can't see Chelsea but somehow I can still see her staring holes through Zack when he says 1001 dollars
Yes, because every dollar a guy spends must be approved by a chick.
MGTOWN incel response. You totally let the joke fly over you
@@That90sShow There's a difference between $1 and $1000....
@@caeert2962 what does it matter? How much do you think her shoe collection cost? Lmao
@@That90sShow Ahhh yes, because all women have $1000 worth of shoes. $1000 is ridiculously expensive for a toy set.
In my day wrestlers spent all their money on crack not figures.
yeah well we are 80s babies .
so you get video games n action figures. sorry man
pepperidge farm members!!
And most of them are probably dead now. So which is the right way to live?
Today’s the day boys
That’s cold
At $1001, this ring and figures are still worth more than the actual AWA when it folded in 1991.
You got to be careful having the ropes too tight though, they can pull the corner posts inwards and warp the whole thing. Had it happen to me.
ello you
i know it is pretty off topic but do anybody know a good place to stream newly released movies online ?
@@maximiliankase963 I always buy my movies cause stealing isn’t cool bro. Oh and a crime too, what a scumbag. Woo woo woo!
Damn you really are everywhere
You can see the hole in the box, on both sides.
And I looked up the sold listing on eBay, the seller even disclosed that the box had a hole on each side lol
Too excited to read details.
herman harris nerd
Yeap just looked it up too LOL seller says box has a hole on both sides and showed photos of it
Orlando Oropeza I sell on eBay, it’s second nature for me to look up the sold listing. If something is selling for $1,000 + then I make sure to look out for that item.
I looked it up too, but I find it shady that the seller couldn’t shine a light in the “turnbuckle shots” hole because the damage would have been visible. That would have been the right thing to do as a seller. However as a buyer, logic would tell you that with a hole on both sides of the box, whatever foreign object would have also perforated the contents of the box.
5:20 Best Zack Ryder promo ever
That’s Karen Broski.
When Zack started flipping out I thought I was watching Jersey Shore of Wrestling figures
"this is not funny, babe" made it 1000x funnier.
The way he goes "it's beenpierced! It's beensliced!" like joining the words together just had me in stitches.
Man, this brings back memories. I was a WWF fan, so Christmas of 1985 I asked for and was fortunate enough to receive the WWF ring, Hulk, Iron Sheik, and Piper. My older brother was more into AWA, and he got this. And it was so much better. You could actually play with those figures and make them move. Underrated.
5:30 is amazing. Bless Chelsea for not laughing
The ring is not cardboard Zack. The cardboard is the protector box take that out and you’ll see the wood lol
I was gonna say the same thing. He probably realized that later, felt 'silly'🤭 about it, and decided not to mention it on the podcast because of how 'silly'😖 it would make him look.
Gotta admit your mistakes, Broski🤨
Maybe a good thing for Matt that the Remco license was bought out and absorbed by Jakks in the 90's otherwise Remco might be able to file an injunction on misrepresentation of their purchased product 😂
When matt said the price you could tell Chelsea was trying not to kill him behind the camera XD
Be mad at Remco, not the seller. I've seen more impressive pizza boxes.
It was a total piece of shit. Mine broke within a few weeks of playing with it back in the day.
Yeah, the seller couldn't have had known. It was sealed.
Poor broski...damn
Better yet he could have used a 22" pizza box for a remco ring andit would up better durability
Best promo you ever cut.
@Zamza ok boomer
Great vid bro! Love the behind-the-cam comments from Chelsea! Keep scratching that itch!
5:15 to 5:31 Lmfao A CLASS promo,Push him vince!
LMAO ZACK SAID “I can’t keep this...I can’t keep this”💀💀
I enjoy that these guys treat them like the toys that they are and open them up. i never understood collectors that keep everything in box and pristine, sure you'll get a lot of money if you ever decide to sell them but toys are for playing, not for displaying.
Ahahahaha what's a matter Broski? You got a $1,000 ring with a hole, damn I bet that was a kick in the nuts!! The only thing that would of made this video better for me is if the other ring was damaged too
Much love for the Remco AWA figures! I almost own the entire collection and my buddies and I played with them daily, back in the day. I owned 2 rings when I was a kid because I accidentally fell on top of one of them, which, obviously, broke it. I was so sad but, fortunately, I was able to get another one. By the way, this is the first time that I've ever seen the Battle Royal check!! 👍
Matt just went all "Can I speak with your manager" mom meme. I couldn't handle his stressful energy.
Bradley Manley For $1,000 I don’t blame him LOL.😂
AWA did it right back in the day with action figures
True, their figures moved.
