@@YourMom-iy6cv Yes I know INTPs can do that too to some extent. But that's a different process really. Like through empathy I can actually feel the emotions of someone else and adopt a behavior. It's not just about understanding but also a real emotional connection. My mood can directly be influenced by other people's mood. That's why people who usually say INFJs are fake are simply wrong on that. That's what the chameleon term usually stands for for INFJs. We adopt the "colors" of others basically. That's the INFJ reason why they struggle to know themselves. Others take too much space to let us breathe. It's like a blank page everyone writes on.

My problem is, I am an INFP, BUT my percentage was like 52% feeling and 48% thinking and now my values and logics are having a constant battle on how I should live my life like… it’s so frustrating and confusing that I’m actually feeling like going insane from time to time… anyways- I guess for me it really depends on topic and situation on what type I “am” (I guess at least)

If I watch two videos with, say, "20 words that define you as an INTP/INTP", about 10 words in one and 10 in the other describe me more closely.
If we have a developed fourth function, also, we may think we have Ti as primary due to our large Te as fourth (same for Fe as fourth and Fi as first).
The solution to the conundrum is, I believe, to find within ourselves what we'd choose if we were compelled to go one way or another.
Between cuddles, and puzzles, I'd choose cuddles. That's how I know my type is INFP, although everyone finds me highly and ceaselessly argumentative about "irrelevant logical details", if I am startle by any small inconsistency in someone's speech or statements (let alone actions), and so on.
Same here. I'm infp but 5w4. As value and logic as near same percentage, everywhere, in every situation i fall on dilemma of selecting options because i have both value and logical options, it makes more prolong time to take decision and action most of the time logic win but i also care about value.

Yeah, I get 53% thinking 47% feeling on 16P, but you should look at a test like Sakinorva so that you can find your cognitive functions.
Unfortunately I get Ti and Fi that are neck to neck, Ne being the strongest, however the supporting and shadow functions look more INxP than ENxP so... now I have 4 types I'm between instead of just 2 (ie, all the NP types) 😭

I’m an INTP but I used to type as an INFP/J on 16 personalities when I was feeling passionate lol. I’d be more emotional so I’d answer more like an INFP would I guess. I think I have better developed Fi then normal INTPs because I am a very moral person. However, at the end of the day I value logic and reason above all else. Morality is subjective, logic isn’t. That’s why I like it more. Besides I agree with the philosophies of Kant, that basically, the logical thing is to be a good person. So I feel like my morals come from a place of logic as well instead of a place of emotion. Not that I don’t get emotional. Quite to the contrary actually. I unfortunately have quite the anger issue so I defiantly am not an “emotionless robot” tho I wish I were. My blood pressure would be alot better 😅
Edit: another reason I know I’m an INTP is when you described values versus logic and said “so Fi is better” I screamed out loud in retaliation “no Ti is obviously better!” 😂

How would you develop fi, if it's not part of the cognitive stack of an INTP?
@@efrainjimenez997 You use ALL 8 cognitive functions. People just use some more than others and that’s where the stacks come in. Every type uses every cognitive function sometimes tho. My “ego” as they say is an INTP but the superego of an INTP is ISFP so we can still access those cognitive functions. You have your main type which is your ego, and then you have your secondary subconscious types that you go into during states of stress, your ego is your set type but not your only type. The superego for my type like I said is ISFP. The unconscious is ENTJ, and the subconscious is ESFJ. So I can come off like all of those types depending on the situation I am in.
Ti users believe logic is subjective, not objective.
I always put put values over logic when making decisions, although I try not to be too illogical cause that would cause problems, gotta make use of that inferior Te.

