Loved the review, guys! This just proved that Booker's is a $50 bourbon, not the $90 to $100+ that it's going for now; which is why I stopped buying Booker's some time ago. Marketing and hype have ruined the brand, IMO. The Knob Creek Single Barrels, especially some of the store picks, which is what you have here, can be phenomenal and, at least for now, are fairly priced.
Very fair perspective there, Fred. When viewed through that lens, it makes a lot of sense why folks say they're off the Booker's train. Cheers and thanks so much for watching!
Knob creek is just an absolute killer. I've put up knob creek store picks against anything and everything with my friend group and it always gives the best pours a run for their money. I'm always a buyer when I see a new pick on the shelves.
I am a huge Bookers fan. Maybe it is nostalgia since it is one of the premium whiskeys that really got me into bourbon. Knob Creek is a great deal but I will always hunt Bookers. Kudos to Beam for distilling their own great juice.
Tough to get a bottle of Booker's in my neck of the woods. I've only tried a pour of Booker's at a restaurant, didn't know which release it was, but it was great. I have gone through a few bottles of various Knob Creek picks, never disappoints, and much more readily available. Great matchup! Cheers!
With Booker's becoming harder and harder to get everywhere, it's really difficult to beat the availability of those KC picks. Glad they're there for those of us who love high proof Beam. Cheers ISDP!
Josh here. If I rattled off the list of things some of these Knob Creek store picks have beaten in blind flights I'm pretty sure some people's heads would explode. Big, big, big KC120SP fan. Pretty sure I could live happily ever after with these and JDSBBP bottles as my only options at 120+ proof.
Josh here. She's definitely the brains of the channel in both the creative department and tasting department--I'm just here to pour the whiskey and clean the glasses. 😂 Truth be told, her palate and how she communicates what she's experiencing is so unique and she's really hitting her stride in recent filmings. Stay tuned. It only continues to get better from here. Cheers Nate!
I won't argue with that review one bit. Both are fantastic bourbons. I am a Bookers fanatic and will continue to buy it regardless. I have a Knob Creek SB store pick that is the best tasting bourbon in my collection, still won't ever detour me from buying Bookers. I have a very deep sentimental attachment to Bookers. Great review!!! Nice work!
That's a great point, Ed. Would be interesting to hear from folks who have a sentimental attachment to Booker's. We'd certainly fall within that category ourselves. At the end of the day it's great that both of these products are out on the market and somewhat available. Cheers to that!
Definitely a great blind comparison between two of Beam’s best products. Love Erin’s unique tasting notes and impressions and Josh’s reaction after finding out what the bottles are! Oddly enough before watching this, I was doing some video viewing on whether or not to get a new Booker’s Shiny Barrel batch which I just spotted. Cheers guys!🙌
KCSB is one of my favorites. I try to always have one. Store picks are the best. Add Rare Breed and OF 1920, and I'm good. Throw in KC12 for an easy drinker and I can live with it.
Hopefully they're readily available in your market. Some of the most fun is getting different picks of these Knob Creeks and comparing them, and at the price point it's not too cost prohibitive to do so. Cheers!
At Woodman's in Madison, WI the 120 proof KB is $44.95 The juice inside Booker's is 6 years old; getting younger & younger; too much dough for not enough go! So the juice is younger & the price almost double what it used to be; lose lose. Parenthetically I also have the new iteration of Rare Breed which is now 117 proof & sells at Woodman's for $33.95! Both great BUT although the Rare Breed is only 3 points less in proof it is light; light in body; light in flavor; delicious & yet a COMPLETELY different experience. A daily easy drinker; with the KB it is serious drinking meaning it demands your attention; that you pay attention to all the flavors & intensity it is delivering. Get Jack Daniels single barrel barrel proof 134.1 for $55.00 a friggin' surprise; drinks nowhere near what that number suggests. (I was never a JD fan but this release is exceptional; again NOT the JD single barrel but JD single barrel barrel proof) Dangerous because of drinkability.
Well said all around. Regarding Booker's, one of the points we forgot to mention and that seems to often get overlooked, is that it's a batched product. While age stated to the youngest whiskey in the blend around 6.5 years old usually, it *could* have MUCH older bourbon in there as well. Whether it does or not, the Noes only know, but it *could* theoretically. That said, it's hard to beat a good Knob Creek pick as this blind points out. Cheers!
We keep a database over on Patreon but have since revised the scoring system in more recent head-to-heads to simplify things and get more to the point. Those simplified ratings are also in the same database as well.
Knob single is 3-4 years older (lately), just a few proof points lower, and 45$ less for an arguable better bourbon. It’s more complex, balanced and full bodied. Bookers has a little more brashness but it’s simpler, thinner, and lacks the finish. Such a no brained. Have a bookers on the shelf and grab as many knob singles as you can.
Fine! I’ll subscribe. I’ve literally watched like 20 videos over the last few days, UA-cam just keeps feeding me your content. I enjoy your points of view, and appreciate that it’s not a sideshow type channel. Like some of the ones I’ve seen.
How about UA-cam with the recommendations!? We appreciate the heck out of you subscribing Phillip and we appreciate the kind words as well. We really strive for our channel to feel like you’re sitting down in our home with us and having a down to earth conversation just like we would if we were hanging on our person. When people notice that it’s one of the biggest compliments we get, so thank you. 🙏
We'll find out sometime. It's in our blind sample pool as a matchup. 😉 Rare Breed is one we tend to enjoy together with big but balanced flavor, whereas these Knob Creek picks can be sledgehammers, and only one of us is keen on that. It'll be interesting to see how they compare totally blind.
I really like KC 120. But the Bookers I had was better. I blinded them a few times and Bookers always won. Not a double blind but that was the best I could do.
"Shot through the heart, and you're to blame..." 😂 Great daily, although it would be nice if the older picks weren't all drying up. One can only hope that one day we'll see more on the market in the 11-15 year range.
At 50, I consider Knob Creek Single the best value in bourbon today. It is the bourbon against which I compare all Potential Bourbon purchases. Age stated, available year round, high proof, classic flavors. As Josh said, between this bottle, Rare Breed and 120 there is no need to ever chase allocated bottles or pay secondary prices unless money grows in trees for ya.
One thing you have to take into consideration is that bookers has been about 100 dollars for at least 15 years. There is something to be said about keeping the price the same even with the changing times.
I get so excited everytime I get a Stuff and Whiskey Notification!
So glad we're able to give you a sliver of what you give us on a weekly basis when we see an ADHD Whiskey notification. Big love, Matt!

