The module isn't strictly the same, look at the shape of the hair and size of the hands. It's the Arcade ver 2 model which changed the tone and overall shading.
The solidity has a lot to do now with the choice of 'pigments' i believe. As well as the chosen position of the projectors on the stage: 2010 had them right on the floor centered, whereas 2016 had them either at the upper corners of the screen or from directly above
So much improvement. I was at Miku Expo NY in 2014 and 2016 and she looks so realistic on stage. I remember having to shake my boyfriend's glowstick for him because he was so amazed with the animation quality that he was in a trance.

They were really bright, had bad contrast, bad colors, and horrible frame rate. In 2016 you can see how fluid it has really become and I can admit she does look like a plastic model but she doesn't have robot movement like she does in 2010.
Epic Replays I'm sorry to say but Miku's model and animation didn't change at all in those years . Sega did last year an update for her hair clothes flow. Other then that its the same thing. The projectors improved so much tho. Like she doesnt have a green face . And maybe the fps display of her projection but i can't be sure on that.And the shader was improved. I first saw Miku on a Toyota ad for the new Corolla, before the first Los Angeles concert. When I saw the ad, with its clip of a live concert, I thought to myself: "Wow. Wouldn't it be great if they really could do such live concerts. That's amazing." Then, with a little searching, I was stunned to learn that the Vocaloids had been performing like this in Japan for years already! When I saw this concert on UA-cam, it was still like magic. I could hardly believe it. I was living in the future! The models and projection, the physics of the clothes and hair, the coordination with the live musicians and technicians; these all showed me a new world. The energy and clear adoration of her fans was so great and genuine. Like magic. I was spellbound, even then.

i just got back from magical mirai and before that miku expo in seattle and la, the models now are phenomenal and its a freaking trip. No matter where you sit its so real looking its insane. I found if you actually wear sunglasses it mutes out some of the glowsticks too so you just see miku, craziness

What's noticeable is also the music and crowd comparison. Back in the 2010 concert the crowd didn't do any of the "ooooooi....hey!" or shout "baka" as loudly. The clear backing vocal quality is a nice addition, as well. I personally think it made the whole experience better, especially if there are any long-term fans somewhere in the crowd. And I'm saddened by the fact I can tell which concert by audio specifically for this song *I'M SUCH AN OLD WEEB*
1:99 the charm of this performance is the clapping in that mid silence between singing, it felt like the clapping was a part of the soundtrack which added a certain charm to it. (in the 2010 vers of the recorded live performance, which i got that BD..)
The animation on 2016 is definitely better than 2010 but you cant deny that the audiences energy on 2010 live concert is much higher and crazier than 2016!
The 2 Miku’s appear the same. Yes. However they are different in lighting, Color use, and Hair width. The 2010 Miku Model does not contain much catch onto the actual hair model due to the light source on the stage. The 2016 Miku Operates the lights properly and Erases Pixel lines.

the 2010 model looks better imo welp, her face looks weird in the 2016 one But really, for 2010, it looks really amazing. The movements are just as fluent. They only did minor fixes on the model (camera quality improved ofc) and the legs look more solid. Maybe someday we'll actually see fluent 3d models, who knows.
2010 definitely wins in my opinion. The model looks much more detailed with reflections on her outfit and in the eyes. The 2016 model feels like they pushed it closer to cartoon and abandoned the lighting and model elements that made her feel more realistic.