I have a hard time separating them. If it's illogical it's wrong because it won't work. If it's morally wrong, I sure as hell am not going to assert that without some solid evidence, and if it contradicts me, well, I'm going to change my mind, now, won't I?
I identify with both, I'm in the middle...
Also all tests (including cognitive functions) turn out either INTP or INFP, with T and F 50/50. I think I'll never figure this out (it's been years of testing).
I also identify a little with the freedom fighter ISFP and the quiet pragmatic ISTP, but if I can I'll spend most of the time in my head daydreaming of a bettter world, and my N is very high.
I think it's ok, if you feel stuck between to types. You still get to learn a lot about yourself

Damn, I have considered those 4 types for myself as well. I understand that the infp and istp stacks couldn't be more different, and same for intp and isfp, but still..
My MBTI test result said that I'm an INTP. And I do relate to INTP videos- I like analysing and solving problems (I LOVE chemistry, and I've been told many times (or joked with) when I was young that I don't have emotions.
However, I'm actually a crybaby. I cry easily when I get unexpectedly hurt by some joke, when I'm too angry, or when I'm very happy. I also tend to cry even when I'm just daydreaming things.
So I've been confused these past 3 weeks. Am I actually an INTP? Or just an INFP with good logical reasoning skills?

2:26 I am not sure about the solid conclusions thing at least for INTPs. You always have to be open to new variables and new information and if you don't know everything you need it is very difficult to come to a solid plan so a flexible plan is needed.
1:52 But my value judgment is how logical the decision is. Although INTPs do have values and that is normally in their mental formula. They are also well-thought out values typically where I find a lot of other types values that they hold so dear do not actually hold up well when under heavy logical scrutiny which is concerning as they are normally making decisions off of sub-optimal or worse detrimental values because of this.
Well sure you don't always have all the data and new data can change your conclusions, but when you do come a conclusion they are based on more solid things then feelings.
Well I think that's the difference, The INFPs values are based on feelings and personal experience, but INTPs values are based more so on reason. And at least to me the word values has a more emotional root to it.

Like someone robbed a lady I have said in the past would assume I would not get involved but surprsinglyI chased him. Very odd because it was a very unwise thing to do, guy could have had a weapon and it is unlikely I would beat him in a fight even if he was unarmed. Not sure why I did it very odd.
@@fbibarbie had a similar situation as an intp. I would always say I would never put myself in danger for strangers but one night I saw a man chasing a woman and grabbing her. I shouted what the fuck are you doing after getting really close behind the man and he shat himself. Turns out woman was a sex worker and they were playing around. After that they called a taxi for me and helped me find my friends address by calling him because my battery was dead and I was lost.
doesnt infp do that new varaiables with info too like i often just want info to be as accurate as possible and i hack a lot in games to find the easiest answer but also love when info makes the most sense always but im pretty sure im a fi user. maybe its ne?
INTP and INFP are very similar, at least some of them. In the end it's what path you'd pick if compelled to take one that tells you which of the two types you are most.
Both types are highly logical and emotional (behind the appearances). One is just still more emotional, the other still more logical.
And yet I relate to both.

@@bethanysingsmrs849 Ah, one of my good friends is an ENTP and is autistic, we've noticed his functions work differently to accommodate for certain aspects of his autism. Instead of Fe it's like he uses Fi, for example.

I think I just overationalize things a lot and people online can mistake me as a ti user cuz I like having things really accurate and I have like 90 tabs open and 100 more of just random stuff (also have adhd tho lol), and dont fit the infp stereotype ig. LOL I am an INFP. I switched to an INTP when solving real life problems, like financial issues or trying to explain things logically to other people. I switched back to INFP in terms of relationship and love, which I found being more comfortable with.

A person don't change personality, you just evolve it from childhood to your mature age, you must have developed your personality's cognitive functions

