Note that carrot tops can’t grow back the carrot. However, they will flower and produce seeds, which you can plant to get new carrots. The leaves of carrots are edible too

@@gambiedwf3549 what I meant was, they planted a 'NORMAL'/ usual sized tomato seeds and the plant which grew out of it is shown to bear 'CHERRY TOMATOES. '
That is actually what will happen. The tomatoes you get in the grocery stores are usually hybrids and will not bear the same fruit if regrown. There is a lot in this video that is questionable but not the fact that they got cherry tomatoes as a result.
that’s actually possible. sometimes when you grow fuits from store bought items they can turn into a different hybrid.

I tried the mango in the paper towel and it didn’t work, so I tried a different way that I saw somewhere else. (I love mangos, thats why I tried this new way) If you take the seed and place it in a jar ( a wide and not too tall jar) then spray it with water, a root will appear after 3-5 days. Also, spray daily and leave outside in warm weather and sunlight for a LONG time. After 11 days, plant it in dirt, and IT ACTUALLY GROWS! I’m posting this so people don’t get upset if the hack shown here doesn’t work. It might be that I did something wrong, but if the hack in the video doesn’t work, try this way.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news though mangos are not true to seed. As in you will not get the same type of mango from the seed as the fruit and it'll often taste much worse and be smaller.
Also, you have to wait 5-8 years to find out if you got lucky
too bad, at my house 2 mango trees were cut down for fear of snakes and other large insects, even though the taste of the fruit is sweet, And where you live, usually mango seeds are sold with various varieties ranging from the size of the fruit to the taste and age of the tree to fruiting
Oh and also just so you know.... It will take 2-4 years for the first fruit to show.

I grow all kinds of edible plants hydroponically. Yes it is possible to grow plants in water. That is the only thing they got right. I looked at the greenery and was shocked that it looked like that in 30 days. I can't even get that much WITH fertilizer! Whoa!

The mango one works. They are really easy to get going. Helps if the house is warm, or if you have a heating pad, but the leaves are really neat. ❤
I tested the mango one before, and it actually works ! However, I recommend changing the paper regularly, if not daily to prevent your mango from rotting. Also, you should plant your mango roots in a soil very rich in organic materials (not sure if that’s how you say that in English-).
It most likely won’t give any fruits, but telling ppl that you are growing a mango at home is nevertheless a big flex imo, so it’s worth it lmao

@@vardikar270 it will but it will take many years. People usually grow a mango from seed and have it grafted with a branch from a tree that is already fruiting. Just like people go through different stages before they can reproduce, fruit trees and all plants are the same. When you graft you take already mature tissue (branch) and put it on a new tree. Look up grafting benefits if you're interested.

So, I went to Lowe's and got some bird seed. Used your methods, but I couldn't grow any birds. Think the bird seed is bad or your methods don't work.

The avocado thing was crazy. My son has full grown avocado trees in his backyard and even they don't always produce avocados every year. This is a good video if you like growing leaves using arts and crafts.
Get a clipping/cutting, it will more likely grow fruit, the seeds take 3-5+ years, and your not guaranteed to get fruit.
The avocado seed will grow into a tree ... eventually. But you have about a 1 in 10,000 chance of getting tasty avocados. Most will taste awful. (Same is true of apple seeds. You get crab apples instead.)
This is because some plants are not true seed to fruit. What spaagettii Man said was correct. I found a really good video that explains this better on UA-cam recently.

Okay, just finished watching the rest of the video. The pineapple thing works too. But it will take a while to get fruit. Mine took 2 years before it fruited.
Good luck with the avocado. I can have a child start elementary school and by the time they graduate the avocado tree still may have not bore it’s first fruit.
The fruit will also taste like shit because avocados don't breed true (taste like the parent fruit). You have to cut off the top of the seedling and graft a piece of an avocado tree that bears tasty fruit on top.
At 38 seconds you are showing a colander full of parsley. Coriander seeds grow cilantro.
You can grow tomato saplings the same way He did in the video.
I've been planting different tomato slices from different tomatoes for years now.
Usually takes 2 weeks before the saplings become large enough to see properly.
It might take a few times to figure out how much watering and moisture the seeds really need.
But it works on all the tomatoes i've bought from the Supermarket.
Just be patient and keep trying.

Forgot to mention this, you dont need to bury the tomato slice / seeds that deep.
I usually fill the pot with soil, take the tomato slice and put it ontop, then cover it just with 1 centimeter of soil.
Plant the slice too deep or too shallow and it Will just mold and rot.
Too much water and its the same issue.
I doubt anyone will see these comments, but oh well.

Mine started rotting and molding, no sprouts. I'll stick to prepping the seeds like they should before planting in nurseries lol.