What I like about the old ones is that they pop out and they stay on the stage and perform the next music. making it more realistic than just appearing out of nowhere and disappear
It's incredible to see just how well technology has progressed. Hatsune Miku is truely a fantasic development both for music and for technology and I'm sure this and many other reasons is why she is loved across the world.
I love the improvement, but miku always same for me, i like her since im 13 y.o, and now im 19 y.o, but miku always stuck in 17 y.o, idk why they made her age stuck like that, what i know was miku always taking a part in my life with her music thats inspire me going through this life
Wow! Great job!! As far as I can see, some improvements were done by adding more shadow, changing the projector's location, probably changing it to a better one (deals better with luminosity), and using a bigger screen (and perhaps made with a different material). i can only imagine how she will look in 2020.
If your wondering, she still looks the same XD also both glass walls of 2010 and 2016 are made with the same kind of glass, tint. Only difference is that 2016's screen is taller since they always play the intense voice in the days of the mikupa series, they had to make a new glass wall so they dont have to bring a separate screen to display her flying.
When 2010 Miku walked from one side of the stage to the other it would completely blur *-* they adjust the brightness of colours and her self, also not to mention when they do close ups of the old Miku, you can literally see pixels. She's improved so much. She has realistic colouring and clearly it's running at at least 60fps. Yay!!!!
What made this live version different from the studio version is the fact that the backing vocals are redone using Miku's vocals. The original backing vocals were done by a real singer, and you can hear this quite easily if you listen to the instrumental version of this song from the Project Diva games.
ive always loved miku in that performance in 2010 but she looks so much sharper now.. her colors are cleaned up, her movements are better, shes more expressive, its just... amazing. i will say that a lot of times i prefer the older see through hologram look to the new plastic look but shes beautiful either way

It seems that the projection point changed from bottom to the top of the screen. And I can see that there is no more that strange conflict when 2 models need to cross in front of each other, plus some hair movement bugs.

I think both are amazing. The newer one looks more solid but the original was so advanced for its time

But really, for 2010, it looks really amazing. The movements are just as fluent. They only did minor fixes on the model (camera quality improved ofc) and the legs look more solid. Maybe someday we'll actually see fluent 3d models, who knows.

Back in 2010 they used Arcade's model whereas in 2016 they used Future Tone's model.

2010 definitely wins in my opinion. The model looks much more detailed with reflections on her outfit and in the eyes. The 2016 model feels like they pushed it closer to cartoon and abandoned the lighting and model elements that made her feel more realistic.
The difference is incredible and that was 4 years ago, I love another comparison of then and now.

Para mi, es el mismo modelo. Solo se ve mejor, por la mejor calidad de los proyectores.
Este modelo es el Dreamy Theater, que usaban en los Giving day. Pero ya esta descontinuado.
Es una lastima, porque este modelo me gusta mas que el Diva F que usan actualmente. Solo tendrian que actualizarlo un poco.
What I like about the old ones is that they pop out and they stay on the stage and perform the next music. making it more realistic than just appearing out of nowhere and disappear

It's incredible to see just how well technology has progressed. Hatsune Miku is truely a fantasic development both for music and for technology and I'm sure this and many other reasons is why she is loved across the world.

I love the improvement, but miku always same for me, i like her since im 13 y.o, and now im 19 y.o, but miku always stuck in 17 y.o, idk why they made her age stuck like that, what i know was miku always taking a part in my life with her music thats inspire me going through this life

Wow! Great job!! As far as I can see, some improvements were done by adding more shadow, changing the projector's location, probably changing it to a better one (deals better with luminosity), and using a bigger screen (and perhaps made with a different material).

also both glass walls of 2010 and 2016 are made with the same kind of glass, tint. Only difference is that 2016's screen is taller since they always play the intense voice in the days of the mikupa series, they had to make a new glass wall so they dont have to bring a separate screen to display her flying.
2010 is the classic tho so I like it :P

When 2010 Miku walked from one side of the stage to the other it would completely blur *-* they adjust the brightness of colours and her self, also not to mention when they do close ups of the old Miku, you can literally see pixels. She's improved so much. She has realistic colouring and clearly it's running at at least 60fps. Yay!!!!
In 2010, the light can shine through Miku. But in 2016, the light can't even shine through Miku at all. So I think 2016 is better than 2010.

What made this live version different from the studio version is the fact that the backing vocals are redone using Miku's vocals. The original backing vocals were done by a real singer, and you can hear this quite easily if you listen to the instrumental version of this song from the Project Diva games.

ive always loved miku in that performance in 2010 but she looks so much sharper now.. her colors are cleaned up, her movements are better, shes more expressive, its just... amazing.
i will say that a lot of times i prefer the older see through hologram look to the new plastic look but shes beautiful either way

It seems that the projection point changed from bottom to the top of the screen. And I can see that there is no more that strange conflict when 2 models need to cross in front of each other, plus some hair movement bugs.
