I hope she continues to do good with her device. Devices are good to get a different level of communication, but I feel like you guys already know without words what Raelynn needs.
Aw shes tryin so hard bless her. Itz also luks like shes avin a seizure wile tryna do it. I love how her hair luks. Sendin love & hugz 2 uz x Wow she getin gud even tho itz gona take tym. Slow & stedy.
Very cool device, looks fun, hope Raelynn can keep practicing and learning, but it must be hard work for Realynn (or anyone!) at the beginning. (I’m thinking how I feel just from figuring out a new phone! 🤯😄) There’s all the ins and outs of the device to figure out, all the symbols, how to make things happen just with eye movements, etc., but the games she tried looked really fun. I bet your other kids will want to try it too! Sweet dreams Raelynn 💝
Hi! We are trailing the Eye Gaze with my son… How long did you trial one with therapy before getting it at home for the longer month trial? Did she ever have to calibrate with her eyes? Any tips? My son struggles more to calibrate by looking at the tiny dot to calibrate than the games. I so appreciate you sharing your family and Raelynn’s progress!
I think she tried one with therapy just once or twice before we had a home trial with one. Raelynn did not always do well calibrating it with her eyes, so we kind of had to just do our best to line it up. But at augmentative communication recently, she actually calibrated it herself pretty well! I think the best tip I have is simply to give him lots of opportunities to use it. The more practice Raelynn had with it, the better she got. Which kind of eye gaze is he trying? Raelynn has tried both the Toby Dynavox and a WinSlate.
No, she's just borrowing it for a month. Hopefully she can show the insurance company that it's beneficial to her so they will pay for her to keep one. 🙏
In my old school butte vista school they have a lot special needs kids now I’m 15 year old last week was my birthday I really want to become a special education teacher I need to learn a lot.
Her nurse does an amazing job with her hair! Raelynn uses the a pulse ox if 1) she's been sick, 2) has needed extra oxygen lately, or 3) has needed lots of suctioning due to excessive saliva. This time, it's #2 and #3.

We often do, but sometimes we don't at all. If she learns to use this well, it would open up so many doors! 🙏
Wow! This is very exciting! She is really concentrating!
She does great when she wants to 😁

She's figuring it out fast! 👍👏
That’s great that it works! Maaaan, we tried similar things with Jack, but to no avail.
What did you try? I'm not sure Raelynn always knows what she's doing, but the fact that she can fix her gaze on things is promising.

Good job, pretty girl! Your hair is beautiful. You are working so hard! Does raelynn wear her oximeter all the time or just when she is in bed?
