  • The IDAS NBZ-II is the latest version of the dual narrowband H-α, O-III filter. Remarkably, this filter has high transmission of both bands from f/1.8 to f/infinity! The filter utilizes the magical IDAS anti star-haloing properties as the previous versions did. The NBZ-II has narrower band-passes than previous NBZ filters. The O-III band-pass is 8-nm ± 0.4-nm. The H-α band-pass is 10-nm ± 0.4-nm. As expected, the filter gives excellent performance.

Hello Cody, Ive been using this filter on my RASA 8 and Samyang 135 f/2 since its introduction and you might want to mention the color balance with this filter and how to correct it. Mostly due to the large amount of OIII, you tend to get an orange cast in images. To work with this, I use channel multipliers of 100% for R, 50% for G, and 25% for B. you then get a beautiful red hydrogen nebula but still with pink high lights. Also, you can just add the B +G separately to get only OIII for enhancing OIII targets. -- Chris

I've got the original NBZ filter which I used with a RASA 11 & it still performs well so never bothered with UHS filter, although this one may be another one I may purchase at some point, cheers & clear skies

The UHS is better than the one you have. I'd upgrade if I were you
