  • This is a demonstration of our simple, yet magical wedding disco effect, the humble 'Mirrorball', sometimes called a 'Glitter Ball' or 'Disco Ball'.
Weddings really come to life and this gives our customers a unique, albeit traditional mood to their chosen wedding reception venue.
We bring our proper nice, professional quality (polished glass reflector) Mirrorball along with all the nessesary rigging, hanging bits. Not to mention of course, the computer-controlled powerful lighting, to illuminate the ball.
This video was taken at the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott hotel in the Dorchester Suite. The light fixtures used are 2 X Chauvet Intimidator Beam 350 LED moving head fixtures.
For more information on this lovely option / add-on to your wedding or event, contact Nick at Big Night Out discos, based in Bournemouth, Dorset.
DISCLAIMER: The music used in this video is: Bonobo - Flutter, taken from their album 'Dial M for Monkey'. I do not own the copyright to this music, although I do own a copy of the physical CD album.

Hi buddy. Yes, this mirror ball is actually just a static speed one, it's set to 5 RPM which is a little fast, I also have a DMX controlled one which can be set at between 1-5 RPM in 0.5 increments. 1.5 works best I feel. The spots used are from 2 Chauvet 350 Beam LED moving heads, running from ShowExpress software. Thanks :)

That's a nice look. The 350's do a great job on the ball and then for a change just go back to the moving head option! Very cool. I wonder if the speed of the motor could be changed by adding an in-line rheostat servo control?

Cool stuff :) What is the name of the light/equipment you are pointing at the mirror ball, thats gives the effect you are showing at 1:44? Are you useing that light in combo with pinspots as well?

How is the Mirror Ball mounted, I suspect its clamped with the motor attached to the clamp, in a situation where you can't clamp if this is the case I suspect you have some sort of stand ?

How did you mount this in the center of the venue? Hanging from the center of a ceiling of a venue for a mobile DJ is usually not an option. Or are you part of the Venue team?

Love the effects when the mirror balls`s static, but its very fast when turning? Would a slower motor look better? What moving head are they, and what program are they running off? Nice work.
