      *Do you go to their gym and ask them if they want to spar and let you record or do you have friends who train in these arts? I'm curious because I would like to do something similar here in Europe and I'm thinking to start against Shotokan cause it's easier to find those gyms.*

      @@MartialArtsMoves The Taekwondo black belt was my neighbour 2 years ago, and now he runs a dojang of his own, so I just reached out to him to spar. The karate black belt in the other video is my friend. I never went to a martial arts gym to spar where I don't have a connection because, most of the time, when an outsider goes to spar, it ends up like wars due to ego getting involved.

      I feel like the black belt wasn't utilizing the lead leg side kick NEARLY as much as he should have. The boxer favored a high guard, leaving his ribs wide open. If the tkd fighter had slammed a couple side kicks into his ribs, the boxer would have started to instinctually lower his hands, giving an opportunity for a head kick.

    This is my problem with the new style of taekwondo and is that it no longer leans into the power/full contact era and now leans morely into the point system making it useless in fights that requires one to actually hit with power, Im saying this as a taekwondo player and yes I do agree that the new style is indeed bad with its new style that some call "foot tag" and has been so watered down to the point that its nothing but a shadow of its former self(Mostly the power and combo era, the one that I was trained under). Good video overall! I recommend you to go find an ITF TKD gym since theyre mostly taught about practicality and how to throw punches, its like kickboxing.

    *Hahahahaha, man, **4:11** was the funniest! The black belt looked like he was controlling the match till you countered him and he fell. That's the problem with these long telegraphic kicks, they're strong if they connect, but you can easily counter them if you move in fast and then they're in trouble. Kicking only is not working out for them.*

      Lol, he did not fall. That's a spinning hook kick. He is not supposed to land that in light sparring.

      @@LCokun - I re-watched it a few times and it looks like he did fall but tried to kick while he was falling because his legs are up. Sorry, I'm not a TKD guy so not sure if that's an actual move or not, but at first glance he seemed like he tripped over as he got overwhelmed with punches.

    • @LCokun
      @LCokun 5 місяців тому +1

      @@MartialArtsMoves it used to be more common before the foot-fencing oriented rulesets. The main reason it is not as common nowadays is because they penalize TKD athletes for falls.
      The technique itself does not require them to fall, but I guess a lot of people thought that aid them with momentum, and also looks cooler (like the kyokushin wheel kick).
      You can see some people connecting that kick in the video below. And again, not all of the ones using it let themselves fall to the ground.

    YOOOO thats not a black belt.. stop.. stoood in one spot.. didnt move... didnt feint... and then breaks the number 1 white belt rule.. don't lead with a kick.. and that kick looked like my friends if i asked them to try to do one of my kicks... no bucking or feinting moving of center, faking back fist into some kick or anything... This is why people say taekwondo sucks... because fake schools put this stuff out there... im not trying to be mean but this literally dishonors all of taekwondos rich history. ANyome watching.. this is not takeowndo i promise.

      He actually is a 2nd Dan black belt, but whether he possesses the skills of a 2nd Dan is a different topic. I don’t know much about Taekwondo, so I can't really comment on that. I'm actually thinking of transitioning to MMA, so I have a question about what you said: 'Don’t lead with a kick.' What happens when we lead with a kick? And if not, what should we lead with instead?

Dan FItness and Taekwondo, or DOniies Taekwondo and Kungfu, Ultimate karate!, Westside Martial Arts.. crap like that.. non of that is real.. a real taekwondo school will literally say Taekwondo and our door is a seal of the World T and Internation T as well as our Masters Name.. fake schools with mcfdojo frauds there students look like your black belt guy here and the school has a weird name and no seal on the door, no master name, and no Korean flag... check out my channel. i posted a few muay Thai taekwondo matches and muay Thai versus boxing..

    Rushing in the way you did worked well against the green belt but The black belt used a good strategy of kicking you when you were at kicking range and when you came close he clinched you every time before pushing you back to kicking range, id suggest if you spar him or somekne else with that stretgy again you should try to utilize your jab more in that scenerio so you create and mintain a long boxing range, try to be just in the right range where you're close enough to make it inconvenient to kick but far enough to be at the end of your punches so if your opponent can also punch or box you dont make his life easy and if he is using this stretgy than he'll have a really hard time clinching you since he will need to close the distance a little more and a kicker likely doesnt know how to close the distance for a clinch from boxing range

    Boxing is very basic and worls well quickly.. Takeowndo takes some time before you arent goofy but in the end taekwondo has higher skill cap than boxing. If you got 5 months to prepare to defend yourself... go boxing.. if you want your kid to be safe for life and become really good in the end... Taekwondo all day... 10 years of Taekwondo Hard Contact FIGHTING not point sparring versus 10 years of boxing... no boxing rules... Boxer has a high chance of leg injury.. might get caught with a kick... boxer will need to blitz wild and get to that head.

    • @Dakshhpathak
      @Dakshhpathak  3 місяці тому

      From my experience so far, it really depends on the martial artist, not just the martial art. Taekwondo might have an edge with more tools and in long-range situations, but boxing has its own advantages too. That’s just my personal opinion, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!

      @@Dakshhpathak yeah no worries its a bight and day difference at the top level.. or even ad a "mature" level of your craft... most people are just kicking in the air tho... like they are spamming moves. Boxers slip and dip and you cannot do that in taekwondo.. boxers will get kicked in the head when they lean by round kicks, kicked in the knee when they jab, kicked in the chest when they rush.. its not impossible for a boxer but its like a kid vs an adult.. it is possible and there are many really really really unatheletic and uninteligent adults...but in reality.. a prime adult is going to beat a preadolescent kid with EASE. Boxing has waaaay to much disadvantage to taekwondo.. like boxers lean/slip, and dip.. can't do that in a kicking world.. lead with the front leg loaded.. open chest stance... taekwondo's narrow stance is for insane mobility and explosiveness... in a real world where its a real taekwondo class.. bozers are awestruck. its not even the same world.. its like going to Boy Scouts.. man its legit and you learn a lot.. lots of prestige... but don't tell me that a boy scout is give or take the same level of skill as the army.. like come on lol I can do a twisting double front flip into a 720-degree jackknife kicking to target with knockout power with my feet while up side down in the air doing a barrel roll.. then we have my boxers friends.. 1-2 1-2 slip rip to the body come on lol

    Great video, it’s really insightful and shows us how tkd fighters perform against fighters with hands but why didn’t the tkd guys wear gloves? Taekwondo has punching after all and it seems like they weren’t able to use it because they didn’t have gloves

      @@HuevosDelDragon Thanks for watching! I'm glad you found the video insightful. Regarding the gloves, you're right-Taekwondo does include punching techniques. @@Dakshhpathak the way he fell down after those kicks was funny. I found this to be a big problem in general when sparring if you throw too many kicks or take too long doing them, cause you get countered fast by someone with good footwork.
