I have owned an Alto for 8 years and drove it from Sydney to Perth a few years ago and it performed exceptionally well (it was early Summer). It may have a low value now but I certainly have had great value for money. I have had two road users rear end me in the last 1.5 years and the only real damage was the reinforcement bar - I was told by the repairer that the Altos take the impact well and I was pleased as it is a very small car. Recommended.
I’ve got a sz4. Good car. Surprisingly capable on the motorway, sits happy at 75 all day. Reliable and nippy too. By the sz4 and nothing else it has good standard kit and more airbags plus fogs, alloys and electrics.
I own an alto and have already 40k km. i absolutely love this car. I bought it 8000 euro in cyprus 3 years ago and i consider it to be the best value for money car out there. If this is one of your options dont think about it! Buy it. With a complete tank i average 600 to 680 km. what a little treasure. I will never ever get rid of this car because it is built to last forever!
@@theocy1986 thanks appreciate it. Would it be safe to drive outside the city like on highways ? i have a 800km trip to do every month and i'm bit hesitant, would you recommend it?
There's plenty of headroom in the rear of the alto/pixo compared to the rival C1/107/Aygo alternatives were my head is constantly in touch with the roof and in fear of the next speed bump. You also get 4 doors as standard and air recirculation as standard. I finally went for the Pixo rather than the Alto because it had colour matching handles and fog lights for the same money.
Ive had this and the previous Alto. Both super reliable and great on fuel.Slightly cheap interior but sturdy enough.Sips fuel and cheap road tax.Would have another one no problem...
I have an Alto 3 years old . Need to get rattley exhaust fixed then continue on my happy way . Reliable town car . If your into status symbols and concerned about the opinions of others then you'll have to go up market a bit . Still , the tax man will be overjoyed .
very condescending review. nothing wrong with enjoying a more economical car even at a cheaper price. and a good driver can change their driving with the size of the car even in a test drive. you dont have to work the gear box hard. i drove one, the gear box is easy and easy to change gears, and turn it around. i think if you want to do a big shop, you just go it alone and end up with a cheaper bill than if you took the kids;-)
Reasonably good handling, stupid fun in the back roads although I've driven way better handling small cars. It always gives you enough indication as you're about to lose the traction so you can take it back into control.
Yeah I agree, not the best handling small car but still very fun. I do wish the steering had more weight and feel though as it isn't exactly the most communicative. Have you ever managed to get a bit of lift off oversteer with the alto?
we have owned the sz2 for two years, touch wood no problems 24000 miles on the clock, changed cd player to blue tooth,,also put in front door speakers not a bad little car but die's a death when you hit a hill but we can live with that good fuel economy, you need to buy good quality car mats as the carpets that come with the car are as thin as paper .we have also had a tow bar fitted and it tow's a 4ft x3 trailor with no problem which make's it a useful small car.
@@athuldominic : Not good for challenging times where rivals probably have five and cost a little less or more - Check out options from the Volkswagen Group, there's your best bet.

It’s a small car but not as small as people rate it, if you were to compare it to cars built in the 80’s and 90’s it’s far better advanced
