  • In this video I struggle and replace the timing chain on my cbr600rr only to find out it wasn’t the issue, I then make a chain tensioner which solves the problem, replace the much needed air filter, and test out a new action camera!

Honda "enthusiasts" always argue about the oil pump slack being rhe cause of the buzzing. In my opinion its either the chain or the clutch basket springs located in the rear of the basket, which are designed to reduce shock during engagement.
If I had to guess about the ticking youre hearing Id wager that some valves need their clearances adjusted.
That garage looks cold, I respect the commitment.

I ended up making a manual tensioner because it was the timing chain that still had slack, it’s now gone away, but I’m tearing apart the bike to replace the timing chain I’ve somehow created an exhaust leak on one cylinder, not a big deal though

@Jager_M I'm confused? The vid says it was the oil pump chain? Can you describe the sound you were hearing?

I would of struggled with the job without removing the engine. Also, get a front stand for that bike. It makes for an easy day. Lastly, hit me up for a Service Manual. It get a lot easier.

Yeah I plan to get a front frame stand along with a rear one but I didn’t have one at the time.
