Argyle supporter here....I fully understand his reasoning but if you ask every club in the league about refereeing decisions and I'm sure you will have many with similar situations. The football league and clubs need to address the poor quality of officials and the rules need to be understood and made idiot proof. I for one think hand ball in the penalty box should be a penalty full stop; no interpretation necessary. This way everybody knows the rule and no one can complain.....keep things simple and football will be the better for it!!
Problem is, like certain teams.The decisions rarely go "in our favour"..
VAR would probably have given Leeds a penalty (or two) in the 0-0 v Sunderland, but Gnonto's goal at Middlesbrough would have been disallowed and it may have been a draw. Maybe it would balance out over the season?
Boro fan, so I'm mutual on this obviously. But Michael Carrick had this brought up not long ago and he wasn't happy with an officials call or non call.
But he also understood the expense it would bring across the Championship and that sort of expense, would have to be covered somewhere across the competition.
I bloody loved Farke, when he was with Norwich, still do, but checked out the highlights, off side for the goal was offside, and the suggestion Giannoulis was off side by yards is bizarre. Don't know... it's going to be a tight game at Leeds but get the feeling Farkes looks under pressure. Don't get me wrong, out of the 3 teams other than Norwich, would have loved to see hm back in the Prem, quality manager. Not sure Norwich are ready.

There's a saying in West Yorshire and with this team "you cannot polish a turd" and no matter what Farkes says you cannot mask his incompetence regarding the management of the team in the last 12 games! Playing Rutter who is clearly NOT a striker as a striker just says it all and again he was dire this guy cost us 35M!!!! the "air shot" confirms this prognosis! The passing backwards by Byram, when advanced 2/3rds into the oppositions half is just demoralising to the rest of the team, as well as selecting out of form and under performing players. This team is not going to win the payoffs or make the final, no matter what Farke says or does specifically! Curious how BumFluff is ruled out yet again at a critical time! and the team are not really playing for the club, the manager, or the fans!
This has been evident for years. If there is doubt about offside, in the absence of VAR, the benefit of the doubt should be given to the forward player.. The problem is that officials do not accept and apply the rules of the game when on a touchline in front of thousands of home fans. These are the refs and linos who never make it to the top level - and these are the officials we now get every match.
Ah but it shouldn't have come down to ref. Its the sign of a bad team blaming the ref for not winning no matter how bad he was.
Why is VAR such a big issue in this interview, He was offside and Gnonto was not a penalty, if we want to win, then start scoring goals ffs, and stop blaming everything else, didn't' hear him complaining when Gnonto scored his last goal at home

There was no doubt about the offside, the linesman saw it as offside and raised the flag, he was offside there is no benefit of the doubt, if you're off by an inch you're offside, simple.
As for the penalty shout, initial contact was made outside the box and he fell inside the box, you give the decision based on where the initial contact was made not where it ended, both decisions given were correct.
He needs to get the lads playing as a team again, something isn't right in the camp its visible for everyone to see.Sort it then moan Daniel.
I agree, Gnonto was clear penalty,but don't forget the goal that mentioned from the same player in a match at home ( I don't remember which one) that he was offsite and counted.Of course the refferies in some previous games played against us but we must have clear mind to play as good as previous month.I'm afraid our players were so tired (Giorginio,Summerville,Gnonto etc) and they made many mistakes in the field.Hope the coach find the way to solve these problems and be back to PREMIERLEAGUE.
Leeds fan but if we hadnt been hammered by QPR or lost at home to Blackburn , drawn against Sunderland might have been a different story. I am not sure what he hopes to achieve by suggesting foul play unless he is trying to put pressure on the ref. Bamford slapped one in with his hand whilst ballooning a penalty into outer orbit. We threw it away unfortunately hard to swallow but true. If we veat Norwich which is a big if can't see us beating Southampton but West Brom naybe.

Leeds overall better side ..ref and assistant not good.. both decisions in premiership by var would not be given. Was offside for goal.. . And penalty call...should have been free kick on edge of box both ref and linesman missed it.
What about a booking for bringing down Gnonto as well?
Watching the action at normal speed it looked onside but in slow motion it looks offside so should that linesman be in Premier League?

So VAR would have promoted Leeds and no other club, Leicester, Ipswich, Southampton had any decisions go against them. VAR wouldn't have helped them as well then? Sour grapes I'm afraid. There are 46 games in a season and the old adage that the table doesn't lie is spot on. Look closer to home Mr Farke. Still want Leeds to beat Norwich though. Ipswich fan by the way .... if Leeds turn up like they did against us, they shouldn't have too many problems.

To be fair we didn't turn up at Carrow Road. Neither did Norwich, it was a poor game. I console myself with the knowledge that we are up and Leeds will beat Norwich.
