Most races seem to run longer than advertised but this one seemed excessively out of whack with my Garmin. For me, the rain came at mile 10 and I ran the rest totally soaked. An awesome race though and my first Dopey done! And that old ride in the MK backlot was Nautilus from the 20,000 Leagues under the Sea ride that closed in 1994. Great video, thanks for sharing!

My vlog last year was SOOO bad lol my phone died at Mike 24 and I thought I was dying with it. I’m planning on going next year. Did you upload it to the channel you commented with? I’ll def go look and subscribe
None of the mile markers at all 4 races matched my Garmin GPS. I ended up with 26.9 for the marathon. That extra 0.7 mile puts a strain on your psyche when your tank is empty. Great videos by the way. If I may just recommend something, maybe a Go Pro (or any action cam) with stabilization mounted on a hand grip would be best. The view from your video bounces with each step you take.
I’m thinking about getting one! I just wasn’t sure how many people would actually see my videos and if I’d be going back again (I said never again last year lol) but now that I’m addicted I should probably get some better gear. My gps was like 2 1/2 miles more by the end 😭
I got injured during mile 14 last year and pulled myself at mile 22 - I literally started crying watching this video because I remember seeing you in AK that year and we talked about how we were struggling. So happy you finished! Both times!!
Yesss I remember that too! It was such a struggle. This time I had no regrets. The back of my left knee hurt for a bit but other than that I had no issues. I hope you get the chance to make a comeback if you want to try again! I’ll be cheering for you
Your GPS is always going to be over the mile marker,the only way for it to be equal is if you run the perfect tangents.Those were old rides from the Magic Kingdom on the side of the road.20,000 leagues under the sea,Mr Toads Wild ride,etc...
Yeah I figured I was doing a lot of weaving in and out but to be off by half a mile so early on was crazy. But there wasn’t a mile marker there so I wasn’t crazy! I thought that was an old ride grave yard but I wasn’t sure lol. I recognized a few of those but I’m like would Disney really make a grave yard for those rides? 😅
No it keeps going unfortunately, you can get swept waiting but that’s only if the pacers in the very back catch you. I’ve finished races with times over the allowed pace cutoff with no issues because I started earlier than the pacers that determine if you’re swept / disqualified so they never caught up to me
