  • This boot is a great "tweener" between an MX boot and a traditional motorcycle touring boot. Shop the boot here:
    www.klim.com/A...
    While wearing this boot for 4 Months Straight... I found it to be super comfortable to walk in and it offers great protection on and off the bike. The Video explains my feelings... but this is what KLIM says about their boot: Adventure touring requires a fine balance between riding protection, weather protection and walking comfort. The Adventure GTX boots are engineered from rugged materials, using an intuitive design to bring comfort, durability and ease of use to any adventure touring ride. Unique feature sets deliver unrestrictive support tailored for long distances, without eliminating important walking comfort for visiting your destination.

      Don't sell yourself short Kyle. I have noticed the last few seasons you are advancing your riding skills a whole bunch. I commend you on wearing good riding gear.
      I want to recommend to you in the hard sections to use your expertise on traction loss/grip. You have a lot more experience than most riders just for the fact all the different tires you have tested.

    This was a fantastic review, thanks for the video. I'm considering these because my Dainese daily driver boots are starting to leak. They are goretrx but Dainese has horrible support and has fought me hard on past warranty claims unlike Klim.

    Wife and I are getting these boots to replace are 5 year old TCX’s. The non Gortex waterproof liner made them smell like cat pee since day one. In reality though when we want true waterproofing, we wear seal skinz waterproof socks. They make any boot waterproof

    Seriously, I hate them things! I bought a pair yesterday and the fact that they have so much room in the front makes it a pain in the ass to get my foot between the foot peg and the shifter. So you do have to adjust the shifter which can be a problem later when you change boots or you decide to wear a different pair of shoes or boots. I know because that happened to me with another pair of boots. I adjusted the shifter for those boots, and when I try to use other boots or even some tennis shoes because I was going to a local park to work out, I couldn't flex my foot far enough to to shift . So I think that I'm taking them back to the store. They are nice looking boots but a lot of people have had very negative experiences with the BOA system. Mainly with the cable breaking. For repair of boots that cost about $450 dollars I expecting more.
    I know a lot of people rave about Klim products. But I also bought a Klim Badlands Pro Jacket, a 1,150 dollar jacket and I really don't think he's that great. Not for 1100 bucks I think doesn't have a liner inside, it's more like a rain jacket. A very expensive rain jacket. The neck opening is somewhat adjustable but not enough for my neck so if it's quite loose around my neck, if I were to write that jacket in the rain, rain will find its way down my neck and I will get it wet. Another Klim product that he's going back to the store.
    I'm starting to think that Klim is the equivalent of BMW motorcycles for the gear market. BMW motorcycles over engineer, over priced, and overrated motorcycles in the market. With 40% of the owners reporting mechanical problems with the motorcycle, make it at one of the top two least dependable motorcycles. But BMW has done an amazing job at marketing. Their motorcycles has some of the best motorcycles in the world. Klim reminds me a lot I'll BMW it seems that Klim has done an amazing job at marketing and when people buy the products they're paying for namebrand. I am sure that a lot of people disagree with me, but for the cost of the products, I think they leave a lot to be desired.

      Thanks for your feedback. I wore these boots every single day for 6 months. The toe box is HUGE and does require a big adjustment of the shift lever, more so than my motocross boots. That frustration aside, they are the most comfortable boots have ever adventure ridden in… snowmobiled in etc…
      When it comes to the garments, Klim used the best ingredients they can get ahold of and put them all together to make the best garment they can. The price is the price. I have owned a Badlands, and it was great… but for me was too heavy and not flexible enough. I now wear the Carlsbad and LOVE it! I also wear the Baja S4 all summer. Amazing. I wear base and mid layers tailored for the season / ride condition.
      Klim is the best of the best. Lifetime warranty. It’s good stuff in my opinion.
      Sincerely, Kyle

    Excellent review! Planning to buy these soon as I'll be riding to hiking destination and do some 3-5 mile trails. Do you think they'll be comfortable enough to walk those 2-3 hour trails?
    Also, would you recommend the KLIM over other adventure boots such as Forma Adventure or Sidi Adventure 2?

It is a very similar boot to this KLIM Adv. GTX boot in terms of protection. The GTX boot is more comfortable for "all day walking" - You should be happy with the Tech 7 Enduro. - Kyle

    I've been stuck between these and the A-stars Corozal Drystar boots for a while now, but I'm thinking the Corozal has more protection. I'm a huge fan of Klim, but ride dirt decently often (almost every day on the way home from work and weekend trips). Any advice would be appreciated!

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  4 роки тому

      Yes, I have worn the Tucan boots when they were first released... a week long trip down to Mexico and back... In them ALL Day for 8 days. They are "tighter" and a littler more restrictive than the KLIM Adventure GTX boots. The are not quite as comfortable all day, but they are a great set of boots!

  • @jeffloucks2120
    @jeffloucks2120 3 роки тому +1

    Hi Kyle. Any experience with the Alpinestars Belize/Corosal boot compared to these? They look relatively similar to eachother. My biggest concern with these style are protection. Do have Sidi crossfire 2's for the tougher stuff.

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  3 роки тому +2

      Yes Sir! When they were released I bough both... wore the Corozal for ADV and the Belize for my commutes to work. I too ride mostly in my Sidi Crossfire boots. The Alpinestars Belize/Corosal boots are similar to the KLIM Adventure GTX boots... The KLIM is more comfortable for walking around and the GoreTex is WATERPROOF unlike the Alpinestars DryStar that left me wet. IMO... neither are "protective enough" for real off road trail exploring / jumping / river rock running adventure rides. Therefore... I have all of these boots in the closet and will wear them for more "road touring / gravel road running" ADV rides but as has been the case since 2007... I revert back to my Sidi Crossfire boots for most rides. There is my $100 response... 2 cents just wasn't good enough ;)

      @@manybikes Excellent and timely feedback !! Had the opportunity to try on a 9 and 10 Klim. The boot was overall a bit more robust than I expected. Entry was surprisingly tight. So much so that I was afraid to try and force my left foot (higher arch of the two) into the size 9. The size 10 was just enough larger to slip on but of course a bit more room than I'd prefer.
      After getting home I realized the extra set of insoles in the box was to make up a half size. Do believe I've found my next boot.
      Want to take a moment here to thank you for the many videos that aside from being there in person to try yourself are as good as it gets. It started with looking at the CB500X and spun off the rails from there. Pick up a 390 Adv in a couple hrs to start the road/exploring journey again after 11 yrs.

    Nice boots! How would you compare them to MX / Enduro boots ? How "easy" would an ankle sprain happen? Given you mention they are quite bland on that part. Thank you!!

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah... there are not any limiters nor hinges, just thick material. If you have a solid g-out, there is nothing to keep a sprain from happening. They are designed for touring, not Moto. That being said, I wore them in lots of tough terrain and didn’t run into any problems.
