I've watched several of your live streams and I'm just now hearing the music you have playing in the background during the stream. The music is a nice touch. A quick video on how you do this would be great. Thank you for all the great information you share.
Thanks! I ended up accidentally turning it off halfway through this stream 🤦🏻♂️ I’m still figuring out the best system, but for today I had an Epidemic Sound playlist playing from my old iPhone 6, which was running through the Rodecaster Pro. 👍
Outstanding information. You make it seem like you are having a normal casual chat in the living room with friends - when in fact, your sitting in a room alone talking to a camera lense. TB, you are very talented. LOL, i always enjoy our living room chats.
Haha, thank you! If I start to look at the situation and realize how absurd it is to be in a room talking to a glass circle by myself it feels strange, so I definitely try and focus on the fact that there are actual people on the other end and then it becomes just a fun time hanging out with virtual friends 👍

I've thought about this- there are so many different ways for different instruments! I have my basic techniques, but I'm pretty intimidated to speak on it since there are a lot more experienced pros out there.
Thanks Kevin! I haven't used the Tascam yet, and to be honest, even though they make good products, I'm not particularly interested in it. I'm sure it's a great tool, but to bring a Rodecaster clone to the market nearly 3 years later at the same price just isn't super exciting to me. Either the price needs to be lower or there needs to be HUGE upgrades in functionality, and it doesn't have either of those.
Tom! Thanks for getting back to me. I sort of agree with your take on that. I too have a rodecaster pro and I love it. The reason why I asked about TASCAM Mixcast 4 was because people have told me it could be better and wanted to know your take on that. Thanks for all the great content on this channel!
Id love to see Tom Buck get his hands on a sony zve10. I just bought one. After updating my audio of course. But i am brand new to cameras. The audio i have were off your recommendations. And have worked out grate. You made videos on the audio and rodcaster pro. So it was easy to het used to. How ever the cameras you use are not as close to the zve10. Long story short we need a get Tom a zve10 fund started. And shame on sony for not sending you one.
As far as Video / Audio synch issues, Video is not delayed because it's "Dragging all this stuff around". Video is delayed because it is being processed in the camera. The video is being compressed then sent out of the HDMI cable and this takes a few milliseconds.
Hi, Tom...always love your stuff. A weird question, but relevant to studio design, I think....what are the dimensions of your room? Any tricks for coping with tight spaces?
My room is about 12' X 12', so it's pretty small (especially since there's a drum set taking up half of it). Tips for tight spaces include shooting towards corners where you can get interesting angles, using lighting to your advantage, and setting things up for the camera. This room used to be kind of backwards, but one day I just tried positioning my camera in every conceivable spot until I found an angle I liked and then I rearranged the room based around the camera. It helped a lot!
You're too kind! I'm far from perfect, but it's definitely all about incremental improvements. Each show is hopefulyl just a little bit better than the one that came before.

You can definitely use the RCP! Just connect it to a computer via USB and you’re all set 👍 You can run the monitor outputs into speakers or a PA system.
