Exactly. This 4th of July my conservative family was celebrating Louisiana doing this in the schools as a win for God. I sat quietly shaking my head bearing with them. This only drives people into more condemnation thru the law over their sin, but to be fair, that is the point of the law for those who don't see their salvation yet fully in Jesus Christ; that the law is their schoolmaster to point them to Christ.
The self-righteous will celebrate this as a big victory. They think that they stand for the truth by preaching God‘s commandments. But there’s nothing special about commandment preaching. Every religion does it. Nothing special about the ten commandments in public buildings. Grace is special, because it is so different from everything you‘ll find in this world.

That comes from decades and decades of false teaching. Many of them won't accept the true message of Salvation and Grace because it is the narrow way and they are much to blind to see it. It makes me think of Matthew 9:12-13 which says .......But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. We are all sinners, so Christ has callwd us to repentance (metanoia, change of mind) to change our minds from self, and however we think we can save ourselves to Christ who is our Saviour, Amen !

Yeah let’s plaster the walls with what Paul calls the ministry of condemnation and death as if it were the be-all and end-all of righteousness. Like sin would be stopped in its tracks due to their display. Where is the Gospel? The Law shows us our sinful state…where is the solution? Condemn and don’t offer God’s solution?! Such a religious show of self-righteousness and sciptural illiteracy.
