The bass keep going and going, ascending and ascending, what marvellous music.
The fact that during that section not only are they all playing the same notes, memorized them and did it so tightly is beyond incredible. Insane talent from every member
One of the tightest bands ever, everyone is so in sync with one another it’s absurd
The bassist is beast, really, tetsuo is something beyond imagination :)
This one song is filled with more talent than 90% of the music in existence. It's infuriating when people talk about "the best" musicians and have absolutely no clue who these guys even are
+Mindstorm Records Because the MSM needs to keep Americans thinking that THEY have the best of everything. It's the same type of mindless mindset with the "World Series" (for example) which geographically is confined to the United States (along with a couple of Canadian locations).
That is exceptionally accurate honestly probably less than 10% now with the way pop music is going
I love casiopea but 90% of music in existence? Overstatement much? And why be angry at people who are simply unaware? Enlighten them.
That is such a narrow scope of thought. Don't get me wrong, Casiopea is one of the best fusion bands that has ever existed, love them to death. But 'the best' musician is not just the best technically. Sure, every member of Casiopea has 100 people worth of talent in them. But that alone doesn't make you a good musician, let alone the best. Subjectivity aside, what makes a musician good covers a wide range of factors, Casiopea nails a lot, because they are damn good, but I can think of other artists that nail a lot more. It's not fair to judge contemporary music just based on technical skills. Playing Paganini might make you a virtuoso, but doesn't make you a good musician
5:16-end is some of (quite possibly the) best bass playing I’ve ever heard. Edit: Tetsuo Sakurai is a bass god. He might not have the dexterity of some other players, but he produces a fantastic sound, has great touch, can cleanly leap between chords/notes, and has a very polyphonic quality to his playing. One of my favorite (electric) bassist ever for sure
No question, Jack. The dude is one badass low-register ninja. The whole groop is insanely good ❤️
Japanese bass players in general are underrated. Highly technical and skilled. Truly masters of their craft and could go toe to toe and even exceed many of the greats of America. Tetsuo is definitely one of those masters.
@@windogendoors7566totally agree! If you haven’t seen it already, check out the live version of Casiopea’s “Black Joke” from 1979. Sakurai has like a 4 minute solo that’s just awesome
@@windogendoors7566that recording of black joke also features some out of this world playing from Takashi Sasaki (also very rare to get a live recording of him!) As much as I love Akira Jimbo, Sasaki was on a completely different level
1:00 me when I listen to Casiopeia
Wow, you have an eye for detail. That was an important detail too! I love it.
something really interesting from this band that I like besides the absolute mad skills they got, you can clearly hear the bass in almost evey recording, even on my cellphone, the sound of the bass, keys and guitar is very bright, but it doesn't sound bad at all, it's amazing and pleasant to listen to
I still can't believe How Tetsuo Sakurai could play the bass that fast
Got to give it up for the audience they are awesome
When we give off good energy the musicians give it right back in such a beautiful way!!!! I don't care for the phone recording folks who don't enjoy the moment
their really apreciate it and back then... there is no cellphone on concert i think better people focus on the concert not to record the show
Im not sure if this is Casiopea's most tiring bass lines to play LOL. Their music is a bit different from other jazz fusion pieces I've heard. One of the best.
SPACE ROAD
petition to use this song as rainbow road track song
I genuinely think this is the greatest song of all time
Tetsuo Sakurai's bass playing is sick.... surely an all-time great at the instrument
damn Akira, that double kick is so damn consistent!
Those 4 ... man ... legends ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love Space Road song from Casiopea because the hardest and difficultly played from guitar, bass, keyboard and drum, but they're played harmonizations music together so perfectly. That was insane. What a magnificently spectacular fusion jazz song. ♥♥
the reason why video and sound are not synced is they are very fast that the video cannot catch up
I like all the random jumps from the band members that seem completely out of place. 1:12 1:00
Perfection…. The team work the talent even the crowd what a composition what a masterpiece,I can say I’m a fan of Casiopea .
this is definitely my favourite casiopea live performance
i love tetsuo and akira theyre both amazing musicians
This song makes my day Everyday ! in the plane, while snorkeling, bouncing around on the way to space !
