$70,000 kit right there. Hes a god so it makes sense
BEST COMMMENT! Whoever mfr'd these are truly amazing drumsmiths .
Yea true but every drum brand wants him to buy their products
Where do you get this number from. It's still reasonable but just want to check the source.
My grandfather made these at a brass shop in the Midwest, he actually made all 3 kits
Dang dude that’s dope. Does he hook you up with anything?
Incredible
Thank you, I was under the impression that it was a very good wrap. This is absolutely mind boggling that they are made of cast copper / brass. The snare sounds amazing opened, unlike any other ive heard.
I seen Tool play in Detroit in 2019 and the entire show I couldn't not watch Danny the entire time , I was mesmerized by his drumming he's a god amongst peasants.
All we need now is a new album...see you in 2020.
See you August 30th 2019! 😁
You still waiting around lol
Chris L did you see that he gave you the release date of Fear Inoculum
2020 is a trap stay in 2019!
Beautiful
This instrument brings me comfort man
Love it
I see Tama Starclassic Diecast claws and spurs on the bass drums. Nice! Danny only uses the 2 cast bronze bass drums live with a few rototoms and a regular floor Tom and a custom Sonor 20” gong drum. So he definitely still has a relationship with Sonor. He also swaps one rotototom with an 8” rack tom. In an interview in 2020 right after the zombie apocalypse hit, he said he’s working on a new setup with a new kit with some custom graphics.
Wicked eye there my man👍
How does he get the hi-hat in the middle, like how does he connect the pedal to it?
It's a Pearl Eliminator Remote hi-hat, RH-2000. www.long-mcquade.com/2255
The more recent version of the same product is the RH-2050. www.long-mcquade.com/102675
@@longandmcquade Oh i see, thanks for the reply!
I believe Danny Carey uses a Remote Cable Hi-Hat and Pedal with 14" Paiste Formula 602 Hi-Hat Cymbals. Isn't that kit amazing! Gold plated hardware!
@@dauntevivone3578 Ooh yes also i think molten and then molded right?
Drumology🤓
I thought my Gretsch USA kit was heavy lol. Imagine having to pack these drums 😳
Probably why he only plays it in the states. Maybe Canada, Mexico, possibly South America, but over sees would be out of the question
@@Jeff-ok6dr In the 70s Carl palmer(Emerson Lake and Palmer) drum was about 2,5 tons(!!) and Emerson synth about 400lbs. They toured over sees, not only in uk, 50 years ago, so why would it be impossible today with Danny's drum which is much lighter?
That’s the prettiest drum set I’ve ever seen
anyone know how he's racking the mandalas... specifically the name of triangular purple flat metal pieces on the sonor rack?
he doesnt use a rack, theyre just held up by stands and mounts. thats the cool thing ab his kit theres no rack, just intricate hardware, clamps and stands
HOT!!!
Amazing kit. But who is that pic of under his drum stool and why is it there?
That's none other than The Hoff. That's where Danny looks for inspiration and draws his powers from.
What kind of electric drums does Danny Carey use?
He uses Synesthesia Mandala electronic drum pads, co-designed by Vince DeFranco and Danny himself.
So Danny Carey likes the old Pearl Eliminators?
the eliminator pedal looks like it's for his remote hats
what are the flat things called ? hexagonal ? can't find info
Those are Synesthesia Mandala drum pads.
@@longandmcquade thanks
The bass drums weigh about 90lb each....😟
@Sean Tillman Jeez. I'm not sure those kick sounds *THAT* good. 😁
@@drumrnva no, they really don't. Bronze is best left to the snare
1:37 xD
Who is him?
We're not too sure but we think he drives a black Trand Am and wears a red bathing suit.
Do you think Sam Ash will be offering any sales on those replicas? 🤣👍
I’d hate the be his drum tech. He’ll need a chiropractor on tour with him LOL LOL.
He did in fact injure his back working on this kit. True story.
