- @GeneandRenee we traveled back to La Paz. But why? Was this a wise choice?

Oh never mind. It said LIVE and threw me off.
It’s all good bro. Glad you enjoyed it! 😎
Beautiful drive through the desert with the towering cacti! The food looked amazing in the restaurant in La Paz. I am curious what you like about this area besides the food? Are prices affordable? I am curious about accommodations in this area?? Where do you like staying?
Hi Diana! The Baja peninsula is not as affordable as the mainland but La Paz is fairly reasonable and an easy place for 2 gringos to feel at home. We usually stay in airbnbs. The one we stayed in here was a bit of a splurge, and we could definitely go cheaper, but it met our needs and was easy for walking. Thanks for watching! 😎
How difficult is it to take your dog back-and-forth across the border?
Hi Adam! Thanks for joining us! We did an episode while in San Miguel de Allende on that topic. I’ll put a link below for you. Since we drive it doesn’t seem to be any issue. Here’s the link: How to Bring your Dog to Mexico - What you MUST know!

Thanks again for enjoying the Journey with us!! 😀
We have are temporary residency as well.
My husband & I are planning on driving from Tucson to La Paz in September.
The last time we were in Mexico we flew out from Guadalajara to LAX.
My question is do we need to stop at INM once we cross the border or can we just drive straight through?
Thank you
@gloriaolguin582 if you’re driving to La Paz, once you get through the border crossing you can drive right on. Enjoy your adventures!!! 😎
Thank you 👍
Enjoy your journey! 🙂
How would you compare La Paz versus Ensenada?
Hmmm great question DeeDee! Ensenada “feels” more like a big city to us while La Paz “feels” more like living in the suburbs of the bigger city. Ensenada has the gorgeous Pacific Ocean but not the swim-ability of the beaches near La Paz. Restaurants are great in both and so are the people. More traffic in Ensenada and roads were not as good. Both cities are great for shopping but Ensenada has more in the line of selection. Both beautiful cities that are definitely worth visiting!
I moved from the LA/Ventura area of CA in 2022 and retired early in Ensenada. I have remote beach camped and surfed throughout Baja for over 40 years with never any problems and have visited La Paz. The weather in Ensenada is much more livable, think of a San Diego type of climate. La Paz is hot year round but it gets debilitatingly hot and humid in the summer months that's when the snowbirds leave. Because the weather is nicer you can spend your days outside year round and with no a/c needed electric bills run around $7.00us per month, compared to in to the hundreds in La Paz. BTW There are a lot of bugs and mosquitos in La Paz and none to speak of in Ensenada. If you are thinking of just visiting go to La Paz in the winter. I think the people tend to be nicer in Ensenada because it's a working town whereas in La Paz it's more of a tourist town with lots of different people coming and going with the seasons. We get tourists in Ensenada but the economy isn't strictly tourist based. Plus there are more things to do in and around Ensenada like taking a short drive on La Ruta del Vino to the wine town of Guadalupe that has over two hundred wineries or a day trip to the more party town of Rosarito. There are hot springs south of town with a beach that has hot water bubbling up through the sand and the surf is good here too! Something else to keep in mind if you plan on living here is that it's more expensive to live in La Paz. Buena suerte!
Excellent advice and insight David! Thank you for joining us on the Journey and contributing to our community!! Have a wonderful week!! 😎
Or maybe I'm insane I just saw the the Ford pickup truck for $94,000 . That's a whole bunch of money for a depreciating asset.😢
Agree! I would LOVE a big old Toyota Tundra but the $$$!
@@GeneandRenee My dream pu truck.
@@GeneandReneeYeah but your Subaru is pretty nice too. With the all wheel drive I take mine on the beach to go exploring with all of my camping gear.
@davidsebastianelli1326 David we love our Subaru! Planning a camping adventure with it for next summer for me and our oldest grandson (Andrew will be 16). 😃
