    Until after WW2 in the U.S and through out the world the 7.65 Browning AKA .32 ACP outsold the .380 caliber pistols about 5 to 1. More handguns were produced in .32 ACP than any other chambering. These were used as primary and secondary military and police pistols between 1900 and even long after WW2. Your PP is an example of that (police sidearm, German). European ammo was/is loaded hotter than US domestic ammo. In some loadings it is even close to the .380 in power, but with a smaller bullet diameter. FIOCCHI 60 GR SJHP yields 1100-1200 FPS depending on barrel length. In the PP you should get the higher performance levels. A lot of folks have been planted on boot hill with this cartridge and in like pistols PP 7.65 VS PP .380 as an example the 7.65 has in my experience been the most accurate and as a result you can hit the target faster for repeat shots and more precisely. Some may consider this as less effective than the .380 but I'd surely not want to be on the receiving end of your pistol. There is a reason it was so popular world wide.

      The ficcoci 60 grain jhp penetratied deeper in phone books then the federal American eagle 71 grain fmj, and had a perfect mushroom to boot.

      Agree on the EU rounds being hotter loads. It’s a fantastic round and as you say has put a lot of men down.

    Got a reconditioned German police pistol at the rod and gun club in Germany in the late 80s. Paid $75 plus holster and two mags. Still shoots great.

    Awsome review of a piece of history maybe its one of a few great things that came out of a war that cost the suffering a then death just because of there religious beliefs and these poor people were born in the country that turned on them civilians these where what war crimes should be based on and it's still happens in many county's as for the gun it's put down by almost everyone who reviews it but for technology that came nearly a hundred years ago and it's basic desighn parts of which are still used in current award winning model with today's tec. It's a major contribution to pistols that where effective had convenient and guaranteed saftys for its size it can make quite effective shot placements at a certain range and the ppk was probably one of the first pocket guns that had all that and was carried by many law enforcement agents as a back up with hollow point silver tips up to the time when mainly plastic pistols were looked at as untested and scary it's all up to the individual but mine was my first pistol and if they came to seize them that's the gun I could easily make go away and still be there if needed all hypothetical of course.

    I recently purchased a 1983 PP in .32 acp. It shoots any ammo I put in it. Shoots decent groups at 20 yards. I'm having a hard time finding used mags at a reasonable price though.

      It's made by Barsony in the US, I bought it off Amazon. It doesn't have a model number but it's meant to fit small semiautomatic pistols from .22 to 380 sized guns. It's made from nylon with a leather strip sewn on that holds the metal belt clip. Right now I use it when I'm carrying my PPK since I retired my PP from carry.

    Thank you for posting this video of your lovely PP, it has a colorful history. Owning a S&W PPK/s which is a smooth operator, been looking for a PP to add to my PPK/s. Haven’t found a source to obtain a PP as of yet, if you or anyone can point me in the right direction would be most appreciated .

    I have a Walther PP, which I did not fire for over 40 years. Last night I decided to strip the gun to lubricate the parts, but I was tired, or just too stupid, I forgot to remove the loaded magazine. So now I have a bullet stuck in the chamber with the slide removed. Is there a way I can extricate the bullet without having to fire it? Please help.

    • @servicerifle16
      @servicerifle16  Рік тому +1

      An unfired cartridge or the bullet itself? If its an unfired cartridge you could use a cleaning rod or wooden dole inserted through the muzzle and push the cartridge out. If it's just the bullet itself I'd use a wooden dole inserted through the breech and lightly tap it with a hammer to get the bullet out.

      @@servicerifle16 Thank you for your prompt response. Yes, it is a live bullet, 32 acp, and from what you suggested, I understood I could use a wooden dowl to push the bullet out from the front end of the barrel?

    • @servicerifle16
      @servicerifle16  Рік тому +2

      @@philipscott9810 Yes, you are correct. You could also use a cleaning rod, preferably one that won't damage the rifling.

      Currently they seem to be around $600 to $1000 depending on condition and if you have the original box. You would have to look up the serial number to determine when it was made since Walther PPs were mostly made before the current German date code system.

    Beautiful pistol. I just acquired a later German 32 PP to go with my German .380 PPKs. So this is your dress-up gun. Since you brought up carrying at your wedding, I'm curious if there were any reactions from the other members and guests? :)

    • @servicerifle16

      I had it carried concealed so the only people aware I was carrying was my (now)wife and the best man. No one else knew. Though my family and most of my wife's family are gun friendly so they probably won't be upset about it. I mostly carrying a pre-war Walther PPK now.
