For some reason they also left out the tigers trick play/direct snap to the RB while both teams were looking at the sideline. Was a big play at the time. It was in the 4th quarter before the punt return
They are just editing the videos to be barely over 10 minutes for the ad revenue. Almost every "highlight" video they put out is missing the actual highlights.

The officials were an SEC crew. They weren't trying to screw Mississippi State.

Doesn't matter what conference they're from. They still did the worst at their job, and it was blatantly obvious they were intentionally screwing over MS State every chance they got.
The offensive line for Mississippi State held the whole game didn't get called till the 4th quarter. A Memphis defensive back got kicked out for targeting and I saw multiple times Mississippi State defenders made the same kind of hits on Tiger players and no flags. The officiating was bad both ways.
That crew has been screwing SEC teams for years now tf you mean 😂. They are just incompetent. Not to mention two guys on the field with the same jersey number. That was terrible. lol.

I was there and the amount of tension and cheering on the Liberty bowl was UNREAL!
Mississippi State thought they downed the ball. Problem was that it was a live ball and Memphis picked it up and took it 94 yards to the house for a touchdown.
Problem is, the play was signaled dead by the official. Regardless if he “didn’t actually possess it,” (I agree he should’ve actually picked it up or something) the official signaled that the play was dead

@@reecemonroe9383 Look again. First of all no whistle blown. (announcer said the official had the whistle in his mouth.. give me a break. He didn't blow it). Second the ball was live but nobody was doing anything so the official was ready to call the play dead. Memphis player swooped in and picked it up before that official raised his arms. Replay it slowly.

Never would succeed. I live in Memphis. The schools leadership has been horrible for as long as I can remember. They have struck gold a couple of times over the last 6 years with some solid coaches but Adam silverfield is piggy backing off of recent success. Memphis will screw up royally eventually.. sadly

Ok...around the 1:13 mark, the Memphis tiger running back lowers his head and lead with his helmet. How can you get away with it on offense, but not on Defense?

You need to teach your announce crew the rules of the game. They couldn't have been MORE wrong.
The Mississippi State player obviously downed the ball. The official onsite was already ruling the play dead. Poor job by the officials.
How is that even considered a TD , the punt team player’s touched the ball and they replayed . Also the ref rules him down... ?? WHAT ??? Not even a fan of either team but I would love an explanation?!?!

First of all, the play is not dead just because the kicking team touches the ball.
Secondly, the refs marked the spot with a bean bag, but by rule the play remains live until blown dead by an official (which usually happens a few seconds after the ball is at rest or when it's controlled by the kicking team). They correctly never blew it dead. One official was about to, but before he blew or signaled, the Memphis player picked up the ball. It was called correctly in that regard.
Lastly, apparently there were 2 memphis players wearing the same number, which is a penalty. So, it should not have countes anyway, but the play and ruling of the actual punt return were 100% correctly called.

Mississippi state held on every single play. Every play. Memphis is a more balanced, more talented team.
I wouldn’t say they’re more talented, the way the SEC generally recruits power 5 conferences can’t hold a candle but Memphis was 100% the better coached team

I like how they don't show the onside kick. This ref crew is a joke. You cant call a penalty on something that a flag was never thrown for and then go back an watch tape to find it. Unless it is targeting. If you can, can someone please share the rule with me so I will be educated.
I had the same question following the game and it was pointed out to me that the illegal block on an onside kick is one of only a hand full of rules that is both reviewable and discoverable upon replay. You can not block someone from attempting to recover the ball before the ball travels 10 yards. Otherwise, every team out there would do it... Think about it.

Mike Leach was such a reach for the hire as HC at MSU. That offense hasn’t been truly successful ever. And you want to bring it into the SEC lol.. get him out of here and hire a young guy who is hungry. Not somebody who shows 0 emotion after his team is getting screwed by officiating. The DA threw 2 times on 3rd and 4th down on the 3 yard line against a defensive line that is almost half the weight of his O-Line. A 12 year old could have had better play calling majority of the game.

Memphis is gift wrapped a dead ball punt, gets a freebie onside kick redo that Miss. State legitimately recovered beyond 10 yards the 1st time, and gets away with two #4’s on the field all in the final minutes of the game. I’m not a fan of any SEC teams, but this was totally unfair.

The players froze when the referee came in to blow the play dead. The punt return should have never happened. I hate Mississippi State, but even an Ole Miss fan can call a stinker when he sees it.
The whole play was lazy by MSU. The play was live when he picked it up, doesn't matter what the ref was "about to do".
They froze way before the ref moved in. Besides Memphis already had the lead. Let's not pretend they weren't about to start a drive run the clock with a lead.
The players weren't paying attention to the ref. They left a live ball laying on the turf and got burned.

It states if a free kick(punt) comes to a stop without anyone touching it,the ball is considered dead and the receiving team gets the ball at the spot.
On kickoffs,the ball is live after 10 yards...
On punts, If the kicking team touches the ball,they must SECURE the ball before the play is ruled dead.
#1 did not secure the ball...he touched it with his hand,but stood up immediately afterwards...you can go look it up for yourself just like I did.
It's a live ball until someone secures it,not touch it,secures it.
Refs have just been blowing the play dead because no real action is happening...if you notice,the ref was about to wave his hands until the Memphis player runs to pick it up....he did that because he knows the rules.

At 6:10, the refs missed a blatant interference call. After all, that MS State player didn't just "trip" on his own. So, in reality the refs gifted 2 touch downs, so the score would've been 30-17.

Memphis got 7 extra points. The player had his knee on the ground and possession of the ball. Msu didn't play well anyway.
Read the rule book. Tapping the ball is not a possession. Never has been for the kicking team. It is like a a fair catch you must have control. A receiver cannot just touch the ball for a half second, and it be considered a catch. He must have control.

They let it play out as they've been instructed but the ref signaling the play dead is reviewable and should have been reviewed. It would then be confirmed to be Memphis ball at the 5 or wherever it was
