Gonzalez County Jail museum is a must see, the staff there are great and will take you on an amazing tour. There they have some gallows and share some incredible history. Also check out the graffiti carved into the walls. Great place to buy a hat or other Come and Take it gear.
Long time subscriber, and have visited many parks thanks to you. I feel like I know the places without ever visited. You rock!

Thanks for the insider info on the County Jail! I will have to check that out next time I am down that way. I am so glad you are finding value in my work! That is why I do what I do! I hope we get to cross paths someday somewhere!
      Thanks for your support!

    Texas
    Where everybody pays the camp
    It's such a big State
    With no Free camping

How is that any different from other states east of the Rockies? West of the Rockies you can boondock for free but if you want toilets and water you have to pay a fee. The more amenities you want to have the higher fee is gonna be. Here in Texas you can camp for free at many Walmarts, Cracker Barrels, the Gulf Coast, and Every Texas rest area. There are a few dry camping options around the state but they are well kept secrets.

I realize that but still, They sent 250 dragoons to recover it so it just seems that it would be bigger, after all everything is bigger in Texas, Right? 😂