soso, the test gavee me infp almost everytime, and in general i do agree, but i figured i dont really "do" emotions, like im not a cold robot or smth, but i usually dont feel sad and rarely am i angry(sibling r my expetion) and other than that, usually im pretty logical with my decicions and stuff, but than i studied cognitive funtions and like, i relate to both ti, te, fe, and fi. wtf is that even possible? other than that i also rlly like fantasy, and my mind makes no sense even to me, but usually my imagination has slight logic, like storied i make always have explainations, but idk, maybe im just an intp, or a rlly logical infp, idkidk
infps can value logic and can also value ti without having ti so we often can obsess over rationalizing things and looking for every different kind of interpretation of logic possible, because its what we can value and we raelly feel comfortable wit hit and its fi but it looks like ti
Simpler way to differentiate is what is your first mode of operation, you can go from ti then fi as an extension of your over thinking things behavior, and vice versa. It's about which one you put in the first order and also the one you always feel dragged into to tell the difference.
For example i always think first, and then, extending to my Fi demon. Also i struggle with Fe (weak function). And i could just neglect my own Fi. Thus i'm an intp. I think it's pretty obvious now. Also, intp tends to oversharing about their theories, and infp tends to be listener and not really into theories.
On my understanding, the MBTI does not claim to is logic and facts while fi os emotion.
In MBTI system, thinking and feeling can both be either logical or illogical, because all feelings are based on thoughts, which may be logical or illogical.
The idea that INFPs throw facts and logic to the wind or that INTPs are always having logical thoughts is inaccurate, and highly Cartesian. A better channel would be “Love Who”. He actually knows how the system works.

Really focus on the Fi-Te or Ti-Fe axis to figure it out. Do you get room vibes from people (Fe) or read individual emotional states (Fi)? Are you stubborn when it comes to your idea being better (usually Ti)? Do you always think about why is everything the way it is (Ti)? Do you care about statement pieces (Fi)? Do you care more if you will upset people (Fe) with your opinion or being truthful about your feelings (Fi)?
And for Ti, Te stuff:
Does your solution need to work (Te) or be correct/perfect (Ti)? Do you care a lot about utility (Te)? Do you need to figure things out for yourself as first instinct (Ti)?

Intps have ET nemesis, so 1:45 -:53 is a bit off. Good, practical common sense, is strictly speaking, illogical, and some how always contrary to the frontiers of scientific evidence. Time honored hueristic is no substitute for proof. Having any agency in the world us a betrayal of scientific disinterest. You know how as an Infp deeper personal values are somehow always in conflict with social harmony; or how expectations of social harmony are always in conflict with a vision of a more purely harmonious society which is in tune with the soul of every individual? As an Entp, I think it's like that but with efficient technocratic social climbing verses with seeking the transcendental truth of any possible universe in an ontological, rather than epistemic, coherentism. "Math" is very beautiful for them, I'm saying. They really value you it; to such an extent that every other application of the intellect seems a bit immoral.

How does your relationship looks like?
The test thinking that valuing emotions and being rational are opposites is low IQ. An actual matter of fact analysis does consider your own emotions. "Will this make me happy?" is an essential part of any reasonable pro and con list. The distinction should be between impulsivity and rationality not emotionality and rationality.

It puzzles me how INTPs out of all types seem to be so into this system and take it very seriously...you know a system that has no science backing it up whatsoever and is pretty much made on the basis of pure speculation. Kind of ironic 😂

It helps them to build new knowledge and ideas and they also analyze the speculation. Before a thing becomes a fact, it started from a speculation.
as an intp: I hope it might help me understand people better and get along. I had a very interesting discussion with an Fi user about Fi and Fe differences. Such talks open your mind to new ways of seeing the world which can be very interesting. Still dislike Te though. Just because it's good enough to usually work doesn't mean I like the solution. I strive for accuracy.
Because it feels true. Especially when go into cognitive function. I could analyze people behavior and motives little bit more from it. Yeah, it's fun and useful to understand other and myself. Gotta admit.
By nature, intp is philosopher not scientist. We're building block inside our head. As long as it make sense and perceived to be true, it will be accounted as one or few blocks of knowledge in our head. Yeah, we don't care that much about scientific back up actually, sometime it just limiting any possibility while it is common sense that science HAS LIMIT.
Why does this guy so frequently put the stress on the 'I' when he says "The INFP and the INTP"? The difference is the 'T' and the 'F'. These are the letters that should be stressed when speaking (specifically stressing this letter in the second personality type listed to differentiate it from the first).