I concur, Booker's is trippin.

My man Josh! Giving my favorite bourbon a perfect tasting score! It’s a total sleeper, and it is amazing over ice.

I really enjoyed Erin's analysis in this head to head. Keep up the great work Erin and Josh!

@@stuffandwhiskey and you can't deny that the boxes make for great shelf displays!!

Cheers Richie! Did you end up getting the Shiny Barrel? If so let us know how you like it!
@@stuffandwhiskey I’m going to grab it Wednesday when I’m back that way again. Hopefully it’s still there 🤞😊

Great vid! I enjoyed it with my kc store pick. 10 years old. Can’t beat the value!
Value through the roof for sure! Cheers Tyler and thanks for watching!
Great comparison - I will have to try this with our Booker's Tagalong 2021 ($85) to our Binny's Store Pick Knob Creek Single Barrel 120 proof ($50).
Let us know what you think, Timm! Cheers!
Could it be - a Lamy Safari FP I see ?!
Thank you for another great review, I put great stock in your analysis.
We appreciate that taiko and great eye too! Lamy for sure but it’s an AL Star. Love their products!
Just bought a Knob Creek single barrel and I love it. 😊😊😊
Love to hear that! Cheers Mack!
I have a KCSB SP that is really good. I am nursing it because I want it to last. Getting kind of low, though. Need to find another.
Hopefully they're readily available in your market. Some of the most fun is getting different picks of these Knob Creeks and comparing them, and at the price point it's not too cost prohibitive to do so. Cheers!
whisky review was great too

Just curious is there one place to see the 7-10 point winners. Love Rare Breed and KC120
We keep a database over on Patreon but have since revised the scoring system in more recent head-to-heads to simplify things and get more to the point. Those simplified ratings are also in the same database as well.
Catching up on episodes I missed. I’ll take Knob Creek Single Barrel or Knob Creek 12 Year over Booker’s any day. Just my palate and opinion.
We’re right there with ya!
Knob single is 3-4 years older (lately), just a few proof points lower, and 45$ less for an arguable better bourbon. It’s more complex, balanced and full bodied. Hard for us to argue with that, Joe. Well said. Cheers!
Walked into the LCBO here and there it was…only one. Couldn’t get the cash outa my pocket fast enough. LOL We don’t see this bottle here much. Cheers🎉
I just picked up a bottle of KC SB at the local Costco; $37!!
KCSiB is the greatest value bottle of all time.
Try Old Forester 1920. OMG! So good

Knob Creek picks are my jam
Easily some of the best value in bourbon. Cheers William!
I am late to watch this one but it confirms you can still find reasonable priced good stuff to drink
That's what we're all about around here, Tim. Cheers and thanks for watching!
Knob SiB is one of the highest ratings I’ve seen Josh give out. Would love to see it up against the beloved WTRB.
We're overdue to get that matchup into the blind sample pool now that you mention it Robert. We'll get right on that!
Where do you put the Knob Creek in relation to Rare Breed?
We'll find out sometime. It's in our blind sample pool as a matchup. 😉 Rare Breed is one we tend to enjoy together with big but balanced flavor, whereas these Knob Creek picks can be sledgehammers, and only one of us is keen on that. It'll be interesting to see how they compare totally blind.
I really like KC 120. But the Bookers I had was better. I blinded them a few times and Bookers always won. Not a double blind but that was the best I could do.
Nice! It’s so dependent on both the KC120 SiB and the Booker’s batch, but we enjoy both.
Just found you. I really like your scoring system
"People say I have no filter."-Glass one
That about sums it up, haha! Cheers j P!
I prefer the bookers and agree on that hug and the knobcreek
So happy to have both out there in the market, that's for sure. Cheers TD!
She wounds me. lol. KCSB SP is my daily.
"Shot through the heart, and you're to blame..." 😂 Great daily, although it would be nice if the older picks weren't all drying up. One can only hope that one day we'll see more on the market in the 11-15 year range.
I enjoyed this review, though I'm a lower proof guy :)

Great job.
Thanks WLS! Cheers!
Tbf thats a much older bookers, which are way fruitier than the current ones
For sure. The margin between the Booker's we've had in the last few years would likely be even smaller if memory serves correctly. Great point Aidan!
One thing you have to take into consideration is that bookers has been about 100 dollars for at least 15 years. There is something to be said about keeping the price the same even with the changing times.
WHISKEY CHEERS 😎😎😎😎
There's no whiskey or bourbon worth over $20 per 750ml. 🥴