I still rue the say in Elementary School, we had some assembly/special event... and they had 5-10 Prizes that they did a Drawing for... (I was like 9 so I forget the reasons) and I Won and had the choice between a toy Jeep or a Flair/Martel 2-pack ...
I Knew of Flair, but we didn't get NWA here so I had no idea how big he was, and Martel had just Left AWA, so I opted for the jeep... in hind sight I should have taken the figures (as noted they were pretty much on Scale with the He-Man/ MOTU figures of the era, which I had healthy collection.
Keep America Great Loved growing up in the' 80s! I feel that I grew up @ the perfect time.
Remco probably made it cardboard so it was cheaper to produce to bring the manufacturing cost down because they were including so many figures with it. It's good that Zack opened it because now that damaged one is out of circulation.
The box had a hole in it right where the hole in the ring was!
that Remco AWA toy championship belt for kids was my SHIT back in the day. would love to land one again.
"It's not funny."
It's kinda funny...
When Chelsea laughed, i laughed too
Dick Johnson (Yes, that was his name) is the ref in the box, He was also our Swan's man in Edina MN. in the 80's.
Watching this video brought back so many memories.. My son who is just about five and I have been collecting together and have about 400+ wrestlers but he has no idea about the LJN’s and items like the AWA guys you just opened. You just inspired me to go down to the basement and break out my retro toy box and get them ready for that figure bath. I thoroughly enjoy all your videos. I’m from LI as well so much love and can’t wait for more videos. Woo woo woo!
You could tell that was Ric Flair right away even from that tiny picture 😂
Man I would have been so angry with that being damaged. Good thing he hooked up with a new one.
The seller posted the damage in item description. Doesn't anyone read anything before they buy something online?? It takes 30 seconds to read the info about the item. If I were the seller, I would have told Zack to go back and read the description again and have a nice day!!!
Sub Zero it was sealed the seller would never know if it were damaged.
I’ve never seen matt mad, I don’t want to see it again
I can't help but laugh when Broski flips out
The old Remco figs scale perfectly with original He-Man figs
I loved the sound of my hasbro and attitude rings while playing. I bet a hollow wooden ring woulda been accousticly satisfying
That seller came through making an even better wooden ring!
I remember buying plenty of the wooden rings at the lucha liner matches in the 1980s.
As a matter of fact I remember having those figures that you showed here but they are nothing like todays figures with the moving parts. You really had to have an imagination back in the days to set up some good matches with these action figures!!!
Nice review and you brought back good old memories!
Oh cool I want a wooden ring. Any idea where I can physically go to get one?
You can make one yourself, it's pretty easy. One of the AWA ring playsets was literally made of cardboard, so replicating that would be even easier and cheaper.
You just need to make a square wooden frame (4 equal lengths of wood held together with metal L brackets), nail some boards across it to create the mat, fix square legs into each corner, insert wooden rods into the corners, then cover the mat with padding and a square of fabric canvas. You can find a set of replacement ring ropes fairly cheaply online.
With my figures that come with the really rigid belts, I don't take chances. I still display the originals with the sets, but I make my own replicas for the figures to wear. A 3D printer and images from the internet printed on a decal sheet and you have yourself a decent replica. It won't fool a collector but works for display.
He was doing well until Chelsea started laughing at him lol
Brock Lesnar: I destroy wrestlers!
The Kliq: We destroy careers!
Vince: I destroy dreams and careers!
Broski: I destroy mint packagings of classic wrestling figures.
Entire earth: Shudders.
Brock Lesnar: I want money !
The Kliq: We want careers !
Vince: I want dreams !
Broski: I want mint packagings of classic wrestling figures.
Broski your a true collector. Your show rocks brother
Love your action figure passion! Us collectors are all the same. Lol
I have owned several AWA rings and never knew there was a wooden or cardboard variant...? All have been hard plastic... or was that just for the cage? I also prefer the actual turnbuckle variants that Hasbro copied for their rings.
i've had hard plastic accessories with some of my figures..... if you want to try and put the titles on them, it sometimes helps to soak the titles in hot water, or boil on the stove. might help.
I remember that ring....I wanted that ring....I liked the figures more than the WWF figures....Plus it had a ref.....
Loved that she laughed at you.most those rings were like that back in day dude
Awesome. I'd go crazy too if something supposedly mint was busted.
ya i don't blame you for the freak out Broski! i feels your pain!
I want those Fabulous Ones figures! I remember seeing them wrestle at my high school when I was a kid. Them, Rock n' Roll Express, Moondogs and Road Warriors were my favorites!