You'd need a team to move these and set them up again.
Where is his hi hat pedal though?
This kit has a Pearl remote hi-hat. The cymbals are positioned between the two rack toms, and the pedal itself is positioned in the typical location, just to the left of the left bass drum pedal. You can see the heel of the remote hi-hat pedal at 1:36, next to Mr. Hasselhoff.
I thought Danny played Sonor?
pretty sure this was a joint project between them
"By Jeff Ocheltree."
When Danny plays wooden drums, he goes with Sonor. But Sonor wasn't involved with this project. Jeff Ocheltree (we'll over-simplify his resume by calling him a drum builder and pioneer drum tech) made this kit out of recycled and melted down Paiste Signature cymbals.
Price?
Just what Carl Palmer needs...more drums.
Priceless.
3 toms?
Double that!
6 toms mate.
Most i've ever seen DC use is two up two down.
Nice to show drums and not let audience hear it. Good job.
This set was for display only. Letting the audience hear it would have likely resulted in our prompt removal from the NAMM Show.
1:36?
The Hoff.
NAMM 2019 but the KIT was created in the early 2000s
wish we could see the actual kit he uses in all the 2019s shows. it's the most majestic instrument I have ever seen live.
this bronze here is incredible, but a gimmick.
Gimmick? Its an absolutely amazing 3 of a kind precision instrument. Tf you on about?
@@steveh7418 I mean let's be real, he took ownership of it not long after lateralus, and personally CHOSE NOT to use the kit on 10,000 days for a single track. He also has been choosing to not use this with his side projects at venues like the baked potato, nor did he use it for more than a slim few shows period. He reportedly didn't use it on a single track for Fear Inoculom, nor to showcase the unveiling of the new tracks live. He usually ALWAYS sticks with his trusty natural finished Sonor drums sourced primarily from Oak for floor Toms and kicks and Remo toms up top-even used those to record Fear, not just for practicality, he likes the attack.) He has been using his signature bronze snare often, as well as a custom bronze snare with 2 sets of throw offs- never been spotted with that Paiste snare outside of promos for Paiste. So... tf were you on about again, to borrow your expression? 🤣🤙
@@soulintake I dont know my dude, you are in there pretty deep sniffing on dudes ballsack but I will stand by my opinion that if one of the top drum builders crafts an instrument and top 10 drummers of our time used them for a record and tour they arent merely a "gimmick." Danny has unlimited funds and options so no surprise that he wants to go a different direction and play some other drums. My point still holds water.
@@steveh7418He never used them for a tool tour more than a one or 2 night affair- PAID PROMOTION (which worked on you like a charm). He DIDNT ever use them on ANY RECORDING...PERIOD. Wtf don't you get about that? He only covered ONE song of his after he used oak drums originally on the recording for an advertisement for Paiste. Ball sniffing... grow up man
@@soulintake Worked on me like a charm? Lol I didnt solicit Jeff Ocheltree to make me a kit big daawg. Fact is Danny played them and one of the finest builders out there put them together. You can call that a gimmick if you want but agree to disagree. Yeah, a ballsniffer, brown noser whatevs mang, when you are that deep into every intimate detail of the dudes career just admit you are a little curious what his bag smells like.
the kiks are 22 and 24 inch buddy!!!
The kicks of his Sonor Designer and Signature kits are 22" (right) and 24" (left), but this Paiste/Ocheltree kit has both 22"x18" bass drums. It is true that Jeff Ocheltree did make a 24"x16" kick as well, but that's not what is on display here.
Why ruin those beautiful drums with ec2s?
Since the shells are all metal, there were probably some ringing overtones that needed to be tamed.
Since when do ec2s ruin drums? XD
Why not some sort of gold-diamond alloy. I mean, the man is a percussion god. Gods should get better than that great shit. I want him to have something as glitchy good as his rhythmic beats. I know I'm phkd for saying that but am I wrong?
