Megan, I LITERALLY signed into youtube to tell you that you are totally adorable. And also, as an owner of a CX5 who has spent the last five summers car camping (meaning that I lug my tent around to sleep in), I am sad that I am selling my car at the end of the month because YOU MAKE SLEEPING IN THE CAR LOOK SO EASY!!
I feel very special 😌 Honestly, tent camping has its own charm! Good to hear you've gotten some adventures out of your Mazda though. It is so fun to zip around in. Zoom zoom 😎
great ideas and fun presentation. May i suggest you don't use disposable butane canisters? it is easy to upgrade and reduce your footprint by using refillable propane bottles. thanks happy thansgiving.
Your videos got me sleeping in my driveway every once in a while! And sometimes even in state parks. Your videos in the Tahoe have been a huge inspiration to me, hope it’s still around! Edit: d’oh… the Yukon. Same car 😅
Hi, Nice and simple set up! Wondering if you were going to say anything else about the back door and people putting carabiners on them? I wish my Jeep had a shut off for my back light, it's small like yours is. I do not want to mess up my lock putting the carabiner on there. Thank you safe travels 😊🙏 🏕
Thank you! I don't have much more information about the carabiner trick, but in my other rig (GMC Yukon), I was able to shut off the internal lights by pushing a button a few times. You might be able to find a how-to for your vehicle online!
Hi! I‘m looking to buy a 2014 Mazda CX-5, including for car camping sometimes, and just found out your video! Would you mind sharing exactly how long the space is from the boot door to the front seats? I‘m wondering if its long enough for a 180cm tall adult to sleep in. Thanks :)
Hi Megan, when you did that first build an you removed the back/ side panels....do you think it was worth it? ( Did it really add more space? How much ?). I'm trying yo decide if i should remove mine... But, only if its really worth it... Thank you in advance gor responding ❤❤
I believe it was worth it! Only on the drivers side. There are components behind the panel on the passenger side 😊 (Although, that’s assuming you have a similar model!)
I camp in my Mazda 3 sport and have decent space. I only wish I could get in and out via the hatch. How to you get on and out ? I can’t seem to figure out how to close the hatch from the inside
You've inspired me to sleep in my car in my front yard and next, go to a nearby campground - thank you!
@@pamelahitchcock4687 Go Pamela go!
I did SUV camping for the first time this week outside of Valley of Fire state park in Nevada. I have a Toyota Venza.

The small strainer is such a great idea! I avoid doing dishes because of food scraps but I’m 100% getting one of those.
Dollar store! 😎
I camped I my 4 runner in my Garage the 1st night 😂. It actually made me realize quite a few things. Great video!
Lol! That is awesome.

Lol, inspiring driveway camp outs - I am so proud of myself. 😄

Cool Mazda car camping setup 🙂
The CX5 is a great vehicle. I'd love to hear how you like it.
I looove it!
Good info! 💙
Nice set up 🙌 I do like those Mazdas. I’ve got a Honda CRV here in 🇬🇧 and also fit with winter tyres. That was a really good video thanks 🙂
Just the way you spell tires is a giveaway to where you're from 😄 Thank you!
My first night out was in a Walmart parkimg lot in 2019. I have a van.
Switching it up!
Gotta save some gas money 😄

Just buy a tent?
nice setup
Thank you!
What’s the brand of the little cook stove
Outbound 😊
Do you happen to know what year this first generation Mazda CX-5 is? It would have to be a 2013-2017 model year.
That's right! It's a 2014 :)
Very, very well done!

Correction. In and out
Use your key FOB.
@@sarasmile184 thanks sadly my 2017 closes manually and not with a FOB
Hey Debora, I also do not have a button on my key fob. I use the rear passenger door
Not bad
Does the trick!
Very compact, very demure…
🤭
I don't live in bear country. Lucky me! But I also don't enjoy waking up to a cold rattlesnake trying to stay warm. woohoo
Hahaha, straight out of Snow White!