Mango tried and tested and yes mine worked as the video suggested. Once planted cover with a bag or bottle to create a mini Greenhouse effect. It's still growing strong and is roughly 30cm tall now with lots of rich dark green leaves :)

I didn’t think it would happen but I was able to grow cherry tomatoes from a slice of one (I didn’t separate the seeds or anything, just tossed a slice of tomato into soil and now I have a bunch growing)
I believe it is because there were a lot of seeds in Tomato. Even when you sliced it, there are still a lot of seeds in each slice.

That is cilantro/coriander, which is what is grown from coriander seeds. Obviously, YOU don't know how to identify it. It is related to parsley, and they are in the same family. It is even called Chinese parsley.
I know cilantro. I buy it every week. The stuff they claim was grown from coriander seeds was not cilantro. Cilantro does not have curly leaves.

Some of these will end up rotten, cuz you have to have dry seeds before you can sprout. Some need cold to sprout. Some aren't even the same plant. Ridiculous.

You do know that you still need water/moisture in order for dry seeds to sprout, right? I know this because I am growing pothos/devil's ivy, green onions, and lavender plants in my apartment. The lavender seeds came with a plant pot, soil, and instructions. The instructions stated similar to what you've stated. The instructions also stated to spread the seeds and gently press the seeds into the soil. About a week ago, I saw one seed that sprouted. Something told me to get more potting/planting soil, that I bought months ago (originally for my pothos/devil's ivy plants), and cover the all the seeds, including the first one what sprouted. Guess what, some of the others are sprouting. The pothos/devil's ivy plants, that I have, is nothing to compare to how many I've had before. That, I will take blame for because I was too excited about re-potting/planting my pothos/devil's ivy plants by cutting off the nodes, and leaving the leaves. I was able to save some of the plants/nodes that I didn't cut off, and put them in water, and in sunlight. I'm also getting new leaves.

Yeah, not EXACTLY 2 weeks, more around a couple of years for it to produce lemons.

Takes 6-8 weeks for seeds to germinate. If you get a good tree without grafting it's unlikely

This would be fun to do with kids so they can watch the little leaves grow. Outside of that I'm pretty certain the only things that work are the sprouts since they just end up as they are in salads, soups and sandwiches. As for the rest we sometimes used paper towels to see if a seed would germinate but than we promptly either planted in a garden or if it was still to cold, a seed tray until it was warm enough. We had like 4 acres of gardens growing up. We did keep a few herbs in flower pots indoors over the winter though.

I grew lots of weed and my father created his own plants through trying out various methods..
We had a plant the experts called the Siamese weed plant and it was the first Siamese weed plant..
At school when I was age 5 years old the school teachers laughed at me for saying when I grow older I am going to help trees and 32 years later in my back garden I have a Apple tree, cherry tree, pear tree and a plumb tree and all the trees in my back garden have a protection mark on em and it was my local council who put the the protection mark on my trees

You have to rinse the sprouts with fresh water at least once a day for the first three days, and never let them completely dry out -- nor let them sit in water. They just want to be damp. Then eat them as soon as they're sprouted like you see in the photo - refrigerate what you don't eat, but they go bad quickly. I love sprouts on my sandwiches, thrown in with scrambled eggs at the end of cooking, tossed on top of a single serving of salad (not good to mix into the whole salad at once, can go bad quickly), tossed into soups at the end (so they're still crunchy). They're a great source of greens in the winter here in the Northeast. You can buy seeds/beans for sprouting in just about every veggie you can think of - radish, broccoli, mung bean, soybean, alfalfa, and so much more. Fun to do with kids. You can buy kits online that have different lids with small to large openings (so small seeds don't fall out when you rinse them) -- and I use "family size" peanut butter jars with these lids. Your local health food store may sell the lids, too.

Have been gardening for thirty plus years, and yes some of these will work. I have grown hundreds of new garlic and onion bulbs and shoots from grocery store bought bulbs. Buy organic.
Puts in slicing tomato variety, out comes cherries. 60% of the time it works everytime. 💪
With succulent leaves - for example an aloe vera cutting - it's best to let the cutting sit a couple of days so the cut heals over, and THEN root it. It's less likely to rot. And as you see in this video, you only want a small part of the bottom of the cutting in water. Just keep an eye on the water level so it doesn't dry out.

