I have 2 smooth haired dachshunds. One is 23 months and the other is 10 weeks from same parents. I love how your videos are informative and educational.
After watching your video I taught my puppy drop it which worked and has been very helpful as he is often picking up items that he finds ...such as socks and kleenex which he considers found treasure
I was so shocked when this video was in my recommended as we've met before. I used to come to the walks around Devon and attended your dachshund birthday camp :) you look well and the videos are very informative. Well done you! X
I just found your channel yesterday and of course, subbed. I have 4 long-haired mini females and I adore the breed. Currently binging your great content. Thanks. 🐶
Hey just Letting you know your videos are great pretty soon im getting a dachshund puppy and im trying to learn as much as i can about them so your videos are very informational which i love. Keep doing your videos there great.
Great video. My 16 year old longhaired dachshund, Domino, died in October 2020. I am very sad as I miss him terribly. The waiting list for much of the USA is 1-2 years, since so many people are adopting dachshunds during confinement. I may not get to adopt my new baby boy until late 2021 or 2022, so I’m living in a house with the joy of a dachshund. I’m waiting the best I can. I love seeing you play with your puppies because I love training mine, too. I’m praying my wait is shorter than expected, but I am not optimistic. I’ll watch you and your guys in the meanwhile. Thank you for the joy you gave me today.
Another great video, tnx! First four commands I train them alike, but drop it is really useful to learn! We will try it out tomorrow 🙂. How do you manage to teach them recall? I would appreciate any tip about that. Thanks and have a nice day!
@@lennysixdachshunds1069 my puppy is going and playing with strangers...It needs to be stopped.... going with everyone is not good....can u pls tell a way either how to bark at strange( not necessary really) or not to go with strangers😀😀
When you are training a puppy and you need to practice the out command ( to ask them to leave the room) first would you bring the puppy into the room then ask them to leave then reward them once they have left the room??
@@lennysixdachshunds1069 also could you make a video on everything you need to do when you get a puppy like the first few weeks and like what food you recommend and stuff like that I’ve watched all your videos and I need to learn more and your doing great at teaching all of us 🙂🙂🙂🙂
@@lennysixdachshunds1069 sorry if I’m being annoying but I’m going to be training my girl on my own and I’m quite young so I need all the help I can get 😂
G’day ....hope this finds you well. When do you recommend that we spay our 6 month tweenie Lola? She has not been in heat yet.......I’ve read different opinions - Thank YOU!!!
Lenny, is the Kennel Club the best place to seek a reputable breeder? I have (arguably) the sweetest dachshund, in the history of the world, (: but sadly, and despite being athletic in build, he suffered IVDD when he was 5 and a half. It was heartbreaking. He walks with a permanent wobble now but he's a happy boy. He has completely spoilt me - I couldn't consider another breed, but also am scared to get him a doxie pal, as I can't bear the thought I'd be going through the IVDD risk, all over again. Is it simply something one cannot avoid, or is there a bloodline which is less likely to end up with IVDD? My vet quoted me the statistic that 1 in 4 dachshunds carries a faulty gene that means the odds are high of back injuries, even though you keep your doxi in excellent conditions.
Hey Lenny, my wife and I recently started thinking about getting a dachshund and since then I've been binging your videos. Love them! Enve seems like a great kibble, but doesn't seem to be easily available in the U.S. Do you know of any comparable brands in the USA?
Totally up to you based on your puppies energy levels and interest in training :) a couple times a day is usually possible and keeps them calm and tired lol xx
Hello!! Could you please do a video on re-training your dog to stay in a crate? We originally trained our pup to sleep in his crate with the door open, and a little gap to get out and stretch his legs if needed. Now when we try to close the crate on him, he gets really anxious and cries a lot, even if we have our hand in the crate and stroke him . Any tips? Thank you so much.
Lenny, Love your videos! I'm getting my dachshund puppy in less than 9 hours, what I am wondering is if you work on all 5 commands at once or do you separate them all? Thanks in advance!!
Hi Lenny I’ve entered! @tashajadek our new pup will be making the transition to enve very soon ☺️ first bag brought the other day! P.s thank you for all the fab videos! X
I have tried and tried to teach my dachshund puppy (1 year old now) to roll over. Each time she will down, then go to her side a little, but flip back to standing up rather than roll. Do you have any tips?
Do you have any advice on house-breaking a dachshund puppy in an apartment community? I am worried that my only outdoor space is used by other dogs & I don’t want my puppy to get parvo
Sorry what product placements is that? I don’t get sponsored by anyone for my videos. If there’s products in there it’s because they’re valid to the training. Here’s a tip for you that requires no video watching. BE KIND! Don’t be a dick
I've entered! My Instagram handle is @nguyen.brianna (hopefully this giveaway is open internationally) Also, I love your channel! My girl is coming to me at the start of March and I've been binging your videos in preparation :)
Thank you! The under the legs version of lie down worked! This one was tough for my puppy :)
I’m obsessed with your videos, they make me so happy - I cannot wait to rewatch these again when I pick up my pup in a month’s time☺️❤️
Awww thanks so much xx

If they do not follow through with the command, do you still give the treat or are you just repeating the functions of the command again

Hey! I’m not sure. I think Orijen is available in the US if so that’s a great kibble also :) best of luck!

When can I start training my pup? I will be getting mine in 6 weeks.
You can start from pretty much day one! As it’s fun for them and bonding :)
Hi can I have some advice on weather you think this breeder a decent one?
Yeah! You can message me on Instagram?
How does he knows what drop it means ?
My dog just stands up an walks towards her kibble whenbi try to pull it away from her

Hey Sophia!
Sorry I missed this! If you pop me a message on Instagram I’ll voice memo you some advice :) it’s quicker than typing x
Do you use a new toy, or one they already play with?
One they already see as a reward :) x
Skip to the 5:00 minute mark to get to the actual video. The 5 minute entry is just product placement, a few obvious "tips", and a lot of rambling.
