Woah, that's way more affordable than the nickies kit!
According to many people's experience on forums, using steel/iron sleeves results in head gasket failure within a few thousand miles because the expansion coefficients are different from aluminum.
I had read the same and discussed this with LA Sleeve who out me in touch with a couple of their customers that own Porsche specialty garages. I spoke with one, because I know their reputation, and they said they have not experienced any head gasket failures related to sleeve installation.
That said, I don't doubt the problem has happened but LA Sleeve has been at this a very long time, where as many machine shops simply don't have the experience or equipment to do a job like this successfully. But if it blows a gasket I'll be sure to post that up
I think that "Mahle" is pronounced like the name Molly.
On that 996 engine, you are going to replace the IMS bearing with something that permanently fixes the famous issue, yes?
Great video!
I just got my hands on a C4S that has a good amount of noise from the bore scoring. Looking at a 4.0 build. Basically the same as this.
@@fundamentallybroken4194 Do the LN Engineering IMS bearing fix! I have no affiliation with this company.
I called the corporate offices yesterday about a different set of pistons and it seemed that pronounced it Mall lay.
