My aim was to keep my garden design simple, while also going above and beyond my previous garden designs. This year I wanted to grow tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and cucumbers, so I designed this garden to meet their needs. I worked the soil with a tiller, and laid out dirt and mulch as the base of the garden. I used tree branches as a border for the garden beds, raising them slightly higher than the walking path. I kept everything simple so that I would have enough time to build it prior to the growing season. I hope some of my ideas might inspire you to build a garden of your own.

I have cucumbers on the arch and they are what I’m most excited for. They’re Persian cucumbers and they are the perfect shape for pickle spears. I make quick pickles are they are one of my favorite snacks.
