Einfach wundervoll!
For anyone having as much trouble making sense of the title and mess of a description as I did, this piece is Shostakovich's Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello in E Minor, Op. 67, played by Kogan, Rostropovich, & Gilels (in 1959).
Ignore my comment about the mess...I don't know if it was by browser cache or what that had garbled things, but I was seeing other junk mixed into the title and description. Sorry!
He was referring to this specific performance of a work where the violin is paramount and Kogan's sharpness of tone makes a huge difference. But of course for those who can only think in terms of hierarchies of musicians, it can never be just about the music.
Gracias.
WOW! Had never heard before--and it's wonderful. . . 🙃
