- Thank you all for asking how I have been. I got sick the second week of Jan and spent 5 days in Iowa in the truck and a hotel with a fever and not eating. I ended up going home last Tuesday empty, 1100 miles and then going to a Dr a 2nd time where I was told I had a touch of pneumonia, I'm still coughing and have little energy and sleep all day. I'm getting better and hope to be back soon.
Thank you all for watching my journey.
HigB! Hope your on the mend!
Get better Brother!
Being in the truck sick is the worst. I feel you pain!
I’m a RN, and with all due respect sir. You need medical attention. When you run a fever that long, something is going on. Please let us docs and nurses help you. They can test you for what is causing your symptoms and help you. One of the best things you can do is to be kind to yourself when you are sick. Rest, meds and then allow your body to heal. Bless you all for what you do to keep America moving, but please be kind to yourself as well. Roll on (when you feel better). Keep safe- Laura RN.
I ran a fever from Tuesday to Friday checked into the hotel went to the clinic, All they did was gave me ibuprofen swabed me for COVID. Said I had influenza A
Spent the weekend at the hotel, resting. Monday I started driving home.
Got home Tuesday night rested Wednesday went to my doctor the next Thursday.
At this point I had a fever for a week, it was starting to come down.
I went to my doctor and she gave me antibiotics, steroids and some narcotic cough syrup and said I had pneumonia in my lungs.
I've been home since
Glad you are doing better and was able to get to a doctor. I enjoy watching your travels. Roll on!

@@higb7 not great but you lived to fight another day
Sure hope you get feeling better. Great video take care.
I just stumbled on your videos while being sick with the flu myself and decided to subscribe to your channel to see different parts of the country. There is one other trucker and his wife that I follow which is “Love travel adventure”. Have you heard of him? He is dedicated to looking out for his fellow truckers. Always has an interesting video to view. I think you mentioned that you can’t wait to get home to your wife. Does she ever get on the road with you? Red is the other trucker I mentioned and he always has his wife travel with him. They seem to make a great team out on the road together . Anyway looking forward to viewing more of your videos . Stay safe out there. The world seems to great crazier by the day.
Thanks for subscribing
I'll see if I can't look that other driver up.
Yes my wife used to ride with me for about 5 years straight.
Now she'll ride with me every once in a while.
And I've been home now for about 2 weeks.
I didn't release that video until yesterday.
I hope to get back out there again next week
I had Covid a few years ago and tried to keep driving until I got better. It turned into pneumonia and that was far worse than the Covid
Get well, during covid no one got the flu
I was going to say that ," Go get a hotel " Good Idea
You’re taking Tylenol and naproxen sodium which is Aleve. That stuff is OK and it works in the background. If you want more of an immediate relief from the headache and the aches and all that you can also take some ibuprofen. You can take them together. They actually make a pill now that contains Tylenol and ibuprofen.
Spend the money and buy the name brand Advil liquid gels. Also by name brand DayQuil and NyQuil liquid gels. Keep those in your truck. You have to be careful with the Advil liquid gels. Those things are so good they’ll mess around and keep you sick longer. You will feel better than you actually are so you will stop resting in the next thing you know you’ve drug yourself down again
Yes, but I ended the video at the hotel.
After 3 days there, still has fever, night sweats, not eating.
I was not Tuesday through Monday with a fever. I had already developed, pneumonia
@ always try to keep some antibiotics in your truck. When I get prescribed a round of antibiotics I never take them all. I never take three or four a day for 10 days or whatever the prescription says. I will take them just for a few days and then let nature take over. By doing that I’ve always got a bottle of antibiotic pills on hand just in case. When I start to feel something coming on I will take them for a day or so and stop it. That’s not very common though, I rarely get sick. I take a good multivitamin every day and I think that’s why I rarely ever get sick
I'm 67 quit taking chances go to a urgent care if possible be well faster
That trip to thwest was not worth it, out for 4 days and 1100 deadhead miles. A double whammy.
Yeah, and still home trying to clear my lungs..
I did take a load today 220 miles, but then right back home
@higb7 I had a similar situation at the end of last year. Quit coffee and completely changed my diet. I started high-quality vitamins and supplements. Purchase a small smoothies blender for a morning routine with fruit and vegetable protein powder . Jogging and tennis are out, but 6 to 10 thousand steps a day is a goal to start.
