I’ve never seen a tincture made from elderflower actually never thought of that presentation I have done a hydrosol for Cremes and love it thank you for another wonderful way to use what nature has given us!
I do believe that the tincture as it finishes is mostly medicine. You could use food grade glycerine instead, but I think that is technically an alcohol also. I could be wrong though.
When using an alcohol-based tincture, a small amount of alcohol is typically ingested along with the herbal extract, especially if you do it sublingually. While the alcohol content in a single dose of tincture is generally low, we understand how it may still be a concern for you if you avoid alcohol altogether. However, if you do add the tincture to hot water tea than the alcohol will evaporate. We personally do not drink alcohol, but we do regularly consume alcohol based tinctures without any negative side effects. Thank you for your question, we hope this helps ☺
