old self at 2 am would dance to in my room, all night, every night. Its a nice heartwarming memories for me. Now I started listening to it, and its making me happy and calm. I have Anxiety, I still don't know if its high or low or mid. So I'm always scared and thinking of every negative things, also causing possible depression. This makes me calm and at ease.

Almost 13 years... That's amazing I remember finding this and being absolutely in love with it to the point where I tried to learn how to do the steps in certain parts of the video, and I would have this playing on full blast while dancing. It was amazing and the animation is great, even now
if anyone comes across this animation and thinks the style looks very familiar to a certain artist, that would be because its zarla-s and they are on deviantart and as a matter of fact still very much active
@@flora4402 True, I myself know them for their Handplates comics. I don't think they do much animation, not anymore at least. Been a while since i last checked up on their page, but regardless they are still active in their creativity and art
13 years later and I still love this to death. The animation was fun the characters felt special and it was so well done for it's time. Even now. I totally got nostalgic and cried a little watching this again xD
I so happy that I knew most of the characters. This was the era where everyone was including their OC with another already well known character. The original stories and comics everyone wrote were so fun, everything was so interesting and never boring, cus you just knew someone will upload something new. Today is a bit boring because of lack of imagination and creativity.
Lack of imagination and creativity? Undertale would like to have a word, hell there's so many things the problem isn't lack of creativity, the problem is copyright abuse and the fact that AAA gaming has been completely parasitized and ruined by billionaires that are destroying the world. Indie games are exploding in popularity and quality + quantity. There's only a bright future ahead for the world, we just need to seize it and we can do that by helping each other and fighting back against the evil that is the profit driven infinite growth market!

Story time. When i was in the second grade, i watched this video literally EVERY SINGLE DAY with my best friend on our first generation iPads, facetiming each other and having my friend play it on his computer. For the mini class talent show, i did a “dance” to this song (which was really just me jumping around for three minutes straight) and i guess the point here is that i’m kinda grown up (ish, i’m still a teen) now, but this video still holds a place in my heart. Even though my friend’s since moved away, i’m gonna go see him thus summer and hopefully we can dance around to this. Thanks for posting this video. It means a lot to my childhood.
This just reminded me what crazy stuff my best friend and I did. Though she moved away too we're still chatting a lot haha. Thx for reminding me of that
I listened to this for a thousand times probably. I saved this to a playlist ,I did put on at background every time I play videogames, as it made it more fun. Especially Left 4 Dead Your story is better. Still, damn good song
I first saw this 6 years ago and this is still one of the best animations I've seen in my life. Shame it's their only video. I'm sure that a lot of people would love to see more.
The creator is Zarla!! They've made many more wonderful animation and art pieces, and were a big part of the DA silent hill community (and also others, I mainly know em for their sh and jthm stuff) along with others like Xarity (who has sadly vanished from the internet). Zarla has another animation similar to this one called "Move Your Dead Bones" and its pretty good too :)
I remember me and my girlfriend loved this when we were like 14. At first I only knew the Ace Attorney characters, and actually recognized the creator cause I read their comics and fanfic. Over the years I’ve recognized so many more characters though. Makes me happy.
Something about this just being a bunch of characters from all across media simply dancing is very cute to me. Like the creator was simply having a good time putting all the things they liked.
Characters I recognize (after the flash-through at the beginning): -Olimar and Pikmin 0:49 -Miguel and Tulio 0:55 -The Earthbound gang 0:57 -Luigi 1:07 -Lucas 1:20 -Pyramid Head 1:26 -Olimar and Pikmin again 1:41 -Freddy Kruger, Jason Vorhees, and Michael Myers 1:45 -Yanni Yogi and Damon Gant 2:18 -Samus Aran 2:30 -Parasect and Raichu 2:37 -Sportacus 2:43 -Raiden(?) and Solid Snake 2:49 -Green Tentacle 3:04 Total characters recognized (not including the Olimar and Pikmin repeat): 22
Saw this for the first time today, it's just so cute and wholesome. The creator's favorite little guys and presumably some OCs just enjoying DDR. And it's quite well done too!!
First saw it as a little kid and thought it was crazy insane and how fun it looked, now I've become an adult I know a lot of the characters and this is still crazy. This is still an art piece in my heart and I think about it all the time :]

As an artist I’m sorry to say the internet’s become basically inhospitable for even the best of us now, what with art theft and people on twitter hunting you down if you so much as don’t know how to draw a person right. But there are a lot of people who are clinging on like me, so maybe that will change with time.

Yes, I do think that most creators are following the safe pattern that will guarantee them success and to be (first of all) noticed.
I just think that back then, not too long ago, you as a viewer AND creator, you could watch and get inspired by so many artist because everyone was not afraid to be different and was willing to tell their OWN story.
Whether it was on UA-cam, The Sketch, IbisPaint, DeviantArt, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter even Wattpad ext.. you get to see a huge range of different profile of people as a creators, going from edgy to happy-happy😂
I do wish we change that soon, and get back to human's primary form of freedom - imagination and creativity.

I fuckin knew it was prince peasley. Superstar saga is the best mario rpg
This video was super progressive for it's time and I think that's the best thing about this video. It didn't matter of the charater's sexuality, race or gender, it was just a bunch of people having fun and playing some DDR
Idk how you got that from this video
Also the other comment like this started a war in the reply so watch out
@@lildevlgrl7 its the best kind of progressive, it just exists, they don't scream they're gay, they just are
@@archermon373 ok TIME TO START WW3 WITH A BASED OPINION
@@archermon373 fr MOST people now just force their sexuality on others

What a cute animation! I was so happy to recognize so many different characters. This is unironically a way better music video than the official one.
After like 5 years or more this animation appeared to me again, and I am more than honored to come here and make my presence felt.
I love the fact that I came back here after years and I know most of these characters

oh ok. he kinda looks like H20 though.
All the animation people amaze me. you guys can spend hours putting identical pictures together to make it look like they are moving. GIVE THIS A THUMBS UP FOR THE HARD WORK PUT INTO THIS! Good job
he didnt make it but its still good
Chase Maddox if you really do appreciate the hard work put into this, the follow Zarla on tumblr.
