The First verse is about heroine (veins that pumping fear, sucking darkest clear) and the second about cocaine, guess that was when you realized its about drugs (chop your breakfast on a mirror)

      9,8? Let's call that 10.
Believe me, best method of scoring is going with full and half numbers (i don't know to say since i'm not english, i mean like this:
      8 - 8,5 - 9 - 9,5...
      this system.
I suggest Low Lands by Gojira, there is a lot of thing to talk about in that video and song.

The melodic middle part is usually thought to represent the "blissful" moments when the addicted is high on drugs, which then inevitably, gradually breaks down and returns to the dark reality, starting the cycle anew. Now, I don't know if Metallica _really_ constructed it that way consciously, but it really does fit the narrative very neatly: the only part where the victim speaks is towards the end of that part where he sounds remorseful and angry as the high tapers off, and you can easily interpret his last scream ("Fix me!") either as a desperate reach for the needle ("I need another fix") or another person ("I need help"). Or both.
Metallica has a really wide ranging discography. Their 80s catalogue is basically one classic after another. Besides the two songs you've done, the other usual highlights include "Fade to Black", "Sanitarium", "Orion", "Creeping Death", "Blackened", "For Whom the Bell Tolls" etc... In the 90s, feeling they've done what they can on the extreme side of things, they largely abandoned thrash metal and got softer, more commercial, alternative rock-y... hard to describe since they are so versatile and tried so many things. Not everyone likes that period (to put it mildly), though they still produced some high shelf stuff if you ask me. "Sad but True", "The Outlaw Torn", "Bleeding Me", "Until It Sleeps" and "No Leaf Clover" would be my highlights from that era.

I always heard that the "Fix me" thing is about getting another dose, since I grew up in the 80's and that was the common slang for it (I think it still is).

    • @scumdog8365
      @scumdog8365 2 роки тому +1

This was my interpretation. I'll just add that I always assumed that leading up to the middle, the distorted "master, master", before it fades into the solo, was the addict calling out for the drug. "Just call my name cause I'll hear you scream"

    FUN FACT-
BABYMETAL dreamed of some day opening up for the legendary metal group Metallica that dream came true at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. As one might expect from the trio, they absolutely rocked the stage! Kicking off Metallica's Seoul show on January 11, 2017, BABYMETAL opened the night with an explosive 6-song set.
If you ask the girls who is there musical influence, they will say with a big smile METALLICA. Metallica showed them how amazing metal music can be, and the girls respect them a lot. If you google METALLICA & BABYMETAL you will see some cool pics of them together and the time BABYMETAL opened up for METALLICA.

Quick backstory: James was addicted to alcohol and eventually went through rehab. Although his music was never the same he became a better person. When they started out they had a bass player named cliff Burton he helped with writing the first 4 albums. The black album was dedicated to cliff, he died by the tour bus falling on him.

Thank you, again! I so appreciate the way you guys balance being able to pay attention to the lyrics while appreciating the music. I can't tell you how many reactors have jammed out to this song, then said "I have no idea what they were talking about" when it was over. I hope you guys do Metallica's trilogy song. It's "The Unforgiven", "The Unforgiven II" and "The Unforgiven III". Many of Metallica's songs are from the perspective of James Hetfield's (singer) life. His parents were strict Christian scientists. His father left the family when he was 13 and his mother died of cancer when he was 15. Because of her religious beliefs, she refused and was against all medications that may have saved her life. James has dealt with a lot of sadness, anger, confusion, guilt, and pain trying to deal with things in his life because of how they lived theirs, and how they left him at such a young age. This comes through hard in their song "Dyer's Eve" which I also hope you react to. Thanks again! Rock On!! \m/

Creeping Death live, Moscow 1991. I would consider this one of their best live performances.

If you want to do live, do Creeping Death live from Moscow 1991. One of the greatest rock concerts of all time. I can't afford patreon or I would do that. But no worries, just do it for you to enjoy.

If you want to see the best live version of this check the seattle '89 one. Thats how Metallica sounded like at their peak (late 80s early 90s)
    They were ridiculously awesome.

The slow part represents when the person actually takes the drug and there is that initial calming but then everything quickly goes to shit again.....my interpretation anyways

You should check the band Ghost. They have a very unique sound. Metallica are fans of this guys. Start by checking "Dance Macabre", "Cirice" or "Square Hammer" each one of this 3 songs from Ghost are bangers ;)

The best bands make solid use of rest notes/breaks/brief silence.
Auto like, and maybe I'll subscribe for some more Metallica 🤘😈