1001 broski rip off............. love it
I had that bad boy as a kid. Nostalga is running wild for me!
I know it may be late to comment but maybe you could put the belts in warm/hot water until they are pliable and put them on whatever fig U wanted.
I love the flyer with the Riviera Hotel and Casino on it, I wasn't in Vegas in the 1980s but got here in the 1990s and we had the Buffalo Wrestling Federation run by the late 'Buffalo' JIm Barrier (he even had Yokozuna do some shows before he died in London).
I perfered the cardboard ring over the all wood one, because it was a lot more quiet to play on the the other one,but my favorite was the plastic one that came with the steel cage set that was my main ring for years.
Zach Ryder: These are worth so much money
Also Zach Ryder: Drops figure
You're just like WWE, can't spell Zack Ryder
I can’t wait for the point in their feud when Nick Gage trashes Matt’s toy room
buy a mint awa figures on ebay with a piece of damage NOBODY: ...………………. ZACK RYDER : im getting my refund woo woo woo YOU KNOW IT
At least you tried.
r/youngpeopleyoutube...?
“This ring is like Bill Miekina when he’s watching NXT matches H A R D “ I lost it 😂😂😂
I had the same ring set as a teen back in the 80's. My version was the second one that you unboxed. I was so into that set that my friend actually built me an arena made out of wood. It has some wood blocks to fit inside the ring to secure it in place. There was also guard rails surrounding the entire ring and an announcers table. I also remember that the turnbuckles were bigger than the ones you have included and were black. I also had wrestling belts, but they were made of flexible plastic and actually were durable and fit the wrestlers.
I had the other AWA battle royal set with the road warriors as a kid. Mid 80s retail price at k mart: $25. No lie. Good deal, even back then.
1000 dollars, partially made of cardboard.... yeah, that’s the line in collecting I won’t cross
OMG! Lee's Toy Review! I used to buy that magazine from my comic shop. I was so disappointed when they ceased publication. Sure there are toy news sites online but, they don't thrill me like the magazines used to.
Cool that the seller sent you a replacement ring but, I would have sent him a partial refund for the damaged ring because you are going to sell the damaged ring. Lose some money, regain some money.
100% not the sellers fault!
Lucky he did anything about it i wouldn't have on a manufacturer error
there was a hole in the box...
eLL there is always one person🤣that must be you. I’m sure a higher end item he didn’t ship it with a hole genius that would be the carrier fault. And he fixed it but nice try
@@wusb8 the seller posted that the box had a hole through it!!! It was in the item description with pics!!!! Zack bought it anyway because he just has cash to toss around and doesn't read item descriptions. As the seller I would have told him to go back and read the description and have a nice day!!! No refund would have been issued.
Zack's second shirt is for a very specific audience.
I honestly wish I found these videos sooner!!! I cant get enough of them!!!
I can not believe that you opened it in the first place but then you opened the figures. I guess I am just a different kind of collector.
That ring needs The CARBONARO EFFECT.
I remember the AWA two packs on the shelves at the Ames and Jamesway growing up.
Ames and Jamesway? Nice. I never saw them at either. Sears had a store here in Quakertown, PA that was a discount store where they sold damaged items as well as close-out items. I saw all of the 2 packs and 3 packs. I got my Mom to buy me one and my Grandmother bought me 2 more. I got Abdullah/Carlos Colon, Stan Hansen/Crusher Blackwell and The Freebirds. It was such an awesome moment in my childhood that when I think about it, I can "see" it again as if it just happened.
When I saw that hole in the ring it completely took my breath away I had to pause the video breathe not get worked up finish the video as soon as I possibly can and once you get the replacement a sigh of relief but then you open the figures which killed me inside so yes I was the guy who was tormented but very appreciative of the video I've always wondered what it look like inside this box thank you for involving another great find #TMWFP
as an ebay seller, this is a nightmare because the buyer is justifiably upset & theres no fault on the seller, so u have to hope the buyer is a good person and reasonable in fixing the issue. really cool of you to give him a shoutout
Thankfully he had that replacement ring so it’s no harm no foul!
Did Matt just pull Stan Lane tights down?
I had this as a kid and most of the figures . They were the only toys I had back in 86
Sweet job shafting the seller Broski!
absolutely, he repackaged this with a damaged one as no one would ever unbox this item, and kept the mint one. eBay scams are soooooo consistent.
That ring is different than the one I had as a kid. Mine had particle board for the top and sides with blocks of wood, underneath, for the ring posts to sit in. Ok well I starting writing this before it ended so I'll finish with... I, eventually, took the sides off so they could hide underneath the ring and pull out weapons. Loved playing with those figures.
