You covered the topic well. Not too deep, but just enough to make the point. I like redundancy. I live in an urban environment with a small yard. I always carry a lighter, a small tin of char cloth, and a mini Ferro rod. And of course a cutting tool.They're light weight and take up little space. I use them interchangeably whenever I want a fire. It keeps me connected to the woods, even though I don't have many opportunities to go camping. Just good old habits that give me peace of mind. I think you meant a hypothermia situation. Hyperthermia is way over heating the body. I don't think that you would want to build a fire in the instance of Hyperthermia.
