In India people connects with movies with social messages alot if those are done by big stars, that is the primary plot of movie everything else is secondary. The genre shift is common beacuse real life is not in single genre anything can happen(acc. to director).
And Hey guys cut some slack to Atlee it was just his second film. He is trying his best by remaking his films and finally in Jawan he did good in term of screenplay. And people who are worried he is not doing something new, His teacher S Shankar is coming with 3 new movies, So Atlee will have so much content to remake.
They had issues with this movie but loved Jawaan 🤣🤣🤣 which basically is about 7-8 unfinished movies in one. Now that says something about bias, isn't it? "Since SRK is in it, we have to call it masterpiece, no matter how big a trash it is" 🤣🤣

No Its not about SRK. Its about viewer counts. They think that bollywood has more number of viewers and other industries have less. It is infact true. Up until 2 years ago, they reacted without bias to quality contents from film industries in India. But now It's all about reacting to contents which will fetch more viewers and giving opinions in favor of the majority viewers. Now a days, all I'm seeing is bollywood or masala movies to grab more viewers. This year Malayalam Industry has provided so many good quality movies which was recognised nation wide, but they wont react to it because you knoww.. Its all about view counts...

Most of the tamil movie's are mass masala movies. If it's an atlee filim there will be an action sequence, 2,4 songs, love story, social message, reference of old tamil movie's etc.. It will feel like a rollercoaster ride. You Guy's will feel strange because its a proper tamil filim. Only Indian audience can enjoy these type movie's completely. If you Guy's we're watching these type of movies from your childhood then you guys will love it. And this movie released at 2015 it's almost 10 year's gys😂 please try to understand. Price of one ticket is 150 it's not a small amount to a middle class indian guy that time. If whole famly came to watch the movie he needs to spend more than 3000₹. So tamil directors will try try their best to entertain their audience at the end of the day its a movie it means entertainment 🤷🏻♂️🤍.

Just a little bit you can easily look over some of the over acting cringe bits. Vijay's acting as Jeevanantham is 👌and the fight scenes are super creative and still hold to this day.
SRK got his first 1000 crores collection because of this director who made jawan. Hindi people are celebrating this director now. Just like prabhu deva, sandeep reddy vanga, a.r. murgadose, ram gopal verma, priyadarshan and etc who mostly revived bollywood star careers.

"why doesn't he seek retribution for his wife and mother." the reason is clearly stated by his wife (Samantha) herself she wants them both live happy life but only in the condition that he should never be cop again and it make sense cause if he (Vijay) seek revenge again he still will put his only loved in danger again and this what she doesn't want that and he also understood her decision cause it's the only good and peaceful way for him and his daughter. And if he were to go after him he will go against his wife decision and he will put his daughter danger. The villain is also politician so if he were to know that he and his daughter alive it would have been worse given his and baby's condition isn't stable after the whole incident.

To comments section, Theri is one of Atlee's early movies and definitely it rides on so many emotions with Thalapathy. He was still learning back then but he gave us Jawan with mass scale action, story, international stunt directors and what not. Theri is a good movie but you can not humiliate Atlee's progress and dedication in Jawan just because they liked Jawan but could't fit in with Theri. Both movies are special but can not be compared ever
