I have to admit, I don’t know how to knit, I barley know crochet, my only expertise in fiber arts are needle felting and finger spinning yarn (a simple technique where you only use your finger and maybe a small wooden stick to keep everything neat for spinning yarn), but if my dream comes true, and I become a well knitter, and a very experienced fiber magician, than this will be one of the projects I will do. So pretty, Such movement and texture, I feel like wearing this as a cape can make you feel sensorily confident and bold - I can just imagine how beautiful the sensory experience of this shawl is. Wonderful! I actually watched this video before but last night I was thinking about this magic cape, I want one like this in my clothing collection.
I was already blown away by the sample but each one revealed afterwards just floored me! The contrasting colors and texture are simply magnificent!!

I like the idea of a shawl with lots of different cables. Maybe something like Marled Magic or Crystal Fragments, and each section could be a different cable pattern.

I’m starting to get burned out on cabling, working on the beautiful “Mautinoa” shawl from the YAL2022. It’s absolutely gorgeous, but cabling across over 500 stitches (every row) is extremely fiddly. I know I’m going to love the finished shawl, though 😍

I love (!!!!!!!) Knitting this shawl sooooo much! But I have a suggestion... would it be possible to design a border which is not so pointy? I prefer a nice smooth border... I know it is done in another pattern... two border choises... smooth and with points... Other than this... I have already ordered extra yarn for a second Shawl Smorgasbord!!

Horizontal cables?
the shawl is GORGEOUS but then i looked at the price tag of the kits and immediately took psychic damage 😔
I am working with my local yarn store & a local yarn supplier/hand dyer to put my palette together which is a bit cheaper (although not completely as it is quality hand dyed yarn still) and there’s no shipping or customs/duty. If you have some nice colours in your stash already, you might be able to build off of them & save a bit. I will splurge for his MKAL and just try to be really fiscally prudent for the rest of the year!
