- Innovative Tumbleweed Removal - New Mexico LTAP - Video VH-359 - Prototype development of truck-mounted equipment for automated tumbleweed removal from highway shoulders and median fences is described. Based on the design of hay-balers, the equipment picks up the weeds and runs them through a chipper-shredder into the truck bed. A phone number is given for further information, but results of field testing are not reported.
so what happened to this device❓
3:23 -- You're welcome. 😉
jeez what year is this from... 1983?
Looks 90s.
I also noticed the two men with ties were sporting 1970/80s hairdo & specs. However, many folks will stick with styles from their teen & young adult days. It's hilarious.
Your comment is 6 years old damn
@@I_Teen_I So your's is 2.
7:07 very dangerous.
John D II Fargo2
The guy with the glasses, the cranky prototype, it’s like a parody
Effective no doubt. But nobody under any circumstances should be anywhere near the front of that thing while it's operating.
Why are we not funding this?!?!
It looks dangerous af, I'd hate to see what happens if one of those silver spikes caught someone's clothing 😳
This would come in handy in case of any zombie apocalypse!
Why can't you just grind it and compress it to timber or firewood? Like what Chinese do to bamboo
Highly flammable
@@no8592 isn't that a requirement to a firewood element?
Well done!
Are y’all headed to Utah - March 5, 2024?
Exactly! We need those out here! 😅
OK, we need an update here. What ever happened to the project? Did the invention solve the problem? Or did the tumbleweeds emerge victorious after all?
The leader was caught in the device and came out as a fine mince.
what about a follow up?
So I had my youtube autoplay and I fell asleep... soon as I wakeup, I saw this... lmaooo no wonder why I fell asleep 😂😂😂
Your view history for that night could be funny
Did they get paid for their contributions?
Eureka! Lets use tumbleweed as new energy source.
"euh, the, euh, euh, whole euh, entire euh euh way euh and euh, to, euh, to euh, put ahw, hu hu fingers! euh on euh the euh, euh... euh drum.... euhhhh..."
I hope he's note the spokeperson of that departement! I mean, euh, euh, LET'S THROW HIM THROUGH THAT SHREDDER!!! I turned of the sound! My god, if you know they are gonna film, write down your text! jeezus!
Apparently he has the dreaded "tumble tongue syndrome".
Laughed so much at this.
He was awful at explaining. Why didn't he just read his report? I came here hoping they had found a fuel use for shredded tumbleweeds. But maybe tw's are not a problem anymore.
Why don't you eat it all? I hear it's delicious.
Very hard video to watch. Possibly could have been edited down to less than 7 minutes with all of the um's and loss of train of thought.
i been seeing lots of UA-cam shorts with a guy named Walter. this guy could have been him
so your solution is to make them leave their seeds faster? great.
I see a source of fuel, and - if you can believe it - plywood! A pickup enhancement would be to mount a blower near the pickup aperture. An air knife arrangement may work. A second chipper assembly further divides the material for better compaction, and helps eliminate blockage due to conduit crimp. The stuff can be used as road salt, fuel pellets, mulch (after suitable treatment to deactivate seeds), and mdf feedstock.
Well, now we know what happened to Jimmy Hoffa.
That one guy needs talking/speech classes.
That's not nice
umm, ahhh
Ahhhhh....... ahhhhhh........... ahhhhhhh...... what a dork
Wow spend 1million dollars on 1cent weeds, this is America😂
Maybe you guys should give it to a company that knows what they're doing! No, you guys "work" on this design, showing us that you have NO idea what you're talking about. Without any experience, well, just forget it than! Yeah, sure, drive your truck next to a fence, and pick and chip your thumbleweed! Won't work at all! BTW, this machine exists already, it's being used to collect, chip, etc., in the biomass and things like hemp. That's pretty dumb..
No one dare try to innovate or design anything new. That would be a bad thing. Let's push that off to someone else.