I read in the comments of another video this most likely inspired "Silence", one of my favorite F-Zero soundtrack tunes so I had to hear it for myself and OH MY GOD my mind is blown watching this.
Amazing !!!! That DX7 was the magic maker that time :)
CHECKPOINT - TIME EXTENDED
Their melodies are unmatched. So vocal and expressive, their songs are like happiness personified
One of my fav song.. then I realize this show was some kinda 30 years ago..
Genius !!!
Casiopea forever ❤
This is the quintessential version of this song! So perfect, awe inspiring and all around fun. Casiopea forever!
this song is where casiopea peaked in their live performances it was all downhill from there lol
just kidding of course
Still can’t stop listening to this song
Issei, Issei, magic guitar....maestro.....
The way Mukaiya-san stands up while playing a chromatic run to BEGIN his solo is just so cool
tetsuo is a MADMAN
How technical!!! That drummer is absolutely awenone. Can't believe this was recorded almost 30 years ago...
That moment when you realize that you won’t ever be able to go to hot sounds island 😔😔😔
Tetsuo!
Amazing!
This is probably THE best and THE most talented band I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. So much raw talent and just watching them perform you can just tell they are extremely passionate in not only making music but giving the audience a true music experience that you'll never forget. I wish i could've seen them in person.
Probably best casiopea performance ever
This was breathtaking
This is just so beautiful it’s incredible
Tetsuo Sakurai is sick.
Amazing!!!! Right up my street; I've always loved Fusion. I love that Yamaha guitar too; what a classic!!!! Carry on forever guys!
still can't believe they're human just like us, seriously..
When I talked with the manager of Casiopea 30 years ago, he said, "They practice a lot, especially Noro. If you are not willing to dedicate, you cannot be Casiopea."
Japanese/Chinese/Korean people are some of the most talented people out there. When they're great at something, they're inhumanely great.
This is the greatest song in the unniverse... Believe me, it's true
This version si amazing, flawless. It's so damn good.
this bass. just... wow! all my love to these guys
These guys are amazing
Sooooo glad i found this 😊😊😊🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not many bands have dual solos on guitar and bass, so crazy ❤ reminds me of tech death bands
So great !!
I like how the video is exactly 2 beats behind, so it still looks fine
They all give off good energy. i love em!!!
I knew them when I was 13 years old, then saw they have show in japan 1997, until now I still love what they play,,,
Fantastic! What a sensuous, inspiring composition!
We must add their sound man to the success of Casiopiea.
Good ol days!! Casiopea was one hell of a band!! Always love them!
the most awesome chemistry i have seen in my life! CASIOPEA IS GO
This is great!
Masterpiece!
2:41 Love that camera shot through the tom tom
can't get enough listening to that fantastic song...my favorite on youtube along with domino line.
Magnificent!
Pure genius!!!! High harmonics ever increasing and ascending, intruments tuned to 430. I'm in love.😘😘😍😍😘😘
so good.
todavia genio y por eterno
I love this song so much!!!
mood booster.!!
in the "Gentle Hearts" dvd, Tetsuo was 46yrs old at the time, but he looked to be in his early thirties, a sign that music that you enjoy playing doesn't age you.
The Japanese tend to age really gracefully from what I’ve noticed. Mariya Takeuchi is 67 this year but she doesn’t look a day over 40.
Check out the Japanese Jazz Fusion band Dimension if you guys and girls like this band! They will blow your mind!
Powerful!!!!
Amazing

April 23, 1983 - HOT SOUNDS ISLAND '83 was held at the Nippon Budokan.
The Japanese music scene at the time was in the midst of an unprecedented jazz fusion and AOR boom, so the fusion band Casiopea also participated.
Wonderful musicians, they deserve to be more known, this are great, to much rubbish music around, this is really the sound that i call : Future Sound !!!
Listen from Casipea The Sky, wonderful, in reality ll pieces for me are wonderful!!!
Music jazz terbagus sepanjang masa. The best music all the time. Salute.
Casiopea can sound like an entire orchestra despite only having four members
