Sara and Luca, I think the first 4 minutes of this vlog are absolutely perfect. Sara’s narration was authoritative, informative, and full of Italian pride. Luca’s drone work was majestic. I'm especially enjoying your travels through Sicily. My Grandparents immigrated to the U.S. in the 1920's from Mezzojuso in Sicily. The family were masons and farmers. Thank you for the tour and all the history. This finally explains why I like chocolate with chili.

Didn't know Sicily had such a Spanish influence. Learned lots about chocolate I didn't know, very interesting. And the Baroque church was amazing. Historic churches have some of the most spectacular architecture :)

Arab culture has left important traces in Sicily but their presence lasted just 2 centuries, this in an island inhabited since the neolithic; Sicily first had the greeks (and that's what you see everywhere), the romans, after the arabs came the normans (you can see their monuments also), the swabians (you have ever heard of Frederick II "the stupor mundi"?), the angioins, the aragonese, and then the spanish branch of the bourbons (and finally, the savoy and the kingdom of Italy).
We are talking about a long (long) history of an island in the middle of the Mediterranean, a land with a millenary culture, so why writing "especially the muslims"? Do you like provocation or just you writing about thing who don't know? Likely is the first, by what you writing ("they are doing it now").
Anyway no, there is no muslim domination now, there is a country called Italy.
I live two towns over from Modica and must admit it is a jewel of a city, the pearl of the Val di Noto!!!

Meat and chocolate, not so strange to me. Growing up in San Francisco in the 70s, there was a place on Van Ness called Hippopotamus Hamburger, Hippo Burger for short. They invented the gourmet hamburger and had 50 different burgers on the menu at any one time. One of them was a hamburger sundae. It was a hamburger patty covered in ice cream, hot fudge, nuts a cherry and a pickle. The menu said "Don't knock it 'till you've tried it."

Hi guys. As an American, I am so impressed by your high quality of English. Great job, seriously. Your vlogs are great, and the two of you are kind souls. I wish this COVID deal can be over with as soon as possible as I was supposed to be living in Europe but am resigned to my life here in the USA. I am a Sicilian-American. I must go someday to my families towns in Sicily.
Ciao from California. We were in Sicily last year to visit the village where my grandfather emigrated in 1905, called Petralia Soprano. Beautiful hilltop place, would recommend. We are going back eventually. We drove a rental and almost got stuck driving off of main roads.

I too want to thank you for taking those of us unable to travel, all around Italy. Even if possible to tour Italy, I doubt we would ever be able to see so many fantastic places. You are appreciated more than you know. Your history lessons are fascinating as well as seeing the beauty that surrounds you. I love the architecture so much, that we decorated part of our house to look like the old ruins, as well as some Italian decor, especially in our kitchen area. Oh how I love the beautiful architecture of Italy but I have to say Sara the Lord has given you a beautiful architecture also, and Luca since I am a male I think you're a good-looking guy, but your lady is the beauty of all architecture on planet Earth. I am really enjoying watching your videos of your country such a beautiful place. I am more than likely 1/3 Italian myself and one day I can only hope to visit part of my ancestry to this beautiful country. Thank you for sharing and I'm looking forward to all of Italy Through Your Eyes. In pre-Columbian America, chocolate was considered a sacred drink by both the Maya and later Aztecs. It was taken to Europe by the Spaniards and arrived in Sicily because it was linked to the Crown of Aragon since the 13th century.
The Sicilian baroque is impressive.
