I'm still confuse where should i go with? Is there's any spesific rules for name in hangeul or it's kinda free? Since i know some idol, didn't write the exact alphabet and hangeul (for example 'yuqi' whereas the hangeul is 우기 , what i know it's should be 'woogi'. I know we must read it with chinese accent since yuqi is from china, i guess it supposed to be yu-chi (유치). That's a bit confusing. But i read somewhere that the chinese name using hanja version instead of the similar sound, so maybe that the case for yuqi and tzuyu. Sorry, it might be confusing (the thing that i wrote above), i can't explained it well. But i only wanted to know, is it alright if i use the hangeul 유딭 for my name?
Oh, Korean has rules for writing foreign words. I can't explain the rules in detail, but most Koreans intuitively know the notation, since it's their native language 😅 If you want to write Yuudith in Korean, just write '유디쓰'. And if you want to write Udid in Korean, it is '유디드' 😊 This rule applies equally to most Western or Japanese names. But when it's in Chinese, it's a little different. Because Chinese can be written with Chinese pinyin, or with 'Han-ja' (Chinese character) pronunciation. As you said, in the case of 'yuqi', her Chinese pinyin is yu-qi and the Korean way of writing it is '유치' If we write her name in Korean with Han-ja pronunciation, it is '우기' This is because Korean and Chinese belong to the same Chinese character culture. Because actually my spelling name is 'Yudith' (with pronounciation as "you did") , i add double 'u' just for uniqueness 😆. This might be a bit weird but TMI, I also like to make my own words, just by adding some character like "Yuudith". Aaahh,,,that's make me think, is it "yudith" and "yuudith" would be in same hangeul? or maybe different? And in Bahasa Indonesia my name (Yudith) pronounce similar as "you did" (it's like you skip the "h" part) that's also why i use "Udid" for my nickname. It has 2 meaning for me, one is Udid with pronounciation "u" (우) and "did" and second is kinda wordsplay "u" (you) and "did" (dith). So actually my friend called me 우did instead of 유did. This might be confusing (language barrier ㅠ.ㅠ), because this should be understood by hearing directly. ㅎㅎㅎ If 언니 wanted to know how my name is pronounce in Indonesian tongue, 언니 can use google translate, type "yudith" and click this icon 🔊 to hear it in Indonesian tongue. Also in Indonesia, i could say we kinda a bit free about the word and pronounciation. In positive way, Bahasa Indonesia is kinda flexible. Sometimes, eventhough someone have same spelling name, the pronounciation can be different. It is depends on the family, in which way, they want to called their child's name (for example "michael", some parents called it 미카엘 or some would be 마이클. Both of them is acceptable in Bahasa Indonesia). That's why it is a bit hard to change our name to Korean or others language who doesn't use alphabetic. I also still confused my name in Japanese language too, is it yu-di-to or yu-di-tsu 😵💫. Don't have Japanese friend, so I don't know. So, Eventhough Bahasa Indonesia use alphabet too, but the pronounciation is a bit different from english. For example the a,i,u,e,o is same as Korean or Japan. Eventhough some of chinese family like me can't speak chinese. But some of them still speak in mandarin too, or maybe others chinese region language, it depends on the family I guess. So my family still celebrate some of the chinese culture like chinese lunar new year. In Indonesia, you can called the one who has chinese blood in the family as 'tionghoa'. But we are not originally from chinese, i think it was like my grandfather of grandfather or more than that, that is original from chinese. So my father and mother is chinese that's already born and raised in Indonesia and also the parents talk in Bahasa Indonesia too. So if 언니 curious if i had chinese family name, yes i have it. My parents made it, but not like legally, it's like tradition thing, to make a chinese name for the child, some of family use their chinese name as nickname. I have more than one friend with chinese nickname and all the friends called with that chinese nickname instead of their legal name. (For example, let say i have a friend name legally as Nicholas and and his chinese name is tao ming tse, the family and friends since childhood called him "A-tse". -It's only example, i don't have friend name tao ming tse, i took it from Taiwan drama and Nicholas from actor, named Nicholas tse 🤣.) @@ARALAND finalleh someone told me about this.😭 and especially i heard it directly from Korean. I always curious about my name in Korean, i often use 유디트. Because actually my spelling name is 'Yudith' (with pronounciation as "you did") , i add double 'u' just for uniqueness 😆. This might be a bit weird but TMI, I also like to make my own words, just by adding some character like "Yuudith".
Aaahh,,,that's make me think, is it "yudith" and "yuudith" would be in same hangeul? or maybe different? And in Bahasa Indonesia my name (Yudith) pronounce similar as "you did" (it's like you skip the "h" part) that's also why i use "Udid" for my nickname. It has 2 meaning for me, one is Udid with pronounciation "u" (우) and "did" and second is kinda wordsplay "u" (you) and "did" (dith). So actually my friend called me 우did instead of 유did. This might be confusing (language barrier ㅠ.ㅠ), because this should be understood by hearing directly. ㅎㅎㅎ
If 언니 wanted to know how my name is pronounce in Indonesian tongue, 언니 can use google translate, type "yudith" and click this icon 🔊 to hear it in Indonesian tongue.
Also in Indonesia, i could say we kinda a bit free about the word and pronounciation. In positive way, Bahasa Indonesia is kinda flexible.
Sometimes, eventhough someone have same spelling name, the pronounciation can be different. It is depends on the family, in which way, they want to called their child's name (for example "michael", some parents called it 미카엘 or some would be 마이클. Both of them is acceptable in Bahasa Indonesia). That's why it is a bit hard to change our name to Korean or others language who doesn't use alphabetic.
I also still confused my name in Japanese language too, is it yu-di-to or yu-di-tsu 😵💫. Don't have Japanese friend, so I don't know.
So, Eventhough Bahasa Indonesia use alphabet too, but the pronounciation is a bit different from english. For example the a,i,u,e,o is same as Korean or Japan.
And yes, i kinda know a bit about chinese, since i have a chinese blood in my family. Maybe you can see my face is kinda oriental. 🤣🤣🤣. We all knew that chinese is spread all over around the world. Eventhough some of chinese family like me can't speak chinese. But some of them still speak in mandarin too, or maybe others chinese region language, it depends on the family I guess. So my family still celebrate some of the chinese culture like chinese lunar new year. In Indonesia, you can called the one who has chinese blood in the family as 'tionghoa'.
But we are not originally from chinese, i think it was like my grandfather of grandfather or more than that, that is original from chinese. So my father and mother is chinese that's already born and raised in Indonesia and also the parents talk in Bahasa Indonesia too.
So if 언니 curious if i had chinese family name, yes i have it. My parents made it, but not like legally, it's like tradition thing, to make a chinese name for the child, some of family use their chinese name as nickname. I have more than one friend with chinese nickname and all the friends called with that chinese nickname instead of their legal name. (For example, let say i have a friend name legally as Nicholas and and his chinese name is tao ming tse, the family and friends since childhood called him "A-tse". -It's only example, i don't have friend name tao ming tse, i took it from Taiwan drama and Nicholas from actor, named Nicholas tse 🤣.)
Other than tionghoa Indonesia has many other ethnician.
As for my knowledge about Korean culture, i know about it from drama or variety show. 😆
