I tend to shine a torch down the neck of the coolant tank, the reflection off the coolant is usually enough to be able to see how full it is. Or failing that, hold the torch upto the side of the coolant tank. They are a nightmare aren't they!
Could be a few reasons. Faulty thermostat, low coolant levels, a blockage caused by something like stop-leak etc. Thermostats are fairly cheap so it may be worth changing it to see if it helps
@patrykmatyjasik979 the voltage is too low to be shocked from a car Battery (unless your working on something like the coil packs, starter motor, alternator etc). You could risk a short circuit but considering your only unplugging one connection, that is surrounded by a plastic housing, this is very unlikely.
@patrykmatyjasik979 with a lot of cars the negative terminal uses a quick release clamp so if your ever unsure you could just take the negative side clamp off :)
@@PandaProjectuk In my opinion an absolute legend of an engine. My Punto has covered 150,000 miles (tons of care and servicing plus an oil "bypass filter" that keeps said oil clean. No nasty noises, valve clearances exactly where they're supposed to be as well. Well done on your video mate 😊
Giving this a shot today! Cheers, bud!
Hope it helped ! 👌
@@PandaProjectuk Took me 2 hours, that included taking a break and having basically no prior knowledge :) Thanks for the help!
Great video, can I ask you,on the coolant bottle,it’s so hard seeing the level in between min and max,any tips

Thanks for this, just what i needed
Glad I could help! 😁
Is this process the same if the panda has aircon? Or is anything else in the way of the thermostat? Cant remember if yours has AC or not 🙂
Super.Big Thanks!
No problem! :D
Nice one lad!
Thanks! :D
@4:39 open the what valve?
Bleed valve :) sorry
Gut, und schnell gemacht
If my heater on my panda is blowing lukewarm air (not hot) when on level 4 heat setting, is it likely to be due to the thermostat being faulty?

Bravissimo!!
Do I have to disconnect the battery for this?
No not really
@PandaProjectuk I've heard from someone that u always need to disconnect it because there is risk to being shocked while working on the car lol

@@PandaProjectuk Okay, thanks for explaining that!

Where is the thermostat located on Fiat Palio 1.2 Active (2008 model)
I can imagine it's in a very similar place as this video

Very clearly explained 👍
