Such a FANTASTIC vid! Fans of tennis of the last 10-12 years, who endlessly argue about “who’s the GOAT” (and base that only on stupid analytics like # of GS titles)...missed the greatness of Agassi. A fantastic player, and someone who’s journey was so varied and so wonderfully HUMAN...that it is truly inspiring
He’s the only player in the ATP to ever Complete the career Super Slam which consists of Winning the Four grand slams + ATP Final + Gold Medal. But I’m wondering what would be the next thing of djokovic wins a gold medal, cuz he is the only one to ever win All 9 Master 1000.
I wasn't here when he still played, sadly. But man I wish I could play against him competitively. Right now I'm just really hoping to get to the ATP tour before Federer drops out. That would be a dream come true. I also started a youtube channel to show my journey and to share my knowledge. Support would be appreciated!😁🙏🏻
Sampras is extremely overated compared to Agassi.Agassi at least got Careee Slam while Sampras was bad on clay. Sampras was and is just overated by this western media like the swiss.
That Swiss has at least 5 titles on 3 different slams and 6 world tour finals. Nadal has only 1 slam where he has 5 titles or more. And how many WTF does Nadal have?😂
Overrated says who? You? Sampras beat all his peers during his era. Winning 14 GS (8 straight seasons with winning at least 1 GS), 11 Masters, 5 YEC and finishing #1 6 straight years is not overrated. No he didn't win career GS, but it doesn't make him overrated. Ask any of his peers during the 90s, and they'll all say Pete was the best of the era, not Andre.
The most "memorable" memory: The ending of his career after the third round loss against Benjamin Becker at the US Open 2006. A lot of emotions on both sides of the screen - Agassi had tears in his eyes and so did I. As another commentary put it, the cleanest ballstriker ever. One of a kind.
Happy birthday Mr André Agassi,my first tennis hero and the purest ballstriker i've seen so far. My best Agassi memory is his first grandslam victory against Ivanisevic at Wimbledon 1992. Love & respect to my hero ❤
Perhaps they should have changed Miami's name to Agassi in the 2000s. People would be saying, "Hey, let's go to Agassi Beach," and "My flight to Brazil next week has a layover in Agassi." Dang, he owned that place.
@@animanga9597 Sampras had the best serve of his era which was a huge help to his volley game. He's fortunate that Agassi was mentally weaker, didn't devote himself to the game as much, and was a bit of a train wreck during the mid to late 90's. Agassi won just about everywhere. Can't say the same for Sampras. Had he played the Australian Open during his first 6 years, that slam count would have been much closer. Agassi was a better all around player. He got the last laugh.

Thanks for the video, Tennis TV! I love Andre so much... Agassi used to own the record for most master title wins, then Novak and Rafa came around and they've set a record with 34 and 35!!! They're are truely monsters of this sport.
Though the slam channels, save for the French Open, are starting to come around with highlights and full replays of past matches. So it's only a matter of time.
No comparison, Djokovic is far more athlete, more fast, more complete player, I doubt agassi could last long 5 hours of a tennis match like the Australian open 2012 final. In my opinion Djokovic would have eaten Agassi alive in their prime
Hell of a player but always kissing up to the crowds in such an insincere phony way! He was desperate for affirmation just like Nole has done the last 10 yrs.
The only person who truly knows whether or not his affection was sincere is, in fact, Agassi. Sometimes, I got the impression that he was desperate for the attention that comes with success. It's not my place to proclaim one way or the other. With his upbringing, it seems he had a very emotional connection to the game from a very young age.
bubufubu Fair assessment, however he came to hate the game at one point. He seem to straighten his life out after meeting Steffi his greatest accomplishment on or off the court!
@@maxwelldewinter It's my guess that Agassi hated the game at many different points in his life. I think he had a great deal of trouble embracing it and appreciating how much the game gave back to him. Agassi was a lot better than his stats indicate. His mental peak was from 99 to 2003 and I think Steffi deserves a great deal of credit for that.
Wanna watch rallies? Watch Blake and Agassi 2005 US Open. No one and I mean no one to this day hits the ball as hard as those two. You'll be exhausted after watching. Cheers!

That's very well said. 👍
Amazing to see what he looked like in 1990 and then his last one in 2004
This really spot lighted how penetrating and powerful his shot was. He put Federer on his heels, that's amazing. He was special!
