An interesting quirk to our domestication of dogs is that their ancestor species is an obligate carnivore. But in the 5000 or so years we’ve spent with them, they somehow acquired the gene to produce an enzyme necessary to digest grains. Dogs are omnivores, though they prefer meat. Which is why most kibble (dry) dog food is plant-based.
On the other hand, humans did not domesticate cats. Cats domesticated us. They are still obligate carnivores. And even though we feed them, they still hunt. And they are very proficient hunters. They are some of the most successful murderers on the planet.
And I have to say, the way u/Hambone handled earth cats in the j-verse was far more nuanced than this. If humans are super strong from our high gravity planet, then so are cats. It wasn’t just that cats have a chase instinct, they are physically strong enough to kill most sapient beings. Guns that would pulverize most aliens feel to us like being slapped. So if a cat can jump onto my kitchen counter under Earth gravity, the insane acrobatic parkour they can do anywhere else, with claws coated in bacteria… a single cat in a bad mood could pose a legit threat to an entire spaceship.

If this is how aliens react to Earth house pets, imagine how they'll react to hearing our many kinds of music.

A cat, even predators are scared of them!
