- mbv - live at Dingwalls, Camden, London 12th September 1988 supported by Summerhill and The Train Set. This is just an excerpt from their set which was a constant battle between the band and the soundman.... mbv won in the end with this brutal 15 minute version of Clair. Search our homepage for more mbv gig uploads that we haven't been forced to remove by their 'people'.
Can I hear Bungalow Bill by The Beatles somewhere in there?!
I was there! I *may* have been the idiot who shouted ‘Smash It Up’ at the beginning….😂😂
I was there too..right up the front..got in for free with a copy of Sounds
best band on the planet
Sounds like they’re doing some training for You Made Me Realise! Its almost got that chaotic early Butthole Surfers sound about it! 😅….probably the best band ever to come out of Ireland. Saw them in Cork in ‘88… what a revelation to my young ears at the time.
1990 in Cork (Sir Henry's)
I think I have 2 audience recordings of this infamous show, both with cuts here and there... too bad this new recording, which sounds better, is not complete, but at least we have 'Clair', probably the best song in the concert and, as someone said already, it looks like this long version was the training for 'You Made Me Realise' noise section they did in the following years. In fact I uploaded years ago a version of this song for that reason here: ua-cam.com/video/z7hJ62-IHFg/v-deo.html
We do have the complete recording but we've been having a lot of hassle from mbv's 'people' who keep requesting take-downs for their live stuff we post on youtube even though our recordings are decent quality and they allow some really sh!t quality stuff to stay up there. So unfortunately until one of their people tells us it's ok, we are only going to upload one song per gig as we expect it to be taken down. We did have a Fulham Greyhound one up a while back (not your one - but one from a couple of month later) but that got taken down... also with a great version of Clair!
@@DOTHEMOOZIK Thanks for the explanation! Sad to read that though, hope you can upload it someday.
Noizeeeey 😂
some very strange noises in amongst all that!
I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that. At one point in the cacophony of noise, I'm sure I heard people screaming..... and I know it wasn't the crowd. When they reformed and did the extra long and intense live version of YMMR, I could also hear strange noises within the mix which didn't sound at all guitar created.
@@DOTHEMOOZIK I wondered if they maybe had some pre-recorded tape sounds mixed in. Like you I heard wailing and screaming : O
