You know, the bagless vacuum thing didn't start until around the early/mid 1990s... before that... most every vacuum used a bag (except the rainbow vacuum sold door to door which uses water (different from the bagless on store shelves)... I have never understood why... why .... why people think bagless is better.... Back in the day.... one issue was finding bags for your vacuum...you had to go to store and hope they had your model.... but now the internet can find them and have them shipped to you....and with the invention of the HEPA bags it's even better... used to bags only used to be paper...so the filtration wasn't as good. Now...the filtration with HEPA bags is amazing.

I repair and service vacuums and have for 15 years. I can say that bagged vacuums are overall better as a long term investment. the bags are not only more sanitary but it keeps 99.9% of the dust out of the machine which makes the motor last longer. plus its cheaper than buying filters. and most people aren't aware of filters so the bags are more obvious and a better option generally speaking

Would you say that it "deep cleans" into the carpet pile?

I bought one of these two weeks ago and am disappointed that it does not work too well on pile carpet (cleaning up spilled potting soil), it does not have a carpet height selector. I had a Hoover Dimension Supreme which worked incredibly well on pile carpet. Other than that, I am impressed with the BU3040. The hand-held mini rotator brush works very well for picking up cat hair on furnature; just move it back and forth slowly, not quickly.

@@user-cq3qm4ps3z Well, I ended up buying a Sebo Airbelt. I was not thrilled to spend that much on a vacuum, but this is probably the best vacuum I have ever used (and I am old now). I had free 12 month financing through Synchrony bank, so it made it easier to do the purchase. This vacuum has hospital grade filtration and so many other good points. I will not go into every thing. Anyone in the market for an excellent vacuum that will easily last 20-25 should research the Sebo. I looked at A LOT of vacuums before I settled on the Sebo. I almost purchased a Miele, but once I went into the store and compared the two, the Sebo was obviously the best choice. Next time you are in the market for a vacuum, I recommend you go into a dealer and look at Sebo. Highest quality and best warranty out there.
