The time they put in long before the players arrive and long after they leave sure is impressive. It goes to show just how much work it takes to play 9+ innings huh?
Back in the 80s this was the worst infield in majors, and that was during the artificial turf era when players despised playing on turf. Now it’s perfect!! Great job
Not arguing but how could anywhere in Southern California have the worst turf in MLB? I mean, you had Arlington Stadium in the middle of Texas summers to compete with. Atlanta's field wasn't far behind.
4 hours to double cut the outfield? Thats horrible, you guys need to come practice on golf courses, we could walk mow and double cut in 2 hours or less with the straightest lines. Practice on a golf course, nothing is flat and our lines are always straight.

@@alexmercado1702 this shit is easy as fuck, you do know golf courses are 100 to 1,000 times bigger than this. We walk mow 1 sq acre every day, thats 3 people cutting 21 greens, 18 plus practice putting green, prsctice chipping green and nursery green
@@alexmercado1702 we also double cut a lot, meaning cut everything than do it a different pattern without dew or anything to show you where you cut besides the patterns but for some people with Bermuda fairways and greens there is no pattern unless you certain cultivars of Bermuda that do stripe
The grounds crew does more work than the actual players.
I get what you're saying but no. Only about 1/3 of the games are at home so the players work less hours but the grounds crew has less work
@@laa0fa502 The Grounds crew works every day. Not just home games.
@@MsCwebb but that doesn't require the full crew. It's usually just 1 or 2 guys doing all the standard upkeep
@@laa0fa502 Yeah only a few full timers

Interesting
Thanks for watching!
I work on the grounds crew for a triple A team. It’s the best way to spend a summer!
Wow, sounds amazing!! What's your favorite part of the job?
Ive been there an caught puig home run ball! One of the best experiences of my life!

I agree totally! Just check out the 1988 World Series! Dead grass all over the whole field!
Wow, you are bringing us wayyyy back! Thanks for watching

It’s honestly annoying how these guys who make the games possible are never talked about. If we didn’t have them we wouldn’t have games here
This is such a good take. We tried to shed some light on that with this piece and I'm glad you brought that up. Thanks for watching Jared.
My dad Milton Creange was a groundskeeper in the 70s I grew up at dodger Stadium but back then it was just him and another man Scotty
Wow! He must have some amazing stories to tell!
god blessed the grounds keepers of dodger stadium. the best stadium in the world.

Nah, life led me down a different path. I’m living a dream, just not that one. It still looks like an amazing job though.

Pretty impressive. Those are reel mowers not the crappy rotary mowers.
Anyone else expecting a Scottish accent
Great
Thanks so much for watching
They also have the best weather conditions, it’s probably a lot harder to do the same job in Cleveland.
Good point!
dope
Thank you for checking it out!

The field looks great, but god that stadium is dated with beige everywhere.
It’s supposed to be colored like a beach you can see it if you look
No duh it’s the second oldest stadium in baseball
@@shookieshakers8450 it’s the third oldest, still 50 years newer than Fenway and Wrigley, those stadiums don’t look like crap either.
Thank you so much!
They said they water the field at noon. What if it’s a noon game?
They’re screwed I guess
@@cgreene0901, yeah.

It looks like there’s only one guy doing it though. Golf courses have 3-4 guys on greens and multiple on tri plex machines or fairway units
Ya come to golf course and try to cram 10x what these guys in a day laser straight lines and tell me about grounds maintenance.

Fenway park has a better field then they do. Hand down. Prove me wrong.
I don't see any Mexican landscapers
SFG jersey buried under 1 st base !