Well, even growing up in South Louisiana I never saw an AWA ring, and only got to play with the WWF ring when I was babysat by a certain woman whose son had it. Also, I only ever had one of the figures and it was Jesse Ventura, because at the time that I got that, I actually had a family, and my stepbrother got Hulk Hogan, so they didn't want to buy two of the same one.
Everyone has worked for Vince so long nobody calls them belts anymore
My folks got my brother and I this for Christmas -- I got my Roddy Piper (the big ass LJN rubber figure) and the Road Warriors - My brother got a Ric Flair and an Arn Anderson from somewhere.
Roddy towered over this ring.
I loved the old figs but the jakks pacific figs of the late 1990's were the best looking and the most articulated but by that time I had moved on from toys sadly but I still appreciated them and still do
I never knew that they made a ring for this figures, had a ton of them as a kid and actually still have the road warriors figures with the titles, dog collars and chaps
Man I know for sure I had the fabulous ones as a kid, just flashed back to the suspenders and the bow tie lol I can’t recall if I had the whole set or not man love the 80s toys
I'm so glad I found this channel brisk. My two favorite things...... Wrestling and figures! As a 35 year old kid myself theres nothing like mini figures wrestling rings!
Never seen Zack lose his cool in the ring but he lost his cool about a ring. But I can see why I mean he spent good money just to get something that was damaged this is why I hate eBay you never know what you will get.
Don’t b mean to the broskette broskie, woo woo woo🔥
the old wcw figures came with a gold colored wcw belt that was actually well made the wwf belt looked better but the end where it clips always broke off;:(
Within 1min. Of watching broski showing off the box there's a punctured hole right through the box before he took it out which lines up with the hole in the ring
Get a hair dryer and warm up the belts on low settings. It should bend with no problems.
Lol this happens to all of us collectors . Bro ski love the realness.
1..2..3 DING 🔔DING🔔 I'LL BE BACK JACK
Broski meltdown 😂. If it was unopened, how would the seller know it was damaged? 😂
eBay pictures show there is a hole on both sides it should've been common sense or even ask seller is there a possibility items inside are damaged
I laughed, I cried, I called for help but its all ok now. Great vid!
i had this. and the one they put out before it that came with a steel cage. also remember getting a Abdullah Carlos Colon 2 pack for my birthday.
Herbert Camplin sounds like the wwc special
Literally had this set when I was a kid.
That’s a true figure collector
He got nothing on me. He calls himself the Michael Jordan of Wrestling figure collecting. Haha!!! I have wrestling figures that he only wishes he could have. Dude needs to be humbled.
The belts warm water will make them soft boiling water will let you shape the belts to fit the wrestlers
I bet Chelsea was cracking up , I was waiting for her to remind Zack it was 1001$
How is it the sellers fault when the box wasn't open... really robbed a guy of $1000 cause it's opened now
idk anything about collecting but do you think the value would go up since it was opened by a wwe superstar?
@@justindc5362 I mean it's definitely cool but i doubt it
D T he didn’t give him the money back. He gave him a stand-alone ring that was not a part of the rare battle royal set. Impossible to assign a value to the replacement ring unless you are a collectibles dealer yourself.
@@palmerj0901 this was posted right as he was cursing abt how mad he was, it sounded like he was gonna ask for a refund, but getting another ring for free because of a company's error 30 years ago sucks for everyone involved
It’s not the sellers fault but if you paid 1,000 expecting a mint condition ring you would want a refund
Zybsko was so fun to watch. I was watching AWA in Channel 20 - KOFY when i was about age 13-15.
Great video! Curious to know how that hole got there. Do you think one of figures limbs go through it?
There's a hole in the box and it was in the sellers description too. The entire box was pierced all the way through by some type of object apparently. He didn't have to buy it, the seller explains in the info that it has a hole in it, but he was probably too excited to read the item description. This is a case of buyers fault. He's lucky he got a partial refund. The guy probably felt bad, but he didn't have to refund anything.
I got this for my 11th birthday. Classic.
Lol. I remember buying the solo ring for under 10 bucks @ Big Lots when I was in the 6th grade.
I had the AWA Steal cage. I grew up in NYC and only a few toy stores had them
Oh my broski you’re reminding me of an angry customer I had a couple weeks ago because the authentic scale ring I sent him didn’t have all the bottom pieces. I included tables but the guy was just so pissed about the unnecessary bottom pieces and gave me my first 2 star review -_- as a seller I think I’m scarred for life.
