With vehicle's, if trying to be covert, send a squad or 2 (1-2 teams 4-8 people) in, and have a tank or even a few gunned transports outside the base by about 500 meters. If something goes wrong, the vehicle's rush in to save and protect the infantry.
i beg you Bohemia T_T start working on interiors for the tanks and apc's. now playing as a tank crewman isnt even fun. if you play for 2 hours in one game you get so bored it makes you want to break your arma disc in two. why is there interior for everything, but we cant use it as driver/gunner/commander in a tank/apc
If i correctly remember, APC interior came for Arma 2 when OA was released. Since they scale the Expansion as size of OA, we should expect some APC/Tank interiors. New buildings like the hospital which looks amazing would be nice. I just love to use buildings for custom missions. Sad the AI still can't use them properly.

Last I checked RP wasn't as efficient as playing the game to your full potential but playing a three man tank crew correctly is way more efficient than three people where one is generally a spectator and the gunner keeps yelling at the driver to hold it still while he shoots or it's a lot better than one guy who keeps the tank for himself and switches from driver to gunner because he doesn't want to share and be efficient... They should put vote to chose a commander... not let the slot one automaticly for command... in CTI mod... I still play this year arma 2 for the CTI mod that's more fluid and efficient with rebel that's look like civils (REBELS).
I believe what you're looking at is the Mora - that doesn't come without a turret, no. The strider though is pretty damn close to what you're thinking of.

its not about easy or hard, its about at least making an actual attempt at a simulator. For example ARMA2 ace's tanks are good fun because of it, even though the FCS is still very shallow, and you can actually employ some modern vehicle tactics because of it, unlike arma3. There was no conscious decision, they were just too lazy/had no time/ had no money, to make an actual FCS.
Dont cry, just find a nice 1st p only community, its your own fault if you play with 3rd person ^^ 3rd P is useful for players with major handicaps though like down syndrome or visual defects
Too bad bis still stick to the horrible hitpoint system that removes any sort of advatage from armor since enough rockets will kill anything despite the ammount of armor on any spot. Good thing there are mods to adress this. Also no interiors is just sad.

Arma wouldn't work well on consoles, even the new gen, because they simply aren't powerful enough and controllers wouldn't really work well for all the buttons your would need

Your friend is wise! I don´t enjoy vehicle servers either. I don´t enjoy playing as infantry and constantly getting killed by Thermal sights tank from 6Km away, all the fucking time! You do have cars/armored cars in InfantryOnly servers too. Also choppers with no guns.
You're PC obviously just isn't up to scratch because I never have problems and none of my friends do. If yo don't have far above the recommended specs then don't run it on high settings.
it also depends on servers and your CPU. If you have a AMD cpu or a AMD gpu you are SOL. I have a Xeon e3 1230 V3 and a GTX 780 and this game runs like butter. Some servers get 25FPS avg others get 45-60
JuiceBoxBlobb No there is a lot of optimisation missing, you need a ridiculously powerful PC, mine is already fairly strong. In Singleplayer I can play on max view distance on maximum graphics and a fairly high amount of AI and get around 60 but in MP with just players I get 20 fps on medium graphics.
I have a server (Filter "ATCAG") that doesn't plague players with that annoying shitty FPS or stuttering issue. My frames range from 30 to 100+, depending on what's going on. If you have a good processor, solid state drives, and a good enough video card, there shouldn't be issues. Also, making video setting compromises without losing quality is advised, to be safe.
Please fix AI driving and tactics, otherwise they're driving in walls and proning in plain field when being shot at. Atleast make them search for cover.

It's weird because the Gorgon looks to have a driver console rendered for a split second when turning out, but not possible to look at while playing.

Actually, it's the L-159 Alca, produced in 1997. Not as far back as you claimed and pretty close to 2035, in fighter aircraft time.