For the folks laughing about the lemon seed growing into a fruit-bearing tree after two weeks, that's not necessarily what the video intends you to think - it just says plant the sprouted seed after two weeks. Then the video shows you the sapling with a lemon growing. But like a lot of people have said here, it can take a few years to get fruit, depending on how you take care of it and where you live. Or it may never bear fruit.
I don't know about lemon trees, but many fruits and pretty much all veggies also need at least one other plant of the same kind so that insects can transfer pollen from one plant to the other and make them "pregnant." I learned this the hard way after keeping a pepper plant alive in a container for years and never getting a pepper. Then I grew a second one and they both flowered and produced peppers.
It's kind of like discovering -- when reading up on goats, because my boyfriend wanted to make goat cheese -- that you have to get your goat pregnant in order for her to make milk, so you have to do a lot of stuff to get her mated, and then you're taking milk away from the babies. When I told my boyfriend that, he decided he didn't want to make goat cheese after all! That's why it pays to do your homework, yes?

Everyone is complaining about all these intricacies about the place to that grow from these seeds and me, I'm over here wishing the seeds I tried to grow didn't rot or dry out completely because my green thumb in black like death.
Don't go thinking that you can't grow anything right away. I know how you feel and I was the same with my first tries at it. But with some work and know what you are best (with starting your own) at can get you the garden you love. Don't give up! I know I got better from starting off as a black thumb.
Btw some people are complaining, but with some of these comments there are those who just think the video is a good laugh. Others who comment can eventually learn to be better gardeners from those who respond.
8:16 , How it's possible to grow a lemon tree in two-week, We are doing lemon farming while, lemon flower to lemon takes around 4 months, and the plant takes around 2 to 3 years to grow.

The crazy thing is, I'm not a planter/gardener, and some (if not most) of these do actually work. I bought a pothos/devil's ivy plant months ago, and ignorant me cut off the nodes on/from most of the plants. I ended up doing the water propagation technique when I didn't have to but, I wanted to. I'm still getting new leaves/plants from other nodes/stems that I saved. I bought a lavender kit, almost a month ago. The instructions stated two options. I already had soil that I bought for my pothos/devil's ivy plant(s). So, I mixed that soil (Happy Frog) with the soil that came with the lavender kit, and soaked the soil(s) in water. I spread the lavender seeds, gently pressed the seeds into the soil. That was part of one of the instructions. Something told me to cover the seeds, completely but, I didn't do that. I only saw one seed that sprouted. When I finally decided to take more Happy Frog soil, and cover the seeds, completely, two more seeds sprouted. The first seed that sprouted, I added more Happy Frog around it. I see more leaves sprouting from that one seed. I want to try that with tomatoes, and I will. I am also growing left over scallions bulbs in water in my kitchen. I have also used Happy Frog for other left over bulbs scallions.
I would like to see how these vegetables grow to fruition. I am one that usually plant a vegetable garden but I’d be willing to try what you showed in this video as long as I can see what the end result of everyone of those things was.
A little false alot will work but alot are not true to seed so its waste of time try old celery base or something like that im growing celery right now like that

In general your tip of keep the seeds wet and warm is fine.I have several seeds bursting right now out of moist paper towel starters. You can produce real, healthy, large quantity food very easily in a small
space, and inhospitable conditions.
I hope this inspires people to find plant growing strategies for their garden that actually work, as opposed to most of these short sighted video ideas. I think the most egregious violation of common sense here is the 2 week subtitle for the lemon tree producing fruit.
1) It's more like 302 weeks, and
2) The good part is you will NEVER produce only one fruit that size. (That single lemon pictured on a knee high "tree" is incredibly stupid.) If your tree produces fruit you will have to use another tip, cut out half the flowers and prop up the producing limbs. We had some small pear trees in a property we rented when I was a child and even the small one produced on the order of 300 fruit. The limbs weighed down very dangerously, nearly ripping off the tree due to weight. This will be true for any dense fruits like lemon, apple, and pear.
Another example of what you do NOT want, as opposed to this depiction.
The average corn cob holds over 400 seeds. You cannot have even 40 corn stalks in 1/4 meter, or 1 foot. 40 of those seeds properly spread in a line will cover 20 feet easily. 400 corn planted that tightly will be an unruly mess.
(I'd never seen that egg thing before but I think it's fun. Here is the change. make a hole in the bottom for drainage, and plant 1 or 2 never more than 4 seeds in it. When you plant the egg as a seed holder, just break it all around. It is a great idea. I am going to do this today.

Watched a vid on avocado trees a few months ago. You will have little chance on getting one avocado seed to grow into a tree that grows avocados. Plant 5 to be safe.
When I was younger I wanted a flower so I got sunflower seeds and put it in a cup and wet towel but someone threw them out :(

The plant's will grow about 2 meters tall. If you don't have a big garden then you can't get a flower anyway.

Planting just a few corn plants isnt enough, it takes a lot of corn to pollinate the ears of corn. I dont like to plant anything with a "container" around the roots, especially those biodegradable starter cups. They dont break down fast enough and inhibits root development. Same thing will happen with the eggshells.
