What is TDX / Tower Defense X?
TDX is a tower defense game that was released on November 21, 2023 and made by John Roblox. All out Tower Warfare! Deploy your towers from the air, land, and sea. Rival against powerful enemies and bosses before they destroy your towers. Tdx currently consists of 5 modes: Easy mode, Intermediate mode, Elite mode, Expert mode, and Endless mode. Nightmare mode will be coming soon. These modes have bosses such as Plague doctor, Predator, Eradicator, Revived plague doctor, Eradicator mk2, Eradicator mk4, Eradicator mk1c, Apex predator, and Calamity. Some exclusive modes such as TDX events also exist too in the game such as the tdx xmas event and the tdx april fools event. There are also many towers in the game such as: Cryo Ranger (event), Ranger, Shotgunner, Operator, Mine Layer, Sniper, Cryo Blaster, Missile Trooper, Patrol Boat, Farm, Barracks, Grenadier, EDJ, John, Laser Gunner, Toxicnator, Artillery, Armored Factory, Juggernaut, Railgunner, Medic, Slammer, XWM Turret, Golden Ranger, Warship, and Golden Juggernaut. There are 2 tdx gamepasses in the store right now which are the tdx vip gamepass and the tdx 50% speed boost gamepass. There are some TDX codes that are available. TDX all codes can be found either in the tdx wiki or in the tdx discord server. TDX quests also exist to reward the player with either gold or xp. There is also a crate system (basic crate) where crates contain an assortment of skins for all towers of rarities ranging from: common skins, uncommon skins, epic skins, legendary skins, and exclusive skins. Actually, a plague doctor was a physician who treated victims of bubonic plague during epidemics mainly in the 16th and 17th centuries. These physicians were hired by cities to treat infected patients regardless of income, especially the poor, who could not afford to pay. Theu wore the bird-like beaks to prevent smelling the plague (since it was believed that the plague was due to bad air, but it was not, but it still saved a lot of these doctor's lives)
A bit of lore on your question about Plague Doctor and Dr. Xenon working together is through the first 30 waves of Endless, where the advisor talks about Dr Xenon's supposed ''plague division'', which is made up of xientists, mutated zombies, revived mutated zombies, tanks, and other potential experiments of the plague doctors (Yes, I believe there are multiple of them), and also a Plague Doctor himself.
Random mini theory:
The portals could also be used as teleports, it would explain how theres maps in questionable places like moon base, singularity and blade works (although that last one is a bit more different since is another world)
This is a very good theory, but it heavily relies on the Collaberation between TDX and TB. This may actually be correct, but you would have to hope.

Finally someone made a theory using plague doctor, he’s been forgotten in all of the lore
while i do think there is time travel involved in tdx, I do not think we are traveling back in time to borderlands. Note that the borderlands maps have gda symbols on them, showing that the gda already control these locations. The gda dont come into existence until after the void is defeated and the world needs a global defense army. I think it is far more likely that the orbs simply summon the enemies from the past, not necessarily that we are traveling to the past to play these maps. Good theory nonetheless

Ok guys, I have a dumb theory.
Eradicator MK IV is the older brother of Eradicator MK IC. I believe this because MK IV is larger than the MK IC. This is further proven when MK IV is on low health it runs, kinda like an older sibling running away from mom after their younger sibling called them, which is why I believe MK IC is the younger brother. At half health, he screams out, which feels like a younger sibling calling for mom. He does this again when he dies and tries to fly away but becomes a firework.

My theory is that the bubonic plague is in the tb/tdx universe a small scale zombie apocalipse, plague doctor was the one caring for patient 0 but he got infected, the holy roman empire,poland and france defeated the zombies and plague doctor was evaced by dc xenon to serve in her army, the knights probably acted as plagues doctor bodyguards and commanders, as they in their dubut in every mode are the first/second to spawn

I actualy think the one in acorged passage is not in hell i think its a completly destoyed placed and xeon found/build and thats how we are going to the tb maps (by time travel)

Or, the orbs on the og maps are not being used by either side, but by the enemies coming from the void (the dimension) itself, and because of that, GDA is recruting retired towers so they can learn more effective ways of combating the old enemies.
And if you consider what I said, the plague doctor is still a mystery, but still, I think this has more probability than literal "time travel".
remember about Tb x Tdx Collab this also led question that old tower are recuited to GDA so commando is indeed also using that black orb portal so which mean more TB tower are coming soon to game with some change on future of game (even tho 5 skin are just a reskin of current tower)

I have something to add about this theory, so when dr.xenon and advisor still worked together they decided to open these portals to recruit the tower battle towers as you said, but then everything went bad and they decided to shut down the portals. Then dr.xenon opened these portals back up to gather the plague doctor and tower battles enemies, but when dr.xenon wasn't focusing on the portals advisor snuck by to go get the tower battles commander.
The portals are from void since they are black like the void and calamity is void and void is from the old tb maps. I also think time travel didn’t happen and plague doctor must have been frozen or something and tb was fairly recently so some old towers could still be alive

I have a theory how TB fell(note xenon has nothing with this)the void had been defeated but on 16/2/2022 the Plague docs(63) attacked the TB base's the Plague docs were too strong and they fell and the advisor woke up alive in a attacked base.
I wonder why apex predator when defeated takes his core out himself and crushes it killing himself,usually the bosses escapes,trip(lol)accidental death,or just die .(I sound stupid)

I have a theory for the reason why plague doctor cant kill towers. Simply is because the plague doctor is from the past, back then the void couldnt kill the towers so it would makes sense for the plauge doctor to not be able to kill towers because the plauge doctor is from the past.

Interesting hypothesis I think you're on the mark with the black orbs being portals. But maybe not to the past maybe instead to where the void lies where it resides. Because the coloring is pretty similar in both of those maps I'm coming to Tower defense x have that portal like object so it's very possible that it's actually very void will arise from. Now
About the plague doctor is very much possible that the plague doctor was able to survive all the way here no wonder why he's so easy to beat not only that, given that the plague a doctor has old tech it's possible that he hasn't updated let's say oh it's very possible that the plague doctor has survived all the way up until now add Dr zenon Brooks who did or made an alliance with them their body she revived him that's what I think
