Fimi Palm Firmware update and Video Quality Testing

- The Fimi Palm got some firmware updates last week, and I downloaded them through the app and uploaded them to the camera. The IOS version of the app also got updated. The big show stopper with these updates was that 24fps and 48 fps frame rates were added. Until this update the lowest frame was 25fps, which is more of a European standard. So this was good for US owners of the camera.
After updating I did some video quality testing. I shot this F-Log and edited it in Final Cut Pro. I clearly marked the clips where I applied a LUT to footage.

Nice one Ron, I'm getting the Fimi Palm in a month or so, It's on order, The footage looks really good and I like how the wifi and the joystick are on/in the camera so that means you don't have to buy expensive equipment to go with it. Great job.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, I will be doing a lot more video's with it once the Coronavirus lockdowns ease up a bit. I never owned the Osmo pocket, but I agree with you, that having to buying a lot of accessory items put me off on that one. With the Palm, you have everything you need right out of the box. Mine should arrive any day now. I'm in Bangkok and there's lots of spectacular subjects to photo/video as soon as this 'crazy' passes. What is the LUT that was applied to the clip? Where can I learn all the new terminology that comes with a t-3-axis gimballed camera? I enjoyed both parts of your video.

An interesting test would be to see if the nighttime footage is still a bit dark. Another evaluation video looks like it needs EV+2 to be properly exposed.
Great comments and suggestion. I will try that out next I'm out, my weather has been awful lately. Either raining or high winds, I can't win.
At 12:01 while on the beach it looks a little hazy is that from the lut?
Hi Ron, did you update your Firmware using the iphone Fimi Palm app?
Why does the video look choppy and juddery? Is it 24fps? Just asking because if the is the son to be camera on the fimi I'm gonna be some what dissapointed.. It's not just your video though I noticed on a few other reviews with juddery footage

Brian Kushner Yes, Mavic Air 2 on 4/27. Mavic 3 in July. Phantom 5, probably never. And probably a new Osmo. It’s going to be an exciting year for DJI.
